The contact owns a 2004 Ford F-150. While the contact was driving 40 mph he noticed a loud clanking noise coming under the vehicle. A local mechanic informed the contact that the auto hub lock needed to be replaced. There were no prior warnings. The current and failure mileages were 44000. - while driving on the highway at 65 mph the right rear axle on the 2004 Ford F-150 cracked. There was no indication, any type of vibration, or warning before the incident. The hub stayed attached to the wheel at the time of the incident. The right rear axle cracked which caused the vehicle to have no steering. The driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a median. The contact had the vehicle serviced every 3,000 miles, as well as recently getting 4 new tires.
