I thought when I bought this car that I would have a vehicle to take my son to get his chemotherapy but I thought wrong! it started with the air suspension that dropped to the ground when my shocks gave out and the rear airbags couldn't hold the weight of the vehicle but I was sitting in the car rider line at my son's school at a dead stop when they decided to go. (so much easier to look the fool) we then found hoses that had corroded apart that were vaccum hoses and thinking that was the problem we fixed them. It wasn't the problem. I didn't know then that my shocks were completely gone until we were jacking up the car and removing the back tires to inspect the airbags better when we saw that the rust had completely taken over the whole under carriage. Now I have front & rear trailing arms that have numerous holes from the rust eating through them, along with the fuel tank straps that have almost rotted themselves loose, and almost completely broken ball joints. I want to know who is coming to take my son to get his chemo since I don't have the money to run out and buy a new car? I give my cash to Ford to keep my car afloat. I have had this car for 10 months and I owe $2800 but the thing is that it cost more for me to fix everything and replace all dry rotted lines, rust, ect and buy coil springs which I hear now have as many problems. Is Ford going to pay for my son a new car since it is like this one would be totaled since it cost more to fix than it's worth? no, they don't care and I hope when they go home after reading this they can look their own child in the face knowing that my son doesn't have a ride to chemo 30 miles away! I guess it will take wrecking my car accidentally and killing the child I fought for 10 yrs to keep alive for insurance to pay for it or is Ford going to have heart doing the right thing by recalling the things they know is their faults?.

Leaving my neighborhood going 20-25 mph. Pavement was dry. Slight downhill incline. Put my foot on the brake. Brake started pulsating rapidly. Brake was resisting me pressing it by pushing my foot back up with pulsating action. Truck would not stop. Could have rear ended the car in front of me or went into a 4 lane highway. Pulled out onto the highway proceeded down another downhill incline about 45 mph. Put my foot on the brake to slow down again the brakes started pulsating and did not work. Had to stand on the brakes pushing against the brake rapid pulsation to get the truck slowed to turn into a parking lot. Traction control sliding car icon was flashing. Took to dealership 10/28/10. Dealer could not find any codes or malfunction. Dealer said the traction control system "rsc" resets itself periodically and will most likely do this again. This is a dangerous time for a bake or tracking control system to reset leaving one without brakes. Personally I don't believe their excuse. Ford has a seriously dangerous problem with the traction control system. Seems others have had this same problem reference to odi id # 10220899. Also other complaints under the tracking control system odi id# 10332619 and 10321582. Also from surfing the Ford enthusiast web site, and other web sites, a lot more people are having this problem and are not being reported.
My family, which I have five children in the truck. On 10fwy on mothers day Expedition lost power in second lane 65mph flowing w/ traffic. We managed to get in emergency lane. Had no idea what was happening! amber light appears (wrench)?? clueless. Put truck in "park" turned off truck waited 5 minutes. Truck started?? drove home as truck is not unsafe. Parked truck for 3-days now truck will not turn on. Dealer will look at truck for charge of course.

I was driving on central expressway this morning (12/4) and my 2005 Ford Expedition gave me an "electronic throttle" error message and shut down. I was driving ~50 miles an hour in the middle lanes. Extremely unsafe and see on the internet that there have been several 2005 Expeditions who have experienced the same situation. I thought the part would have been recalled or that Ford would have fixed this part as I bough this vehicle used from their dealership. Very disappointing.

My advance trac light was intermittently on, now it is on constant, the vehicle even shifts into 4x4 when it is not needed (dry roads).

Was driving down a 4 lane heavy traffic road in fair weather conditions around 45 mph when vehicle maintenance light "check electronic throttle control" came on and completely shut off any driving power to my vehicle. I was not even able to accelerate to pull over safely. I was driving with a 3 year old and I am also 6 months pregnant. When the car finally stopped itself, I shut the engine off, waited a minute and started it up again. It started roughly, but then was fine. Called fox Ford dealership in grand rapids, mi that I normally deal with and they said that it would be the throttle body with throttle control sensors in it. My type of warranty (powertrain) does not cover it and it will run between $500 - $700 to fix it. Contacted Ford itself. There is no recall on this item, although I've noticed tons of complaints on the internet about it. . Read more...
I was driving my car when electronic throttle control light came on and my car lost power instantly and stalled. I have 57,000 miles on my car. I am not covered under warranty but due to the nature of the problem, I figured Ford would have recalled this faulty part because of safety concerns. I travel daily with 3 children and this problem happened to me twice before I took it in to dealership. Thankfully no one was behind me both times. I had to pay over $500 to have the part replaced. I called Ford to express my concern and they basically did nothing but take my information and then turn the call into a sales effort. They advised me there were great promotions and rebates on new vehicles right now. Like I would want to buy a Ford again when they have no regard for consumer safety!!!.
While driving on dry pavement at approximately 25-35 mph the traction control light will start to illuminate randomly. Eventually staying on constantly. Pushing the traction control button will not turn off the light. Turning off the car and starting it again will make it go away. One time when this happened the abs brakes engaged and the brakes had significantly reduced stopping power. I took it straight to the dealer and they did not see any error codes in the system.
2005 Ford Expedition. While driving on the hwy the "check electronic throttle control" light came on and put the vehicle in "limp mode" I had no accelerator pedal control. December 22, 2008. Taken to dealer, no problem found. Code was " p2104". Same thing happened again December 20, 2009. Taken to dealer no problem or code found. When this happens ,you have no power. You have to coast to the side of the road and call for help.
I purchased a 2008 Ford Expedition in Dec 07. In oct 08 when my wife applied the brakes at approx 40 mph the traction control light came on, the abs took over, and the steering wheel began to shake violently and the vehicle was extremely hard for my wife to stop and she rolled past the stop sign and was almost hit by another vehicle. The vehicle was returned to the dealer for the repair. This has happened a total of four times, three times it has been to the dealer for the same problem. This has become an extreme safety problem for my wife since every time this has happened it is really hard for her to control and stop the vehicle. I have stated a case with Ford customer care and the vehicle is currently at the dealer for the third time. Ford said they would have to send an engineer to go over the vehicle because the Ford mechanics are unable to fix the problem. So far none of the Ford personnel seem to know why or what causes this and seem to think it is perfectly fine to use my family as their crash test dummies.

My 2004 Ford Expedition has had a problem since we bought it from the dealer. The advancetrac will engage on dry surfaces and smooth roads. It will happen anytime of year when the road is dry and should have no reason for turning on. I almost crashed October 31 2007, the abs turned on and I could not steer, I slowly came to a stop in on the wrong side of the road. It was hard to stop while the abs was still engaged the whole time. I then turned off the advancetrac and I drove right to the dealer and told them to fix it. I have taken this car in many times to phil long Ford they could never get the car to engage for them. It has happened more than I ever want to count. They have replaced a couple of different things but it still has this problem. Thank you for your time!!.
No incident yet. Vehicles traction control fails, abs fails and 4 wheel drive fails all at the same time.
