The contact stated while driving 55 mph on a flat road surface, the vehicle made an abnormal exploding sound, and the contact noticed that the panoramic sunroof rear glass panel had shattered without impact. Took my vehicle to Ford dealership to have leaking sunroof checked, had it repaired for broken track, but the amazing things was the price that Ford charge me for the repair of the sunroof track which was $5507. 49, wasn’t really told why it cost me so much being that it’s a 2018. I do have the receipt, and has been trying to find a lawyer to try and recover some of my losses. Please let me know what I should do about this repair.

Saved the portion of the clip that broke off.

No damage to rear roof pane over cab. Truck running perfectly. Glass shard concentration on middle console and middle of cab floor.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the door drains were inspected and drained; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to a second dealer, Ford service (1401 s beacon blvd, grand haven, mi 49417), where it was diagnosed that the sunroof rivets were installed incorrectly, causing water intrusion into the sunroof and curtain air bags. The dealer diagnosed that the sunroof, the sunroof frame and the curtain air bags needed to be replaced. The dealer forwarded the diagnostic report to the manufacturer, and the manufacturer agreed to partially cover the repair cost. However, the contact stated that the failure was due to a manufacturer’s defect; therefore, the manufacturer should completely cover the repair. The vehicle was not repaired.
