Truck will stall while towing when coming to a stop at exit. Will not restart easily. Put truck in park, crank till starts, rev engine and shift into drive and keep rpms up to drive away. Will happen again after stopping for gas. While towing , I will fuel at the half tank level. It happens a lot on hot days. Usually after about 2 hours + of driving . No codes thrown at any time. Dealer can not find issue. This has happened for 2 years.
Tl- the contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at 15 mph, the brake pedal was depressed but failed to engage as a result the contact rear ended another vehicle. No warning lights illumniated. The contact stated no air bags deployed in the vehicle. The contact stated the vehicle stalled however, the vehicle was able to re start. No police report was filed. No injuries were sustained. The vehicle was taken to chipola Ford (4242 lafayette st, marianna, FL 32446) where the failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 3249. Lj.
On two separate occasions (different trips) while pulling a 21' camper on the interstate at 60-65 mph, my truck would immediately stall when attempting to start it after getting gas. I would have to rev the engine in order to keep it running and then a prominent "clunk" would sound when I put it in drive. It ran rough initially but seemed to operate okay once moving and would once again die out if the engine was turned off and re-started. Let it set for an hour while eating and it's okay.
Tl- the contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the auto start when turning left the vehicle stalled. The contact shifted into park the back in drive and was able to drive normal. A warning light illuminated indicating to put the vehicle in park. The contact also stated that there was no power steering, the vehicle was taken to mace Ford dealer twice, at 4501 us-41, terre haute, in 47802, where a diagnostic testing was completed but the technician could not find a failure code and informed the contact it was normal. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact also mention the backup camera intermittently failed to function and that the vehicle consuming oil. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 6,000. Aw.
After towing a trailer for some miles (130 or so in this case) the vehicle stalls/dies after pulling up to a traffic light or stop sign. This repeated itself multiple times (7 in one town) and twice in another town before getting home. This happened with the auto stop feature enabled and disabled. System chimed at each occurence and indicated that driver should put truck in park and turn ignition key.
Truck shuts off when pulling a camper and will not run after restart unless you rev the engine and quickly pull the shifter into drive and accelerate quickly. The instrument panel shows �auto startstop shift to p, them restart engine. � this has caused many near miss accidents. The vehicle will stall when you try to cross an intersection or pull away from a stop sign.
Vehicle stalls whenever coming to a stop after towing for more than an hour. Requires the vehicle to be placed in park to restart, but will continue to stall out immediately. Dangerous at intersections and stop-and-go traffic. Also stalls (when towing) when attempting to restart after refuelling. Only way to get the vehicle to start without stalling it to keep the gas pedal pressed to keep the rpm above 1500; or wait 10-15 mins for engine to cool. No check engine/computer system error given at all. Only stalls when vehicle has been towing over a long distance. Occurred 20+ times a day over the course of traveling across the us and canada in July/August 2018. Took the vehicle into Ford service center in longmont, CO, but were unable to diagnose with no code. My truck has the 2. 7 engine. While towing our trailer longer distances the truck will stall while exiting the highway or stopping for fuel. It will not restart without pressing on the gas and dropping it into drive. Its very unsafe because you might be in a intersection and cannot steer it because of the electric steering. This has been a ongoing issue sincee it was new and they cannot figure out the problem. Its to the point that I dont feel safe towing with this truck especially with my family in it.
