Brake Disc Pads problems of the 2003 Ford F-250

Three problems related to brake disc pads have been reported for the 2003 Ford F-250. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Brake Disc Pads problem

Failure Date: 04/19/2010

I own a 2003 Ford f250 7. 3 liter diesel pickup. On inspection, required by PA law for safety reasons, it failed because of rotor rust. I then had to replace all four brakes and rotors at a considerable cost to me. . The truck had 33,309 miles on it and was stored and used similar to three other older vehicles I owned the same thing occurred on this truck at 19,750 miles when it was 3 years old. The earlier rust issue was covered under warranty. Rusting brake pads are unacceptable in today's world. I have never had this type of problem in the past and suspect Ford is using sub standard steel. Other parts on this truck have rusted out and I will enter separate reports on those problems.

2 Brake Disc Pads problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2005

Contact stated the rotors warped on 2003 Ford F-250 super duty. The service dealer and the manufacturer refused to repair the rotors under the warranty. A mechanic that test drove the vehicle and stated that the rotors were warped. Consumer stated when he put the brakes on there was pulsation in the brake pedal. This was the original equipment on the vehicle. The brake pads have not been replaced since consumer has had the vehicle.

3 Brake Disc Pads problem

Failure Date: 02/03/2004

I had scheduled a service appointment for my 2003 f250 sd cc 4x4 to have directionals repaired. On drop off, I asked to have the brakes checked for an intermittent pulling to the left on hard braking. Two days later I checked on the status and was told that there was a pulling to the left and that a service bulletin had been issued by Ford. Three weeks later the brake pads, calibers and front leaf springs have been replaced and it still pulls. Awaiting for a Ford service representation to look at the vehicle.
