Tire Sidewall problems of the 1996 Ford Explorer

I was told from employees at amercan tire company . That the dominator tires had defects. Now will not replace another bad tire .

Four tires cracked at the sidewall. Dealer stated the cracks were cause from dry rot.

There were two tires blowouts at the sidewall simultaneously while driving. The blowouts caused damage to both driver's front and rear wheels. Tire info: firestone wilderness 235/75r15 (dot/unavailable) 20k miles on both tires driver's front and rear. Ts scc.

When applying for automobile insurance in tennessee (having recently moved here from michigan), the insurance agent/adjstor inspected the tires. Even though the tread is still good, all four tires have a stress crack on the sidewall below the treads. The adjustor indicated this was the final stage before the tread separates from the tire, and advised me to replace them immediately. I took the car to a local firestone dealer, and was told these tires have not been recalled; therefore, he would not replace them at no charge. The tires have 25,000 miles on them and should last an additional 25,000 miles. I am gravely concerned about my safety on the road. What can I do? Tire side wall blew apart. Looked like a donut. Contacted nearest firestone dealership who wouldn't replace according to tire road hazard warranty. Contacted elk grove Ford (nearest dealership) who collected tire and sent to firestone who as of Aug. 4, 2000 has not replaced deflect tires nor refund money spent on due to repairs as a result of deflective tire according to big-o employee adam. Sidewall puncture to left rear tire. Driver lost control, right rear tire debeaded, vehicle rolled three times and landed on passenger side against interstate guardrail. ( dot number: tire size: p235/75r15 ).

Pe00 020; tires were cracking around sidewall, and tires were replaced by firestone. Problem was solved.

Left rear tire sidewalls came to ribbons. Tread had separated from the tire. The tire was a firestone wilderness, unsure if it was the original tires. Vehicle was driving approx 60 mph. Tire size p255/70r16. The tire was given to dealer. Customer was waiting for recall to replace the tires but would not drive the vehicle on interstate until tire safety is assured.

Firestone wilderness at tires were replaced twice because cracks developed at the sidewall where the tread meets the sidewall, the tires that are presently on this vehicle have the same cracks as previous faulty tires. Nlm.

Side wall blew out on tire while driving on freeway. Tire seperated from tread on rear passenger tire. ( dot number: tire size: p235/75r15 ).

Three original tires replaced due to flexing of thin sidewalls onto sharp rocks.

Firestone tire (no size or brand) experienced blowout, consumer noticed a split in sidewall all around the tire, consumer states the cause of the tire failure is unknown.

Dunlop radial rover tire experienced blowout on rear passenger inside sidewall while traveling through an intersection, tires were replacement tires, size p235/75r15, dot hld113100.

One of the firestone front tires blew out due to tread portion separating from both sidewalls.

While having tire serviced notice a buble on the outer sidewall of tire. In addition, all four tires had cracks on the outer tread.

Tires are cracking on the sidewall, I'm afraid to getup to highway speeds. There is plenty of tread left on the tires. They say "made in canada" I could not find the dot #. ( dot number: none tire size: p255/70r16 ).

Tread and sidewall of two of the firestone tires was coming apart, tires are not included in recall because of the size, consumer request reimbursement. Nlm.
