Driver side power window is having issues rolling up. Will roll down fine, but when I go to roll it up, gets stuck halfway through. I have to grab top of the window to force it back all the way up. I had this problem 2 years ago when truck was under warranty and dealer replaced free of charge. Now I'm already having the same issue only 2 years later- I read a ton of posts on the web and it looks like this is an ongoing problem with Fords and should be something that should be recalled. There are reports of windows shattering on the highway for being only rolled up halfway when the window would not roll up- also what if I get stuck in a bad part of town, like compton, CA and my window won't roll up?.
My 2005 Ford f150 pick-up drivers side window made a loud bang when I went to roll it up. I was driving when this happened and was very startled, almost hitting the car next to me. I looked for a website to fix it and found they have several issues with their electric windows. Add one more.
7 of 8 spark plugs broke off while changing out on my vehical this is crazy heard alot of complaints.
I was driving @ 45mph when engine suddenly stalled out and lost all power, rpms, and power steering. Check engine lights came on, along with "check gauges" message. Pulled over, turned off truck, then started up and everything was fine again. This is the second time this has happened. Since everything is working again, it wont give a diagnostic code, so problem cannot be fixed. I have read alot online of this happening to others, but Ford seems oblivious to the fact. Some say it could be a throttle positioning sensor.
I have a 2005 Ford f150 truck. The end of December 2009 the driver's side window fell down. It started with the electric window button sticking and ended up all of a sudden falling down. The Ford mechanics said this is not unusual and could happen to all 4 windows. This is not a covered service for repair.
While driving our truck the driver side window slowly lowered itself and would not raise up. This was approximately 2 years ago. Yesterday, September 25, 2011 about 2pm, the passenger side window went down on its own and would not raise up. I turned off the hwy I was on and luckily avoided a wreck. Today sept. 29, 2011, I called Ford motor company, told them about the window and the previous window being fixed, gave them my VIN#, name, telephone# and was told there are no recall's and they are not aware of any problems and cannot help us financially with this problem. I told them, I was filling a complaint with them and notifying you.
Speedometer and gauges all drop to zero, power to clock/radio goes off, flash of abs light and then flash of srs light, when gauges return to normal the low fuel signal goes on in the odometer until the fuel gauge returns to normal. Srs light blinks 5 times then 3 times, repeats, and then stays on until the vehicle is shut off. This happens while the vehicle is being driven down the road and may happen multiple times in a row.
All four windows do not roll up or down. The digital instruments and lights on dashboard filker on and off. An independent mechanic checked vehicle and stated all four of the electric motors needed to be replace. Still working on the dashboard problem.
While driving 35 mph my Ford f150 truck engine shut down. The truck lost all power brakes and steering. Seconds before it stalled a engine malfunction light came on. I was only able to re-start after coming to a complete stop, placing the truck in park and turning the key off then back on. Took it to dealer and they road tested and diagnosed codes; p2104, p0121 and p2112. Pinpointed and found electronic throttle body physically sticking closed. Replaced etb and retested ok after repairs. This was not covered under warranty. Time of failure the truck mileage was 33900. See service repair order.
The contact owns a 2005 Ford F-150. While driving 35 mph, the engine shut off and the warning indicator illuminated. The contact restarted the vehicle and pulled over to the side of the road. The dealer stated that they never heard of this type of failure and advised the contact to bring in the vehicle for repair. The dealer inspected the vehicle and stated that the electronic part that controls the foot pedal failed. The vehicle was repaired under warranty. The failure and current mileages were 33,900.
I bought this truck with 48,000 miles on it. It had a bad shake in the rear area. Also a bad brake shimmy. Took to Ford dealership I bought it. Couldn't find anything wrong. Told normal! I worked in the service dept of a Ford dealership I know normal. 53,000 or so miles bad clunking from transfer area wouldn't go into 4 wheel drive 1/2 the time took to Ford, told nothing wrong again. 72,000 miles transmission goes out. Told nothing could be done, out by 2000 miles. I was a service manager for a Ford dealership they could do a supplement on the warranty. I asked for 1/2 of cost told no. Even after documentation of all the services and complaints told to bad so sad. This truck has had transmission troubles, 4 wheel drive trouble, the power window switch fell apart in the door and a bad brake shimmy even after I had a 4 wheel brake job done, its still there. No help from Ford at all!.
When vehicle's engine is cold, and approximately 8 minutes into driving, vehicle will cut off while in motion & wrench light comes on. Vehicle then has to be guided to a stop with no power or can be shifted into neutral & restarted while still moving. Following vehicle restart engine light is on. Code indicates truck has been placed in "limp home mode". After about 2 weeks, engine light goes off. I was advised to replace the throttle body in Feb. 2010, however the throttle body had just been replaced in April 2007 when the vehicle was only 2 years old.
On December 22, 2006, the contact had used the cruise control and it smelled like something electrical was burning. He turned off the vehicle and when he returned 2 hours later the smell had dissipated. The contacted stated that on December 28, 2006 his 2005 Ford f150 crew cab caught on fire. He had been driving approximately 8 minutes. The contact was driving approximately 35-40 mph. The weather conditions were dry. The contact stated smoke started coming up out of the dash board. There were no warning signs or alarms. He pulled over to the side of the road and was only able to roll the window down a quarter of an inch. The doors on the vehicle would not open. The contact had to keep banging his shoulder against the door and jiggling the handle before the door would open. The contact was using the cruise control. The police and fire department came to the scene. The contact was transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation. The vehicle became completed engulfed in flames. The contact has a police report and fired department report. Kb.
I was on a trip out of town and I smelt something burning. Few minutes later, I saw smoke coming out of the corner center console. I pulled over to investigate and saw a light shining through the side of my console that didn't belong there. When I turned off my headlights and the light would turn off and stop melting the plastic of the console. This could have been worse for me had it not been daylight! it turns out it was the light that connects to the gear shift to illuminate the letters (p, r, d, etc. ) had not been screwed in tightly at the manufacture. Ford replaced the console, the connection bracket and the light socket as they had melted together. My husbands light in his f150 unscrewed too, but didn't cause any damage.
Our 2005 Ford F-150 pick up truck was parked in our driveway. During the night the truck caught fire and burned through the garage and through the attic. Our home and contents were destroyed as well as loss of a family pet.
