1 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 03/25/2025

Electrical system fails every day. It affects the engine, transmission, radio, windows, gauges. Wiring issue causes the radio to just go out, windows stop working, all gauges stops working, the transmission doesn't shift right, engine doesn't run right. Yes vehicle is available for inspecting. Engine cuts off and won't start back, leaves you stranded side the road. Truck stalls in front of other vehicles. Windows won't roll down when it's 100 degrees inside truck. Fuel gauge doesn't let you know when there's no fuel again leaving you stranded beside the road. Other gauge don't work could cause more damage. Yes it has been inspected my mechanic and he said there are wiring issues. No warning lamps or anything now but the wrench light has came on allot. There is a wiring recall on this year truck but said mine doesn't fall under that recall and I don't know why because I'm having this issue.

2 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/03/2024

Wrench light comes on, but truck goes into limp loses power very dangerous don't know if it's going to cause me to be rear-ended, steering goes back and forth right to left can't hardly hold it in road.

3 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 04/10/2024

The back bed rails rot/rust very quickly and trying to buy new beds run 4500$ along with O2 sensors ir intake sensors go out of blue no reasoning let alone the power steering lines rusting very very quickly.

4 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 07/11/2020

Cruise control would not disengage. When my husband pressed the brakes, the car sped up. We had to pass 5 vehicles, barely enough room. He finally turned the motor off and was able to pull off the freeway (i70). But for the grace not god, we would have died of injured ourselves and others. Brakes should never make your car speed up.

5 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2017

When stepping on brakes while directional is on the directionals stop functioning while in motion and turning which is a serious safety hazard im wondering why NHTSA 11v352000 is allowing Ford to only repair certain vins especially when my year make and model are specified in the summary. With the same exact symptoms???.

10 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/24/2013

Failure to start, no warning, no codes , turns over but no further info. Sent to the dealer for eval, fuel injector control module (ficm). Failure , after replacing of the wireless foot assembly pedal 2 weeks ago. Just another ongoing issue related to this 6. 0 , which prior stalls without warning , refuse to run without mishaps for period of time Ford should be responsible to fix or replace this vehicle.

11 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/17/2012

Bought vehicle used in Nov,2011. About 4 months later started having problems with engine power. Was told by Ford dealership that I bought it from would need to rebuild engine, should be covered under extended warranty (involved egr, gaskets and bent head bolts). Call Ford extended warranty people. Refused to pay anything. Now truck has about 96000 miles on it and the truck is stalling out while driving down the road, took back to dealership again, was told that the injectors are the problem now. Decided to check out recalls on this veh. And found out several things (1) that Ford had a recall for the injectors and (2) that the problems before were probably caused by this. Called the recall center at Ford and was told that VIN # did not match up to any recalls, even though it was on 180000 05 Ford f250 sd. Was also told to check with extended warranty that is also through Ford. Once this is fixed will have more money invested in this and rebuilding engine 6 months ago than the truck is worth. No more Fords for us.

12 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/19/2011

The vehicle lost power at approx. 65mph engine went into idle mode without any warning. I was able to avoid other vehicles on the interstate and coasted to a stop . The engine remained in idle mode and when the accelerator was pressed the engine did not increase in rpms. I turned the off the engine and when trying to restart in turned over, but would not fire up. After a couple of tries it finally started and I drove home. The second incident occurred on Dec. 26th 2011. The truck was driven to the store without any problems after returning and trying to start it up the engine would not fire. Finally after a couple of tries it finally started and I drove approx. Two miles , pulled into the driveway and it went into idle mode again. I turned the engine off but it will now not restart. I will have to get it towed to a repair shop, this could have had very serious consequences . The interstate traffic was lite and I was able to switch lanes even though I was coasting without power with the engine idling. A couple of vehicles had to hit the brakes as I moved over. If I had come to a stop in the middle of the interstate without power it could have easily resulted in a major accident. With the potential loss of life or serious injury.

13 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2011

It took several times before I could crank my truck and once it was started it smoked badly but did eventually clear up. It spit and sputtered on the way to work so I dropped it off at the mechanics shop. The mechanic inspected it and the fuel injector module was bad. I researched the recall list and called the Ford dealership in mobile, al based on the recall list to have the problem repaired; gave them my VIN and was told that my vehicle was not included in any recalls. The dealership offered to repair the module for $900. 00 however the NHTSA id # 05v270000 says there is a recall concerning this issue.

14 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 07/11/2011

Re odi report 10319552 : solution finally reached regarding my 2005 f250 super duty and the check engine light along with lack of accelleration . It has been diagnosed as the intake manifold runner control this device is apparently faulty as you reasearch it it is common on all Ford 5. 8l engines but Ford refuses to address it after numerous sensor replacements at the advice of Ford and quite costly usually $100. 00 per sensor and many near misses as for lack of power to engine and unreliabilty of when it will or wont happen the imrc controls the airflow to your cylinders and upon failure will decide to either stick open or closed depending on its mood thusly causing either a too rich or too lean scenario going un repaired will cause catalytic converter failure also at a replacement cost of $1700. 00 +/- the imrc only costs around $67. 00 but Ford wants $500- 600 to replace it as it requires the whole intake manifold to be removed in order to reach the imrc which is mounted directly to the intake manifold on the rear of it and is only accessible this way. With so many failures of this part a recall orat least an extended warranty coverage of item should be made as was done on fuel injectors thatwere inherently bad also. This is a potential safety issue that can cause an accident if you are not aware of when imrc will act up be aware it starts as low or no take off power when accelerator is pressed and is intermittent at best along w poo mpg call Ford and complain as much as you can and save yourselves bundles of money this took me 3 years of dealing with Ford and private mechanics to finally resolve this issue and at a costs of about $6000. 00 in unnecessary sensor replacemnets . This is on 5. 8l gas fuel injected 3valve engines if you research intake manifold runner control through a search engine you will see the multitude of failures for this part it is not vehicle specific but engine specific. Mileage start was 300000 final diag nosis and repair 98000.

15 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/03/2010

I have a 2005 Ford F-250 6. 0 diesel purchased in February 2005. Over the last year or so the truck has intermittent loss of power. This mostly occurs during take off from a stop. It has resulted in several near crashes due to faultering in the middle of an intersection. The NHTSA has a recall for this issue (05v270000) which Ford acknowledges. Ford however refuses to cover the repairs for this because my VIN is outside of the VIN specific recall. Even thought this recall effects my vehicle's model year and trouble code.

16 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 11/20/2007

A sudden loss of electrical system components while operating on the highway. Abs warning light came on followed dimming of lights and reduction of windshield wiper speed and an increase in rpms not initiated by the operator.

17 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2007

Truck has had many electrical issues since I purchased it. Truck also has a terrible bounce when it hits a pothole.

18 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 05/05/2007

My 2005 Ford F-250 superduty 6. 0l diesel, first incident was may of 2007, at 16,000 miles my turbo charger went bad when I was trailering my horses in vermont, forced to stop at unknown dealership who "cleaned" something so I would make it back to my home. Again on the drive home I lost the turbo. It had to be replaced at the dealership, columbia Ford, CT the next day. I was told I had to drive my truck hard and everyday in order to prevent the problem from occurring again. In March 2010 brought my truck to monaco Ford, the motor had to be removed due to "all of the gaskets and seals in the motor leaking, as well as the turbo charger being bad again. This occurred at 24,500 miles. The side walls of my tires are peeling, the running board on the drivers side is falling off, and the body side molding is coming off and now at 26,000 miles the air position selector for the climate control system is not working. If I put it in a position for venting or for front and floor I just blows through the defrost vents. Obviously the warranty has passed with the exception of the motor and I have 26,500 miles on this truck.

19 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 05/24/2006

My 2005 Ford F-250 has a problem with the abs system. While driving at highway speed with cruise control on, there is a momentary loss of power, the speedometer and gauges go to 0 and the cruise control is shut down and the abs light comes on. Vehicle has been to dealers 5 times for repair.

20 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 04/30/2005

The contact owns a 2005 Ford F-250. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle loss motive power. The vehicle was later restarted and the vehicle operated as designed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who replaced the fuel injection control module however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number 05v270000 (electrical system). The contact indicated that the vehicle had experienced the same failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 36,000.
