Three problems related to power steering hose, piping, and connections have been reported for the 1997 Ford F-250. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While driving steering failed. As a result, driver was unable to control the vehicle. Dealer stated that power steering hose blew off. No collision reported.
Loss of power steering while pulling into a parking lot. Problem was due to a erupted high pressue hose fitting into power steering pump; dealer was notified. Feel free to provide any further information concerning this matter.
High pressure power steering hose failed at the quick connector on the discharge of the power steering pump. The connector came apart and caused a rapid loss of fluid and loss of steering assistance.
