Failure Date: 11/28/2025

The parking collision sensors started to act up. Its been replaced 3 or 4 times in the last year over the same problem and no one has tried to tell me how to fix the issue besides keep getting it replaced. People are at risk of getting hit or hitting a object that could be in the way of me reversing.

3 Warnings problem of the 2023 Ford Explorer

Failure Date: 11/28/2025

Manufacturer recall number25s72 NHTSA recall number25v442 vehicle had been taken to and left at the local Ford dealership all day (opening to closing on 11/28 and 12/23/25) twice now with no resolution to this recall ticket. Technician and service manager advised both times that the required update from Ford is not working and they believe the apim needs to be released, but Ford service (corporate) must authorize this. Almost two months since the initial appointment and I still have no answers as to when this recall will be addressed. As this is a safety related recall and my vehicle often replicates the problems which are listed in the recall, I would like this matter addressed with a little more urgency by Ford.

11 Warnings problem of the 2014 Ford Explorer

Failure Date: 09/02/2025

My uncle has a 2015 Ford Explorer and he received recall 25v695 for the rear camera issues blurry/ wavy and going completely black and not being useful. Almost have backed into a few things when it goes out in the middle of reverse. I believe this is a huge safety concern and my vehicle should be added to the list of affected. Not that they are going to do anything, I took mine in a year ago for the a=pillar trim flying off and they said they still don't have parts that I could either just park it or take the trim off and drive around that way. Smh. Can you please help so I can feel more safe when I back up?.

16 Warnings problem of the 2020 Ford Explorer

Failure Date: 01/03/2025

While driving. Every light on the dash started coming on. Pre-collision assist not available, 4wd fault not available, no cruise (adaptive or regular) available, reverse break assist not available, hill assist not available. Every time the vehicle was started it would these issues or would start while driving. This is an absolute safety issue and hazard. The vehicle has plenty of reports online of this happening to other. Ford was willing to give vehicle back saying it was safe to drive without fixing bc I couldn’t afford it and it wasn’t covered under the power train warranty. I was told I have to report it and if it gets enough reports something will be done. But this is an unacceptable answer and cost for something that is a safety concern.

17 Warnings problem of the 2014 Ford Explorer

My vehicle has been having at issue with the reverse camera since the begining of last year. It started as being distorted to fully not turning on at all when in reverse. I noticed there is a recall for the same issues im having with my reverse camera but it begins with model year 2015. My vehicle is a 2014 Ford Explorer. I had many incidents of almost hitting pedestrians when im in reverse to making inpact with other vehicles behind me. Can this recall be reviewed and add additional model years as this has become a safety issue for me and my family. Thank you.

18 Warnings problem of the 2015 Ford Explorer

Failure Date: 09/09/2024

The vehicle was sold to me by “buffalo auto sales 2 at 3012 spencer hwy pasadena, TX 77504 on [xxx]. They violated the dtpa and all employees failed to disclose the vehicle had dozens of major safety issues with two open safety recalls. These safety issues include major abs issues and failures, power steering/drivetrain, front end passenger wheel & both rear end wheel failures within the mechanisms such as control arms, tie rods inner and outer & even one within the wheel component that was dangerously bent. The headlight pigtails are torched. These couldn’t even be fixed with even replacement oem parts/Ford dealership parts and Ford dealership expertise. My safety, my children’s safety, family and passengers were all at risk multiple times over the past three weeks. Every time on the highway or local roads not being able to sustain maximum speeds over 20- 40 mph because touching the gas even after a red light would cause the engine to hesitate to turn or stutter. This caused me multiple trips back to buffalo auto sales 2 and multiple mechanics even multiple Ford dealerships. On September 12th 2024, I discussed these severe safety issues with buffalo auto sales 2, my salesman originally offered to place me into another vehicle, give me back my large cash deposit, or “attempt to fix the vehicle”. The manager immediately refused to do the right thing and claim to “fix the vehicle himself”. . However when I asked if the manager jeff has experience as a mechanic he replied he does not have mechanic experience. That day they claim to have “fixed” the abs problem, and in turn the vehicle was still shaking while in motion at any speed. Even after I thought Ford service could fix the tie rod recall, that still did not work because the rear was still shaking. I had tire experts and mechanics even change front tires, and do an alignment on September 30th 2024. . The vehicle is still shaking dangerously while in motion. Warnings on are abs, chk engine & tire pressure lights. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of in.

19 Warnings problem of the 2020 Ford Explorer

Failure Date: 07/19/2024

360 cameras are foggy and cannot see out of them causing false readings on parking alerts. This is the same issue the f150s have a recall about but there is not one for the Explorer. The foggy display is getting worse over time. Hard to tell by the picture but in not very bright areas out of direct sun you cannot see anything on the 360 camera.

20 Warnings problem of the 2024 Ford Explorer

Failure Date: 06/10/2024

This vehicle has a 360 camera system that was not included, despite is being included in the component package that is standard for this vehicle. I contacted the dealer directly, informed them that there are cameras installed on the vehicle, but only the rear camera is operational. Further investigation into the matter revealed that Ford apparently "recalled" the camera systems on the Explorer for the 2023 models, but has not distributed any information to its dealers. Now I have a forward facing camera that is not operational, but the vehicle's warning system continually advises me there is a problem with the front camera's vision, "check forward camera lens for cleanliness". Also, the front camera lens is clear, but it still will display the warning. The Ford dealers all claim that the manufacturer has not shared information about the 2024 Ford Explorer's 360 camera system. Lastly, the reverse braking system is non-operational as well. Another system that should be included with the upgraded package.

21 Warnings problem of the 2015 Ford Explorer

22 Warnings problem of the 2021 Ford Explorer

Failure Date: 01/29/2024

My complaint relates manufacturer recall number: 23s23 NHTSA recall number: 23v342 intermittent experience of a rear camera blue on the sync screen when the vehicle is placed in reverse and notification that rear parking assistant is disabled. Per January 2024 I received a notification that a remedy is available (replacement of rear camera and software update of sync). The dealership was not able to perform the remedy as they told me that the accessory protocol interface module (apim) showed error codes and could not be updated. I was told to replace the apim on my own expenses of ~$1,800. I am not willing to pay for a hardware replacement as I strongly believe that the apim was defected by two prior updates: 1. Prior effort of Ford to solve blue screen issue via software update and 2. . Read more...

30 Warnings problem of the 2022 Ford Explorer

Failure Date: 06/26/2023

I was backing up at low speed (less than 1 mph) to park by gently letting my foot off the brake to back. I was using the rear backup camera to gauge how far I could go back without striking the vehicle behind me. The screen showed video that I was still several feet away from the vehicle behind me when I felt a sudden bump. I stepped on the brake hard to ensure I was no longer moving but the camera still showed several feet between my rear bumper and the vehicle behind me. I put the vehicle in park and got out to verify that I had struck the vehicle behind me. I had. I returned to the driver’s seat, put the vehicle back in reverse to see what the camera showed and now it appeared on the screen that my bumper was touching the vehicle behind me. The video on the screen had absolutely froze while I was backing, which contributed to me making an error in judgement while backing, causing me to strike the vehicle behind me. The dupage county sheriff’s office (illinois) completed a crash report. Sopc23-08519.

Also have water leaking from the exhaust line when car is in park. Driving back from work early in the morning a sounded like a big pop not sure what it have may been took it to the mechanic ass well twice an got it diagnosed an they’re response was they couldn’t find the problem. Transmission jerks as well I’ve had this vehicle for 8 months a don’t seem to be what a vehicle should be doing.

33 Warnings problem of the 2020 Ford Explorer

Failure Date: 04/14/2023

My vehicle has had 3 software updates to try correct blue screen issues. Recently under a blue screen I was backing up in a parking garage and hit the wall as I could not see with the screen being blue. Fortunately I was going slow but it did scrape my bumper from hitting the concrete wall. Mostly it scared my kids and had an abrupt stop. I had read a pin on the connector was left uncapped leading to corrosion resulting in faulting screen. Why is Ford trying to fix with software update? they should of been replacing connector pins or cameras. I have been experiencing this for over 2 years.
