One problem related to rear suspension leaf spring shackle has been reported for the 1997 Ford F-150. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
After making a left turn left rear tire was punctured. This was due to the rear leaf spring popping out. Driver felt lucky that he was making a left turn instead of a right turn because leaf spring could have punctured the gas tank.
