general problems of the 2002 Ford F-250

My family is Ford motor dedicated and as we buy new trucks the old ones are passed on to other family members. We purchased three new trucks and having problems with two. They are Ford 2002 f250 super duty with the 7. 3 l diesel. Both trucks have had there defective injector wire harnesses replaced, shorted out on the interstate causing the engines to shut completely down. No steering, brakes, nothing. I was told by the tech that the wiring is defective and the oil and heat is what was caused the failure, he has seen this repair quit often. The other problem is acceleration to pass or get up to speed quickly going on the interstate or anywhere, when you depress the throttle pedal quickly there is nothing like it just fell on its face. After you take your foot of the pedal and count about 5 seconds and try it again it will work. Big safety issue. I have had 4 close calls and cant afford to repair this truck all the time on v. A. Ford refused to do anything, even with Ford service action 03b03 and even with a law suite pending courts approval. Customer satisfaction program 10b16. My truck dropped to idle in the middle of a left turn hauling a 12,000 lb trailer. It was a terrible start to a vacation to the coast.

Our barn and contents burned down on June 14, 2010. Fire investigators believe the fire started with our 2002 Ford F-250 truck that was parked inside. Found out afterwards that there is a recall on the truck for a sensor that can cause fire even while vehicle is not running.

I received a recall in October 2009 for my Ford F-250 pick up (Ford recall 05s28) I took the vehicle in for repair and was told that the defective part (speed control deactivation switch) caused brake fluid to leak into the wiring harness and fuse panel damaging both to the point they need to be replaced. I was told that Ford would only replace the bad part and not the damage it caused. Ford repair tech told me defective part caused damage described above and after dealing with several different people from Ford and customer service they still refuse to fix the damage estimated at over $2000. I filed complaint with bbb but they stated this item could not be covered by them as the vehicle is over 3 years old. I have been without the vehicle for over 2 months and can find no agency to help me. I tried several forms of recourse with Ford to no avail. They state the recall was issued to long ago however the notice I received in October 2009 was the first I received on the matter. Can you help me?.

The contact owns a 2002 Ford F-250. While driving 70 mph, the contact noticed from the rear that the vehicle had a leak. Within seconds, he noticed smoke coming from a vent and underneath the hood. He pulled over and had the passenger check under the vehicle, where he noticed dripping. The passenger proceeded to remove the contact from the vehicle because he was in a wheel chair. Seconds later, the vehicle caught fire. A fire report was filed. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer twice to have the VIN checked for NHTSA campaign id number 07v336000 (vehicle speed control), but the dealer stated that the VIN was excluded from the recall. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and the insurance company will have someone inspect the vehicle; however, they were unsure if the cause of the fire will be investigated. The current and failure mileages were 85,000.

Any range of rpm while driving & occasionally while idling my truck has stalled and engine dies. It has, so far, restarted quickly and I continue on my way. This occurs in heavy to moderate traffic and when the truck dies you lose power steering & power brakes. I have been told to replace my cps (cam position sensor) by a Ford mechanic and I intend to do that today. My truck is not safe to drive in it's current condition of random stalling.

While driving, and without warning, the vehicle accelerated at a high rate of speed.

The module actavating the torque converter is engaging at idle, causing transmission to engage, and vehicle to surged forward without manually applying accelerator.
