Paint Problems of Ford F-150 - part 1

Oil pan repair was unsuccessful. Began leaking 17,000 miles after initial warranty repair. Truck currently has 71,000 miles. 2nd issue is paint over windshield is peeling. It appears tape was not removed and primer did not adhere.

Paint bubbled around the centre high mount stop light. Service advisor at galloway Ford said it was rust and a common problem and would cost around $1200. 00 to repair. Also advised that rust in this area is prone to reoccur. Dealer recommended I call Ford customer support. Ford customer support said that this was "normal wear and tear" and refused to correct the problem. My vehicle has 62k miles on it and is washed and waxed on a regular basis. Nowhere else on the truck are there signs of rust. Vehicle was taken to collision experts in cape coral florida for repair. Collision experts stated that this was a manufacture paint defect and is a common problem around the high mount stop lights. The high mount stop light was removed, rear window removed, rear seats removed in order to properly repair this defect. This was an $800. 00 repair.

Vehicle exhaust leaks into cabin. Ford says not covered under warranty. Paint falling off fenders. Ford says not covered under warranty. Back up camera worked until Ford dealer worked on it, has not worked since then and dealer (house Ford address: 3538 hwy 61 w, red wing, mn 55066) wont or can't fix it.

I notice numerous of f 150 like mine paint on hood and cab fading. All the rest of the body paint is great. There should be a recall on these items. Ford should let customers bring truck in for a touch up or paint job.

2012. Went to great lakes Ford ludington mi. Paint on rocker panel was blistering up with water underneath. At where the doors latch on hook . They would not do anything. It was under warranty. Now rusting very bad called in 4/17/18. Ford still will not do anything . I now put oil on it to slow it down . Im very worried that if I get into an accident. That the doors will come open. It's. On both sides . I have 103000 miles on it. The seat belts go through the doors so if the doors open I would be out of the truck. Thank you for your time.

The paint is peeling off of my truck. Their is no visible rust behind it just gray primer. I have viewed several complaints on-line about Ford vehicles and paint issues. This was purchased and a certified pre-owned vehicle.

Personnel / non commercial pick up purchased new by myself-less than 26k miles I live inland not by the ocean or salt air the paint is blistering with rust bubbles.

2015 Ford F-150. Consumer writes in regards to sun roof rattles/popping noise issues. Consumer states dealership refuses to buy back vehicle. The consumer stated after purchasing the vehicle, he noticed a problem with the roof, weather stripping and the paint was peeling. The dealer replaced the weather stripping, repainted the roof of the cab. Ford engineers did not know how to correct the popping noise.

My 2000 Ford xl triton is great. It has 201,000 miles and runs like a new vehicle. My problem is that the paint has bubbbled and peeled back. It has left some light rust spots under the paint. I would like to have it fixed. After talking with other owners, they said the problem is the thickness of the painy.

I observed at least 6 areas on the roof of my truck where the paint is peeling away from the body. There is obvious rust under all the spots. I have also noticed a musty smell in my car. I took the vehicle to body shop at the dealership and they stated that since there was no perforation in the sheet metal, it was not covered under warranty. I pointed to the service technician that if it were one spot I could see that as possibly something may have chipped the paint and caused the problem but for it to happen in at least 6 areas spread out around the roof that it was a defect in material or workmanship and should be covered under the warranty. The technician said I should contact Ford directly but they would probably deny the claim. Based on what I found online which includes at least 7 NHTSA documented complaints as well as other complaints about paint problems with Ford vehicles it would appear that Ford has a problem at their factories that should be investigated. I plan to go back to the dealership now that I know about the problem with the third brake light and leaks around it, as well as contacting Ford headquarters for resolution.

Ford f150 paint is starting to peel on rear tail gate, sides and under rear window. Looks like there is no primer. We have seen other f150s with same paint issues in the same areas. Is this a new problem with Ford f150s? haven't taken it to dealership yet. Date is approximate.

2007 f150 purchased new. In the spring of 2010 I started noticing the paint bubble on the leading edge of the hood. Subsequently the paint has started to fall off. There are no prior maintenance activities which would have caused this (e. G. Re-paint / accident damage). The remainder of the paint is showroom quality, it appears to be limited to the hood area.

The paint on my 2004 Ford f150 is bubbling and rusting on the rear quarter panel and Ford refuses to fix it despite the fact that its a known issue.

Defective paint job. Paint is bubbling off of truck just when being sprayed with garden hose. Local Ford dealer claims that it is not Ford's problem. Cost is customer's responsibility.

Paint peeling in small sheets around edges of hood. Several complaints found online but, can find no recall on vehicle. Has aluminum hood also. Only paint peeling as primer still showing.

2005 Ford f150 (22k) has several areas where paint is blistering.

I own a 2008 Ford f150 with 12,000 miles. Bought the truck brand new in Feb 08. With only 453 miles on the truck I noticed many paint defects : the paint under the hood was blistering off, the paint on the pillar behind the drivers side rear door was messed up, Ford fixed these issues then shortly after that I had more blistering paint under the hood and a haze on the drivers side front fender. Then one day as I am washing the truck I notice the paint is bubbling on the passenger side doors.

Paint blistering off aluminum hood. Two spots where the hood meets the grill about the size of my xl fist and growing. Under the hood around the edges showing signs of blistering. Washing the hood (not power washing -- by hand) dislodged all the paint off in these areas and now is down to pitted aluminum.

I have a 2006 Ford F-150 that has paint peeling off the front cap just below the grill. What really concerns me is that I work for a large company that has hundreds of Ford vehicles and most of the 2004, 2005, & 2006 models are peeling as well. What is Ford going to do about this. . I find this very un-acceptable. .

Paint peeling off on body. White in color,never neglected, always washed, waxed etc. Well known and documented problem. Contacted Ford many times and always get told they will do nothing because it is out of warranty. They then told me they have upgraded many things on their new trucks and should consider getting a new one. I doubt I will ever get another Ford if they can mess up something as simple as paint. This is a Ford defect and they should be forced to fix it. I have a car that is 10 years older than my Ford and the paint looks better.

My factory paint is bubbling up and peeling looks like it is rusting. The hood is all aluminum so it is oxidizing. And more and more paint is coming off.

Hood paint and roof paint peeling up for the last 7 years. It started with small blistering and what appeared to be just a few knicks on the hood. However it quickly spread and the entire hood as well as roof are in need of a paint job due to rust. I am the original owner and have apps 129000 miles on it.

Within a couple years of manufacture noticed oxidation appearing on underside of hood, and some paint blistering on front edge of upper side of hood. These issues have worsened over time.

The coil packs and plugs have been changed on different times and the vehicle still has the same problems. Ford has to find a better solution to fix these ongoing issues so the customer does not have to keep paying all this money for the same problems over and over again. Engine lost power on several occasions and shakes when idling. Paint on front of vehicle started peeling off. All service work has been conducted a t a Ford dealership since the vehicle was purchased except for today with (2) more coil packs had to be installed at a local garage. This is apparently a big problem and something has to be done about it or Ford will find good customers going to other vehicle brands.

The paint on the hood of the 2000 f150 truck started bubbling and the paint on the running boards started to flake away. In both areas the paint came off in spots in both areas. While driving I have seen this on numerous f150s, explorers and other Ford vehicles. I even noticed this on the passenger's door of a brand new show room Ford model.
