There is a warning on my dash when the vehicle is placed in reverse: reverse brake assist not available see manual. This concern has a TSB attached to it. My concern is that given the safety nature of this concern affecting f150s and Ford mustangs; this should be covered by the manufacturer and not the consumer. Ford will repair, however, invoice the customer for the cost which I do not agree with. I am not certain how many vehicles are affected or if it rises to the occasion of a safety recall; but should be investigated further. Thank you!.
We left home and only made it about 100 yards. There was not a trailer attached. We had already stopped at a stop sign, then took off again. As we were going up a slight hill giving it a little gas, there was a loud thud and a sudden jolt, and the truck rapidly slowed down. I tried to give it gas to continued and the engine reved up, but our movement stopped. I realized that the emergency brake had engaged for some reason, so I pressed the button to turn it off, then we were able to continue. We haven't had anyone to look at it yet, and we haven't seen a recall yet.
Giving an error of reverse assist and not available when starting truck and when placing truck in reverse. Have look up to seen if included in the recall that was issued 6 days ago. Have called dealership to confirm that not part of recall. The message just showed up last night. This truck should be included in the recall.
I was in the parking lot of my local grocery store, and the truck all of a sudden gave me an indicator that there is a "park brake fault-service now. " I was stranded and had to have someone pick me up for this, this is after hours so I cannot call the Ford dealership until the following day. I now see Ford issued a recall for this under 23s35. However, when I look up my VIN under Ford, that did not show, and thus, we did not address this earlier when that should have happened. That is a problem and needs to be addressed with Ford ASAP. What if I was driving and this happened??!!.
My truck thinks my parking brake is engaged so it constantly flashes the “brake” light, constantly chimes while driving and says parking break malfunction, talk to dealer. I brought it to webber family Ford in detroit lakes mn 56501 and they checked it over including the safety recall location for recall 23s35. They said it was not the recall location and I would have to bring it in Monday for another appointment. When I got it home that day I crawled under to check that location. I see visible green which usually means corrosion and the protection around the harness seems warm. I also noticed the "recall" was not completed how it is shown on Fords recall paperwork using the zip tie as a wear location so it isn't the harness itself. That is not how mine is. I have photos to prove that. I spoke with corporate Ford today and they said they can't re open the recall because it has been closed and it is past its 12 month warranty being it was done in October of 2023 before my ownership and at a different dealer. I don't believe it is fair to me the current owner to pay for the cost of a rerepair of a recall that was done incorrectly.
Rear backup camera and distance sensors stopped working. The issue is intermittent this issue could have resulted in an accident or injury/fatality due to no image sensor information no dealer involvement at this time no outside inspections at this time no prior warnings or messages were given before the failure.
I was traveling 47 mph and suddenly the parking brake was activated, causing the car to brake instantly. Luckily, no one was behind me and luckily it did not cause an accident. There were no lights on the dashboard. I took it to the Ford dealer to have it inspected and they gave me an appointment for 8 days later and let me go home knowing that I could not drive it since I almost caused an accident.
Continues issues with the electrical and hybrid system. This is the second time of complete vehicle failure, although the power steering went out completely and the automatic parking brake briefly activated before the truck completely failed / quit running.
I was slowing to a stop at a stoplight in traffic when the brake pedal dropped to the floor and the truck was no longer slowing. The abs, anti collision, and check brake system lights all illuminated. I was able to slow the truck and place in park to stop. Vehicle was taken to dealership where it was found to be in perfect condition according to the mechanic. I have been told that I should have no issue taking the vehicle although nothing has been resolved.
Truck was repair as per the recall of the emergency brake however is still applying the parking brake again and took it to have it scan but Ford dealer ship says they don't find no codes or anything saying it does and I'm just scared of continuing to put myself and my family at risk when is still applying the emergency brake whenever it wants. So far has done it over 3 times in a period of a few moths after the recall was supposedly been done for that same reason. On the picture I'm posting here is the invoice of the repair of the recall. Is in spanish part of it but all the numbers of the recall are there.
After braking to enter drive way. The truck accelerated spontaneously causing vehicle to hit a wall. Similarly on previous occasions the truck has lurched forward when releasing the brake after coming to a complete stop at red lights or stop signs.
On 3 occasions the emergency break applied itself while vehicle still moving and all of them was parking the vehicle but not got to fully stop when e brake applied itself. Also took it to the dealer nut they didn't find anything wrong with the vehicle.
(June 14, 2023) while traveling at 55mph the vehicle suddenly accelerated for about 2-3 seconds and several dashboard lights turned on and flashed not available. (abs, traction control, blinds spot, pre-collision) I safely pulled over turned the truck off, waited a few seconds. Turned the truck back on, and abs light was solid on the dashboard. I drove another 15 miles stopped again, and when I restarted the check engine light remained solid. After inspecting the truck, I found gear oil leaking from the right rear tire. I removed the plastic hub cap and discovered sheared off axle bolt. Truck was delivered to dealer for repair.
I was driving with my wife and our one month old baby on I-25 in albuquerque on a hot day (truck screen indicated 106 f) when suddenly the advancetrac traction control, forward pre-collision braking, adaptive cruise control, and abs system warnings all came on the dashboard. At the same time the brake pedal went limp (no braking action for the first ~50% of the pedal press). I slowed the truck by coasting for over a mile and picked an off-ramp that I expected to be empty before getting off the highway. Upon exiting the highway, I pressed the brake pedal all the way down and at 90-95% of the pedal compression the brakes finally engaged but locked up the rear wheels leading us to skip and skid across two lanes. We were able to come to a stop in the middle of the ramp and then gently moved over to the side of the exit, again locking up the rear wheels when we came to a stop. Upon turning the truck off and turning it back on again everything went back to normal suggesting that it was some subsystem that caused the electronic brake booster and abs to become unresponsive. After a week at the local Ford dealer, the service technicians were able to find the error code c05cf. This error code appears to be officially only triggered by "brake master cylinder piston position sensor "b" -this dtc sets due to incomplete or improper module programming procedures. " which suggests this problem may have been lingering for over 30k miles of use. Ford technicians updated the traction control module firmware, body control module firmware, and then reproduced the issue leading them to perform an abs system calibration which they claim fixed the issue. It is claimed that no component replacement was necessary, only software updates and calibration. Full dealer notes attached as . Pdf it's crazy to think a software bug caused our brake system to almost entirely fail on the highway, particularly with an error code that should only have been able to been generated at the factory.
The vehicle no longer sends signal when blind spot monitors are triggered front parking camera access not available rear view mirrors do not have blinker lights or original camera working.

1. The passenger and drivers side modules were replaced by the dealership but the issues still persist and are available for inspection upon request. 2. Safety could be at risk. The system failure messages did appear at the time of failure. They started appearing approximately a week after we purchased the truck. First warning is logged in the Fordpass app on June 13, 2021 I get three warnings pretty consistently when the system fails. So far the Fordpass app has over100 error messages regarding my issue. The warning messages all show up at the same time. They are usually: 1. Blind spot system fault 2. Cross traffic system fault 3. Reverse brake assist not available see manual (even though it is turned on) 4. Hill start assist error occurs as well 5. Sometimes when I am in reverse and these go off and I then brake with the foot pedal, the electronic emergency brake engaged without any manual intervention. First 3 errors have happened while reversing and while driving in normal city street and highway speeds. Taking into the dealer to have it looked at again on Nov. 4, 2021. Issues started 06/13/2021 and continue to present (as of this writing 10/25/2021).
