Three problems related to other fuel system fuel injection system have been reported for the 2004 Ford F-250. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The contact owns a 2004 Ford F-250 sd. The contact stated that while driving 65 mph, the check engine warning lamp illuminated then the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was moved to the shoulder where the contact attempted to restart it but to no avail. The vehicle was able to be restarted 30 minutes later. The vehicle was personally diagnosed by the contact who found that the fuel injection control module had failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified about the issue and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number 05v270000 (electrical system). The approximate failure mileage was 142,200.
Vehicle requiring repeat repairs for same problem, 3 injectors replaced on separate occasions, computer reprogramming, egr valve replaced.
I own a 2004 Ford F-250 with the 6. 0 diesel motor. I have complained that on cold mornings, the motor makes a loud hammering noise, shakes & is very weak. Finally, just short of the 1000,000 mile warranty, they agree that in fact it is faulty & needs 5 injectors replaced. However they won't replace them until I prove that every oil change was made on time. Who can prove 99,000 miles of oil changes. I believe its an excuse, so they won't have to do the work.
