The contact owns a 2002 Ford F-250. The contact stated that the accelerator pedal failed to respond without warning. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the technician diagnosed that a wire shortage and the transmission shift lever needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 215,000 and the current mileage was 215,100.
On two occasions, I have had my truck in park and the keys removed and the truck rolled. It was not fully in park. I was on a slight incline both times, once facing forward and once backed in. I took it to the dealer after the first time and they adjusted the shifter. I now have to take it back in since it did it again.
