1 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 07/05/2025

While driving (on the highway or in town) get and error message "intelligent cruse control speed sign recognition not available" this results in the cruse control not adjusting for change in speed. Such as getting off a highway onto a side road, the cruse control continues at the old speed. It has been happening ever since early July 2025.

2 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 05/05/2025

Numerous times my vehicle has suddenly came to a stop pit itself in park and turned off the engine while I was driving at a speed of 25 mph. Several times while cruise control was active my vehicle increased in speed and pressing the break didn't deactivate my cruise control I had to manually turn it off. My crash detection has gone off several times when there was nothing around my vehicle.

3 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 09/16/2024

Front camera fault causing adaptive cruise control not to work therefore forfeiting any added measure of safety at highway speeds. The issue was investigated and was fixed at the local Ford dealer by installing a new camera, camera control module, and wiring. Warning message came on every time the truck was started and warning light came on saying that adaptive cruise control could. Not be engaged.

4 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 06/28/2024

After starting the vehicle at a motel in the morning, and backing out of the parking spot, I put the vehicle in drive and gave it a little bit of gas (wheel cranked to the left to finish turning out of the spot), and the vehicle rapidly accelerated across the parking lot. I hit the brakes and the vehicle stopped accelerating. I looked down to see the cruise control set to 15 mph and crossed out (disengaged due to brake engagement). I never set the cruise control at that speed. To the best of my knowledge I never bumped any cruise control buttons that morning. To the best of my knowledge a software glitch caused cruise control to set and engage, from a stop, to an unsafe speed considering the circumstances.

5 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 05/25/2024

My truck is currently experiencing a front camera fault that is resulting the pre-collision warning/assist, adaptive/normal cruise control, and lane keeping warning/assist from operating as designed. Upon dealer inspection on 7/11/24 it is noted that TSB 23-2146 was issued to correct the issue by replacing cables and ultimately the image control camera and module resulting in thousands of dollars in repair costs of a known issue by Ford.

7 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2023

Collision avoidance , headlight bright/dim , lane departure system not working. I’m for service five times over five weeks with no resolutions there may be others I don’t know about until I need them the dealer is fred grande of richmond michigan.

8 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 07/03/2023

With the cruise control set to a speed of around 60mph and with no other vehicles around, the truck accelerates (uncommanded) to some value over 71mph. This occurs randomly but is repeatable and has only started occurring within the past week. A definite safety concern.

9 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 02/28/2023

With cruise control engaged, the set speed would randomly change up or down changing vehicle speed rapidly. Most dangerous part was some times the speed would set itself from around the speed limit where I set to as much as 20-30 mph above the posted speed limit up to 90 mph. The speed would instantly increase by 5,10,15,20 mph all of a sudden which is not possible to set with the cruise control buttons as they only increase or decrease in one mph increment. If it is some sort of speed limit sign reading system it failed and caused a dangerous situation for me and my family. I have video of multiple instances. This is dangerous and life threatening for the occupants of my vehicle and others on or near the road and could easily lead to loss of control, injury or death.

10 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 02/15/2023

When traveling on a divided highway in the left lane with no vehicle ahead of me, as I am passing a vehicle in the right lane, just when I am about even with that vehicle beside me my truck applies the brakes firmly and unexpectedly. There is no associated warning message on the instrument panel display or audio alert like there is when it goes into collision avoidance. When it happened the first time I was very startled and worried it saw something that required braking but as it happens almost every time I pass someone I am getting used to it.

11 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 12/25/2022

Brake failure, brake pedal went to floor had to firmly stand on peddle rear wheels eventually locked up and truck skidded to stop. Warning lamps that lit up are check brake system, hill start assist not available, service advance trac, pre collision assist not available, abs and brake light was illuminated. Very dangerous situation. This is the second time this happened the first was September 2021 they replaced the brake booster at 7,000 miles this occurred again 12/25/2022.

12 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 10/31/2022

On certain occasions, the transmission will make a banging noise while causing the truck to jerk forward when the vehicle has to upshift such as taking off from an intersection but rarely jerks when the vehicle is downshifting. Also, while using the adaptive cruise control system, the vehicle will travel close to the right or middle lane as if it is looking for the pavement striping and then move back over to the center of the lane. With the adaptive cruise system, when the vehicle is supposed to be in the center of the lane, the system slightly turns the the wheel as if it is having trouble staying in the center of the lane. The vehicle also has a csp for unintended tailgate opening. I have an appointment set for November 18th but have been trying to get in touch with the service advisor that was assigned to me multiple times and was told he would receive an email to contact me each time but he has not contacted me. The shifting/jerking problem has occurred only three times and the issue with the adaptive cruise system is every time it is turned on while traveling a multi lane highway that has a broken striped line on both sides of the vehicle. Since this is my only vehicle, if the vehicle has to be kept at the dealer, I would need a loaner vehicle to travel to and from work while my vehicle is being repaired. I only use my truck on paved roads. Date is most recent incident of transmission issue.

13 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 06/24/2022

This is a link to the dashcam footage. Traveling 45mph in stop and go traffic. I braked (indicated by my hood dipping downwards) but failed to stop. Possible defect? haven't had my truck back since the accident on 6/24/2022. Https://youtu. Be/hl7iau0463i.

14 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 06/17/2022

On June 17, 2022 while driving to work on highway in nee york stare, I put the adaptive cruise control on so I could adjust my drivers side rear view mirror. The truck suddenly lunged to the left striking a guard rail and overturned several times. Despite being a direct high speed impact to the guard rail and overturning , the steering airbag did not deploy. See police report attached. Due to this , I sustained major internal tissue damage including: a broken sternum, punctured lung bruised aorta, 4 fractures to the vertebrae in both my upper and lower spine and 4 broken ribs in my upper rib cage. I spent a total of 11 nights in the hospital including 4 nights in the icu. I have not been cleared to return to work and instill under medical care. I understand there was a airbag/steering column recall on other f150s but I strongly suspect that the reveal needs to be expanded to mite vehicles such as mine. All the doctors that treated me said my injuries were the direct result of the steering wheel airbag not deploying. The state trooper that reined me from my vehicle , as well as one of the witnesses both told me that my steering airbag did not deeply. I also have pictures as well.

15 Adaptive Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2022

On several occasions, the cruise control has failed to disengage when applying the brake. It does not happen every time but it is unsettling when it does happen. When it does happen, the engine and the baking system are working against each other.
