1 Catalytic Convertor problem

Failure Date: 02/09/2025

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact had received notification of an undisclosed recall. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the recall was repaired, and a software update was performed. The contact stated that on the same day while driving approximately 20 mph, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer and dtc: p0430 was retrieved. The mechanic also advised the contact that a catalytic convertor cleaner should be added. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure reoccurred approximately one week later. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

2 Catalytic Convertor problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2025

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the check engine warning light illuminated, and an egg-like odor was present during start-up. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who diagnosed that the catalytic converter was faulty. The catalytic converter was reprogrammed, but the failure reoccurred. The catalytic converter was reprogrammed a second time and then eventually replaced. Later, the check engine light illuminated, and the contact was informed that the second catalytic converter was faulty. No further information was available. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 57,346.

3 Catalytic Convertor problem

Failure Date: 05/11/2024

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 35 mph, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where dtc code: p0420-00 was retrieved. The contact was informed that the catalytic converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 78,507.

4 Catalytic Convertor problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2021

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated while exiting a car wash and parking the vehicle, he noticed a puddle of water on the front passenger’s side floorboard. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the overload pipe to be replaced with a longer part. The vehicle was repaired but experienced the failure a month later. The contact took the vehicle back to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the overload pipe to be replaced a second time. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated in January 2023 while driving at an unknown speed, the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact also stated he began to hear an abnormal sound. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the driver’s side catalytic convertor to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but continued to experience the failure, three months later. The contact took the vehicle to the back local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the passenger’s side catalytic convertor to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated on June 10, 2023, he noticed an oil leak in the rear passenger’s side tire. The contact took the vehicle to another local dealer: autonation Ford arlington (1400 w interstate 20, arlington, TX 76017: (817) 200-4503) where it was diagnosed with needing the rear passenger’s side axle to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.
