Seven problems related to automatic transmission have been reported for the 2004 Ford F-250. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
2004 Ford f250 6. 0 diesel. Started shuddering a bit while goind from park, drive to reverse. I found transmission fluid on my garage floor, took the truck to the dealer for repair. 4000 dollars to fix a hole in the transmission caused by identical circumstances involving Ford recall 05b27. The mechanic pulled the "oasis" report and found no recall for my vehicle based on the "VIN". I have contacted Ford with no satisfaction. I was advised to pay for the repair and maybe there will be a recall at a future date, at which point I would be reimbursed. Again, this defect is exactly the same as described in recall 05b27. There is no difference in what happened to my vehicle and what Ford tried to stem with the recall. It is an admitted engineering defect which should give cause for an expanded recall.
The contact owns a 2004 Ford f250. After approaching a stop sign, the contact attempted to accelerate and the vehicle failed to move; however, she was able to drive in reverse and then forward without any hesitation. The vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealer. There were no prior warning signs. The current and failure mileages were 165000.
Consumer states: they were traveling transmission went out. Took vehicle to the dealer, rebuilt transmission and got back on the road. Driving less than 1000 miles and the transmission went out again. Before being rebuilt the vehicle wouldn't shift into overdrive, and then after being rebuilt shifted hard and then everything went out. A new transmission was installed and now the vehicle runs properly.
The vehicle was on the road when all of a sudden it went from drive to neutral on its own. Owner will take to dealer for checkup.
Transmission on 04 f 250 suddenly went into neutral in traffic. I was almost rear ended by a loaded dump truck. The truck is at the dealer ship now and they are telling me a recalled part caused the problem. I have heard of no recalls. Ford customer relations tells me that the program has been out for two weeks . Does someone have to die first come on please help!!!!!!!!.
While driving at any speed vehicle stalled. Consumer had the vehicle towed. Dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem. The consumer multiple failures due to remote start, fuel sensors, and fuel components. The consumer stated that when the vehicle stalls it looses all power.
I own a 2004 Ford f250 diesel crew cab 4x4. We have the lariet package along with the camper and off road packages. Current miles are 3600. Ehaven't towed anything behind this new truck yet. On Sunday Aug. 1,2004, my wife was driving and noticed that the transmission would not shift into overdrive. The tow/haul light on the dash was flashing. I took the truck to mike davidson Ford the next morning Aug. 2,2004. They dropped the pan off the transmission and found metal shavings along with a bad sensor. The truck is still in the shop. I wanted to know if other new Ford trucks equiped the same way were having simular problems. The dealership said this was a rare condition for this type vehicle.
