Two problems related to underhood wiring have been reported for the 2004 Ford F-250. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The contact owns a 2004 Ford F-250. The contact stated that while driving at speeds of 65 mph and higher, the vehicle would continuously stall. The contact stated that the failure was caused by the main wiring harness rubbing against the injector control module causing a shortage. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where a new wiring harness and injector module were installed. The failure mileage was 158,000 and the current mileage was 170,000.
While driving approximately 30 mph on dry level pavement, the engine returned to idle with no power. Pulled over to a safe place and tried again after re-starting. Drove approximately â½ mile and the engine stalled. No warning lights were on and after many more attempts, the vehicle had to be towed. Dealer located and replaced burned wiring harness directly below the turbo charger.
