Four problems related to front suspension lower ball joint have been reported for the 2001 Ford F-250. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
: the contact stated while pulling into the driveway at 5 mph, the tie rod on the vehicle fell off. The vehicle was taken to a private repair shop, where it was determined that the ball joint had rusted through. Updated 08/14/06.
Premature failure of both upper and lower ball joints and both left and right ball joints. Failure occurred at 50,000 miles.

Vehicle's front left and right lower ball joints failed at different times not from usual wear and tear. Lower ball joints had to be replaced.
