Ten problems related to speed control linkage have been reported for the 1998 Ford Explorer. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

When the brakes are applied under normal braking conditions vehicle accelerates suddenly. The manufacturer has been notified.

Throttle is sticking in the close position,and upon depressing accelerator pedal, vehicle suddenly took off in full throttle. Consumer has contacted dealer, dealer has replaced throttle body. Please provide any further details.
