Six problems related to engine head gasket failure have been reported for the 1999 Ford F-150. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Thru manufacturer defect (which Ford is aware of) a headgasket seal may fail in their triton engines due to defective manufacturing and quality control. . Said failure of gasket constitutes (due to location of failure) a significant risk of fire caused by exhaust system which is in close proximity.
Spark plug keeps being blown out of the cylinder head. Now they want to replace the whole head $3,000. 00 they first time it happen they just put in a helicoil kit and charged me a $1,000. 00. I have also replace 2 coils on this side of the engine and also had to replace the head gasket on that side.
: the contact stated the engine was leaking oil. The vehicle was taken to the service dealer who determined the engine's head gasket had a small chip causing an oil leak. To remedy the problem, the service dealer recommended a new head gasket to replace the defective one.
The head gasket failed. Oil leaked again out of the right rear cylinder head. Scc.
Second time in to dealer for the same head gasket failure, 1'st at 24,500 mi 2'nd at 26700. Dealer is trying to resolve the problem, but how many more times must I take it back for a problem Ford is aware of.
Leaks oil,replaced oil pan gasket at approx. 15000 miles and again at 33210 miles.
