Truck stalls in traffic. Also when hitting the brake. It stalls in reverse. It stalls while idling. Worst truck ever!! severe safety issue ??.

While driving on the freeway I notice a noise and a lose of power pull off and had truck towed to dealer they called me told me needed new motor I was shocked only has 154000 miles on it what the hell dealer told me $9000 to replace motor what told them I would be there to pick up truck with tow truck well they called me back said $7000 still way to much but I need the truck cant buy a new one so I had to get 2 loans to replace my motor then I find out the motor in a 2004 f 150 has a major issues but the dealer never told me anything of the sort so now I have a truck with the same motor as before that cost me a large amount of money I didn't have Ford should step up and take care of the problem so now I have 2 loans to pay off hope to hell this motor last and they wonder why people go postal if Ford dosent resolve this I will never buy a Ford product again !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Paint cracked ,coils malfunction,springs front.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the eg valve and the fuel injector needed to be replaced. The dealer was not called. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The contact stated that the transmission and the engine were replaced in 2018, the vehicle was not repaired, the failure mileage was approximately 15,000. Fe.

2004 Ford F-150 engine is bad. The 5. 4 liter engine. I bought this vehicle used 3 years ago and now the engine is ruined. My husband researched and also consulted with several mechanics and found that these engines were known for the cam phasers going bad so Ford stopped putting this engine in the vehicles in 2007. The last time I drove this vehicle aa I was making a right turn, the truck cut off on me in the middle of the road which is very dangerous. We owe $8,000 on this Ford which is now no food. Sits in our yard. We want action. Ford needs to stand behind their product.

Think I bought a lemon truck from Ford after spending a lot of money to try and keep truck running but after all the time and effort I put into the truck it will only go in reverse and engin sounds rough .

2 times in the last 6 months, most recently on 2/27/17 my vehicle suddenly accelerated as if the gas peddle was being held to the floor. I was stopped at a light this time and had my foot on the brake, so I was able to prevent my vehicle from lurching into the intersection. I placed the truck into neutral and shut off the ignition. When restarted the vehicle functioned normally. The first time this occurred (about 6 months ago) I was slowly entering a parking lot when the truck suddenly accelerated.

My Ford f 150 has thrown a rod & the motor is knocking badly, to my understanding all 2004 Ford f150 3v have a bad motor in all trucks, every truck I know have this problem. You exchange this motor to a later or early motor it won't work I being told by the dealership mech. I believe Ford should be held to recall & replace these motors.

Tring to pass smog but truck has misfire witch caused motor to shake spewing gas at 76 in oakland CA thank god my roomate spotted it as we're leaving pump or we could have blown up or worse after a struggle we were able to get the truck out of gear and push it out of the pump area .

The #3 spark plug has blown free of the cylinder head. This is the 2nd plug that has blown free in 1 1/2 years for this truck. The last was either the #7 or #8 plug. Both happened on deceleration while at highway speed.

I recently purchased this vehicle and now I am having the spark plugs replaced. 3 out of the 8 broke in the engine. This defect has affected numerous other owners. The repair costs are extremely high for a normal simple repair. This sounds like a design defect and a recall should be initiated.

Had owned the truck for about 2 months before the engine started knocking, staling, and would just completely shake so bad the truck would shut off like it was outta gas! had the cam shafts replaced, fixed the problem for about 15 days, then knocking started up again. . Long story short- engine ended up blowing up! $5000. 00 later for a remanufactured engine with corrected parts that should of been corrected in the first place by Ford! selling faulty parts that could not only harm my family while driving but others on the roadways as well. . . Ford needs to own up and correct their mistakes! I will never purchase a Ford vehicle again!.

Blew the spark plug clean out of motor leaving no threads while sitting at a stop light.

The rear differential acts up and prevents the truck from accelerating properly. Stutters all of the time and has a mild misfire and what sounds like knocking.

Driving down the road at normal speed of 55 when my 2004 Ford F-150 4. 2 v-8 blew a spark plug out of head!!.

Engine knocking - oil pressure dropping - timing change bad.

To begin with I had to have all 4 windows repaired. The mechanism that raises and lowers the windows broke. Since this was bought as a used vehicle, there was no warranty. So I pd. $150. To $175. 00 each. Was told Ford knew of this problem but since it wasn't a "safety factor" no recall was issued. I feel like this is quite unfair to the consumer. We purchase a vehicle that has a good reputation and then are told that this expense is our baby to take care of. I feel like this was very unfair to this consumer. I have purchased Fords for years with no complaints until now. Also, the headlights developed a leak and filled with water thus shorting out my right headlight,and is slowly doing the same to the left one. I have been told that just the burned out bulbs cannot be replaced,that the whole assembly had to be replaced and this is at a cost of approx. $175 to $200. Per assembly. This is outrageous. Also,there is a problem with what used to be "points & plugs" which are now a "coil" assembly. This problem developed approx. 6 months ago. According to the readouts I have gotten, the #1 plug is misfiring approx. Every ,1000 revolutions which causes a miss in the engine and was very alarming to me since I was on the highway about 200-250 miles from home, traveling by myself. So, another expense is looming. I realize there are expenses to owning a vehicle. I do not expect to not have any problems or repairs with my vehicle,but I did not anticipate this many. Nor did I expect the cost of the repair parts alone to be so outrageous. I am on a fixed income and had I anticipated these problems I wouldn't​ have made this purchase. I truly love my truck, but is there anyway these other repairs can be done for a lesser amt? I've already pd. To replace motor &rotors in all 4 windows. We always take our truck to the Ford dealer for service. Recently they got new management and they said OH by the way someone should have told you even though the spark plugs are 100,000 miles you should have had them changed already because they get stuck. So I went to the internet and read the nightmares about my 5. 4 engine spark plugs. Took it to a 3rd party mechanic and all 8 got stuck and were not easy to remove using Ford's special tool they developed because they know of this problem. I apparently made put a lot better than most, my bill was only a whopping $700 for having spark plugs changed within 100,000 miles they are supposed to be good for. Mechanics are recommending getting them changed at least every 50,000 miles now and some won't even touch the Ford 5. 4 engines. Many other customers have had bills in the thousands for this routine maintenance all due to Ford's bad design. There have even been multiple class action lawsuits but when I called Ford for more information about them and why I wasn't notified to join, they say they can't provide any information. I don't mind routine maintenance but a known issue like this that Ford refuses to assist consumers with is ridiculous.

The fire department was contacted who determined that the fire originated from underneath the engine compartment. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. Power loss and surge in flow of traffic at 65mph. Sudden stop and loss of power in traffic. Traffic had to come to halt around me. I had to stop vehicle and attempt to restart several times to restart. This is a known issue with this year and model of Ford and needs to be recalled. I have not had it happen at these speeds and it was terrifying.

Attempted to start vehicle. Engine made a clunk and hydrolocked with no warning. Changed starter assuming the starter set up. Attempted to start vehicle again with same result. Now in process of finding a motor. I looked into this issue. Seems like this is common issue???.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic test. The mechanic was unable to diagnose the failure. The contact independently tuned up his vehicle and wanted to also service the spark plugs however was unable to reach the spark plugs. Upon researching how to remove and replace the spark plugs. The contact was made aware of the defective problems with the spark plugs. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 119,000. Az.

Ford has a known issue with the spark plugs. This is the second "tune-up I have had on this truck. Both times, plugs have broken in the engine. It is not my design, it is Fords, so why do I have to pay 891. 99 in labor to have plugs removed.

Took truck to get tune up but was told I couldn't get warranty to help pay for service badly needed and due to that I lost work and was almost homeless but ended up getting help from my mother for tires that took 5 days and was a big headake at wallmart but that's another thing . Its a long story but I'm doing my best to have a decent running truck that I can rely on to keep jobs. I just want it fixed so I had to become a mechanic just to find out there is a recall on theses motercraft 515 spark plugs and would like help to get copinsation and have repairs that is needs attion ASAP . Long story short I love my Ford truck and learned a lot along the way please help.

Replaced fuel pump driver module (fpdm) mounted on a support above the spare tire on a 04 Ford f150. First engine code was p0191 for the fuel rail pressure sensor, engine would crank but not start. Ran scan tool and found code p1237 for the fuel pump driver module. The cast housing of the fpdm is corroded and cracked almost splitting it in two pieces. Had to grind off fpdm and the mounting bolts and drill and tap new mounting holes. After replacing fpdm, truck starts and no longer has a rough idle.

The engine blew a spark plug out my grandfather bought this truck new it never had them removed before it did not come lose it blew threads and all out do your god dam job make Ford fix this before someone gets killed from a fire over this wen the plug pops out it blows fule out on the coil pack with it with it shooting lighting bolts if I had been a person with no mechanical knowledge it would have got bad I poped the hood and flames wer poping out around the coil pack that is beating the crap out of the fule rail if I had drove the truck or had been on the freeway that fule rail would have been busted then a fire ball I can send u picks or make a video of the coil pack smaking the fule rail.

I was driving down the highway doing 65 when my truck lost power. . . I barley coasted our of traffic and pulled over. I could not figure out what was wrong, oil was not low and electrical system seemed fine. Had to tow it to a mechanic to find out the engine is locked up. Apparently the cam phasers in this engine are junk and go out very frequently causing major engine problems. This needs to be fixed! these engine are very expensive to rebuild or replace.

Between approximately 150000 and 160000 miles on my Ford f150 there have been three incidients of spark plug blow out starting with the 3rd, the 1st, then the 2nd cylinder on the right side/passenger side of the engine.
