I purchased this truck in January 2023. Drove just fine for 2 months and started having this issue. While driving my 2004 f250 sd 6. 0l turbodiesel 4x4, (egr deleted, bulletproofed and studded engine, cold air intake, oil cooler, sct x4 tuner) a "fizzle" noise was heard more on passenger side; acting like fuel wasn't reaching engine; and truck stalled right after noise was heard. Wouldn't restart on a hot engine. Crank-no start. Drained both batteries attempting to restart. Restarted after cold engine but would stalled out and not be able to restart while hot engine. Replaced both fuel filters, fuel pump, some module in front bumper relating to fuel system. A friend that knows diesel engines has been trying to find out why its operating the way it is. I treated the gas tank to (2) seafoam for trucks and had valvoline in ferndale, wa do an oil change after purchasing it. Recalls say that they've been done, but could this issue be caused by the ficm recall?.
The contact owns a 2004 Ford F-250. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed and attempting to accelerate, the vehicle jerked and briefly lost motive power before the vehicle stalled. No warning lights were illuminated. After several attempts, the vehicle restarted. The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic; however, no cause for the failure was found. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number 05v270000 (electrical system); however, the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
I was driving in nampa around 5pm when my truck lost power my fuel peddle had 0 response tried to pull off the road almost had an accident because truck died losing steering power and brakes was hard to push truck had lost the voltage board in the ficm. Upon going over forums this is a major common issue amongst many Ford owners. I also have a ground short from unknown location not sure as to what has caused this but assuming it has to do with the wiring harnesses to the ficm. I feel Ford should be in repair of this due to the large amount of issues across the nation of 6. 0 owners but this is a very dangerous situation for owners. Not having steering control in such a large truck is extremely dangers. Previous owner had same issue and replaced the ficm and said it shouldn’t ever be an issue I feel there is a wiring issue that needs to be addressed.
Vehicle loses all power-stalls and loses function when idling. Has occurred when exiting freeway way and in a regular neighborhood streets. Need to restart after stall.
Reduced powered under a grade/load. Reduced acceleration. Bogs down, cannot reach speeds higher than 40-45 mph, up hill.
Takara recall I was driving down the freeway when the check engine light came on I all the sudden had a loss of power and it was like the motor was sputtering like it had a misfire after that it's very hard to start and barely moves it comes up with multiple injector codes that all failed at the same time some high some low.
2004 Ford f250 sd 6. 0l sputters, lunges & dies out when idle, waiting in traffic or driving slowly. Luckily, it's been starting right back up. It has been occurring quite often lately. Looked up possible causes and found recall 05v270000 from 2005, which seems to be the exact issue I am having. Called Ford and was told there are zero recalls pertaining to this truck and that that particular recall does not include my truck. I have seen many of the same complaints about this same exact vehicle and how this issue hadn't been covered under said recall. I have the NHTSA recall no ea05003, but it has timed out and is no longer available for viewing on this site. Please realize that all these same vehicle owners are having the same dangerous issue and it isn't being taken seriously by Ford or the NHTSA.

Driving the vehicle 20mph lost all power to engine, left without power steering, brakes or control of vehicle. Pulled over and tried to start vehicle, it did not start, but after a few minutes it restarted. This has happened three times in February 2015. I contacted Ford motor company, was assigned a case number. She checked on nthsa recall 05v270000. She stated that the repairs to this vehicle have already been completed and that I was now on my own in regards to repairs. While doing research, I have found out that people are still having some problems regarding this issue. Ford seems to have washed their hands of this issue of responsibility regarding their vehicles. This is why I am filing a case.

Our 2004 f250 diesel 4x4 super duty was parked in the driveway overnight, properly plugged in due to the cold. A neighbor woke us up to state it was on fire. The entire front and interior of the truck was engulfed in flames before the fire department arrived. After it was extinguished, the county fireman pointed the believed the point of ignition appeared to be at the firewall on the drivers side due to the fact that the master brake cylinder & battery were disintegrated. Plus the secondary battery & radiator were partially intact which are in the front. The fire dept stated that if it had been a frontal point of ignition due to the block heater the radiator & battery on front passenger side would've burned first due to aluminum materials.

2004 Ford f250 super duty egr valve & oil cooler at a cost of $2400. 00 to have my truck fixed. There are allot of other complants posted but it looks like no one is doing anything to get after Ford motors to recall this big expensive problem to consumers. Its bad enough the trucks cost so much. Ford is able to increase their profits by not recalling and fixing this expensive problem. I'm a disabled veteran and it took all my money for a month to get my truck back. I could not buy food or pay my bills because it went to getting my truck back with only 1/4 tank of fuel. So now I cannot drive anywhere until the Dec 1 2011 when my next government check comes. Please help.
Fuel injection control module ( ficm) failed , recall campaign 05v270000, NHTSA action #- ea05003.
The engine stalls without warning while driving. There is already a recall but it did not include my vehicle. Nhtsa campaign id number 05v270000 NHTSA action number ea05003. The problem with my vehicle is identical to this and the remedy was identical however, it cost me $350. 00 because my vehicle was built a month to late or to early, not sure.
Purchased a 2004 Ford f250 superduty 6. 0 liter diesel in April in June it began to stall out after changing both fuel filters and the air filter it continued to have this problem until it just won't start anymore have tried to resolve the situation with the dealer but with no help there don't know what to do until I seen the recall upon doing some research on the internet.
I bought this 2004 Ford F-250,6. 0 diesel in may 2010 with 160k miles on it because lots of people told me to buy a diesel it would give me better performance than gas. I have had nothing but troubles ever since. It started not starting about 2 weeks after I bought it. The Ford house is no help at all. Ive had it there several times and all it done was cost me money. It has never stopped running driving down the road like the other complaints iv'e read. But it has left me stranded 50 or 75 times, sometimes it will run perfect for months and all at once it wont start. Showing no codes Ford says they cant do a thing. In July last summer it did it 1500 miles from home on vacation. I had a wrecker take it to a shop and $7500. 00 and 6 weeks later they had put a new engine in it (said the camshaft broke and scored the piston wall) I came home now 6 months later its doing it again. I cant afford to take it to Ford, I cant trade it. What to do??.
2004 250 super duty diesel pick up. Consumer would like to know if there will be a congressional hearing against Ford motor corporation. The consumer stated during the summer of 2006, a surging issue started when driving on the freeway and in stop and go traffic. The dealer replaced numerous sensors, but the problem continued. The consumer also stated the vehicle stalled on the highway several times. The dealer was unable to determine the problem.
2004 Ford f250, diesel, manufacture date: 02/2004. Vehicle stalls while driving, loss of all power, including power steering. No crank/ no start condition. Has stalled five times. Reference NHTSA case ea5003, Ford recall 05s34. Truck currently at power Ford, torrance, 310 784-4700. Power Ford refuses to do required work. Untruthful regarding recall stating that there is no recall on my vehicle when my vehicle description and manufacture date clearly falls within the specified period and displays the symptoms exactly as stated within the recall number and NHTSA case summary. This condition is extremely unsafe. Ford is not living up to their obligation to make the mandatory repair.
While driving, I began to smell smoke in the cab of my truck. I then opened my windows and continued to drive for about a 1/4 mile more until a surge of heavy smoke began to pour in to the cab via the a/c vents. I stopped the truck, and opened the hood. The passenger side of the engine compartment was on fire. I called the fire department and they came to extinguish the fire about 10 minutes later. Almost all of the electrical components and a/c system is burnt. I'm not sure if the truck runs, I am currently waiting for it to be repaired.
Ford 2004 f250 6l diesel Ford recall work done no. 05s34. This has not fixed the stalling-stumble problem. Had in seven times and Ford cannot fix, starts hard, does not shift properly. Vehicle was and is dangerous. Now we have an oil leak, owned five other Fords, never again.

2004 F-250 king ranch fx4 with 6. 0l diesel engine, all stock condition as ordered and received on February 11, 2004. Dealer made programming change to the pcm on July 12, 2004, but vehicle has not run correctly since problematic symptoms began on 7/10/04. Symptoms include: (1) lack of power and studdering from 600 rpm to 1,200 rpm followed by a sudden and unprovoked increase in power. (2) rhythm tic increases and decreases (surging) of approximately 2,000 rpm in the turbocharger at cruise (even while on cruise control). (3) check engine light remains on. The continuous surging of the turbocharger will result in a premature failure of the turbine followed by fatigue and eventual failure of the transmission.
Turbo lag, stall, hesitation, electrical.
The vehicle's engine has shut down without warning four times. The fuses and parking lights were replaced. The theft alarm was disabled.
