The driver side windshield trim separated from the vehicle while driving on the freeway. Upon inspection at our destination, it was evident that 4 of the plastic clips had broken causing the failure. The driver behind us was able to avoid the flying debris from this incident. We have not taken it in for repairs yet. There was no warning or early indication of this problem prior to it occurring. Concerned the passenger side will do the same.
I was driving on the highway on my way to work and the windshield trim panel on the passenger side flew off of my vehicle. This is definitely a safety hazard as this flying part could have hit another vehicle and/or caused an accident.
Right "a pillar" cap broke off while driving on the freeway.

I was traveling on rte 25 in wareham, MA at approximately 65 mph when without warning the passenger side a-pillar trim piece flew off of my vehicle (2015 Ford Explorer). This startled me which caused me to be momentarily distracted. I just thought this was a rare incident so I did not initially report it however I was prompted to report my incident after hearing about other incidents on the news. I have already ordered an aftermarket replacement and would like for Ford to refund me $56. 30.
Window trim pillars have blown off the car multiple times at highway speeds.
Blower motor heat. Trim in door split.
Timing belt broke and caused vehicle to stop running, this was after I took it to a mechanic who did a diagnostic and no issues showed up. Now, because of the timing belt breaking, the engine is irreparable and the entire engine will need to be replaced. It only has 116k miles. Another minor complaint is the front driver's side side windshield panel has come unglued. Luckily, the vehicle was stationary when I noticed it being loose. However, it could pose a safety risk. I have noticed other similar vehicles missing the same piece, so it seems to be a consistent problem with Ford Explorers.

Plastic cover of windshield detached while driving. May pose a hazard to other drivers as it becomes a projectile when detaching. It also startled the driver when it detached, causing swerving. There was no damage done to provoke the problem, it was spontaneous. Have not taken the vehicle to be inspected by dealer.
The vertical black plastic trim piece along the side of the windshield on the drivers side of the car detached and flew away while driving on the highway.
Trim moulding right passenger front window. The piece is not available as it flew off while driving down highway on 25 June 2022. We don't know what happened to the piece and if it struck anything/one traveling behind us. No warning. We replaced piece.

The windshield trim on the passenger side flew off the vehicle unexpectedly while driving 70 mph on the freeway. The piece hit the windshield and then flew off and could have struck a vehicle behind me or caused someone to swerve unexpectedly. This is extremely dangerous. The a pillar trim is defective and there is a currently recall. However the last updated said parts will be available in 2024. We are currently halfway through 2025 with no resolution. This is unacceptable and the manufacture needs to address this ASAP.

Body: windshield trim detached last year and flew off at highway speeds. Didn’t cause damage to my own vehicle but could have bounced off someone else’s. Drivetrain: non serviceable (unable to do a fluid change) on my power train unit. Due to this it started leaking at the front seal and others reported failure during driving. The fix would be to add a drain plug and make it a serviceable unit.
Passenger side a panel has been loose for many years, but flew off while driving. This happened while on the highway and smacked into my windshield. Very dangerous for the driver and others on the road!!! I have seen numerous issues with this online and don't understand how this hasn't been recalled.
On Jan 20, 2021 my 2015 Ford Explorer left driver side lower windshield moulding panel flew off into traffic. I was travelling at 45 mph on a windy day. I circled around and someone had run over it and so it was not repairable. I had 96k miles on the car. I got the car in 2017 and have not had windshield replaced. I saw a few cars swerve around it before another car hit it. This could cause an accident.
The passenger cabin both front and rear has the pungent smell of exhaust whenever the vehicle - engine running and - either in park or drive and - either moving or stationary and - either highway or city driving and - going 0 mph, or 10 mph or 20 mph or 50 mph and - either turning or straight and - with the heat on or off and - with the air conditioning on or off and - with all of the windows sealed (up) the fumes seem to make us not feel well and make our eyes burn. There is something seriously wrong with these cars! so anytime the car is running exhaust fumes are entering the passenger cabin.
The paint on the hood of my car appears to be bubbling in multiple spots.

While driving down the road at 55mph the electronic power steering went out without warning. This caused me to go off the side of the road and into a fence. Very dangerous, as I have read several other stories online stating the same things and some at higher rates of speed on the interstate. Luckily I was alone and no one was harmed. It could have been alot worse.

I got in my car and heard a strange noise outside. Looked and found that the smaller piece of the door handle had fallen off. I picked it up and got back in the car, would fix it when I got home, but the door would not close/latch. I was able to get the plastic piece back on the handle and was then able to shut the door and drive home. Luckily, this happened in a parking lot and not while driving down the interstate, as I believe the door would have flown open.
Loud road noise around driver door, rubber seal does not stop air and road noise to interior of vehicle.
