Four problems related to wheel bolts have been reported for the 1999 Ford F-150. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
1999 f150's left front tire separated from the vehicle. The left front spring bent as a result of the tire separating from the vehicle. The vehicle's undercarriage was damaged. The driver stated that new tires had been recently installed on the vehicle.
Loose lug:nuts, resulting in the loss of a wheel. All wheels had loose lug nuts & have since discovered same condition. Lug nuts on rear seem to be too short, they don't even have a full nut of thread on studs.
Lug nut provided for aluminum wheels do not fit flush on the steel rim, resulting in coming loose and vehicle wobbles and control lost, this happen every time the lug are retighted.
Noticed wheel lug nuts were loose before performing first tire rotation. Three of five nuts were loose on both rear wheels.
