Emergency brakes do not hold. Have had them checked for adjustment several times. Is a major problem with a manual transmission as it has no park pins. Although my insurance covered it, it actually rolled into another building on my property. I have to us a wood block against the wheel to stop it from rolling on all but the slightest incline. There have been several occurrences when this has happened.

5 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 05/30/2010

I own a Ford super duty f 250 2006 was bought 03-18-10 . Aprox 2 1/2 months the truck violently shakes and loses control when hitting the smallest bump if exceeding 45 klm our higher. If you apply your brakes while this happens the back end will 360 this is a death trap. This has happened about 15 times but it could of been more I only drive very slow and in the slow lane so if it happens I can pull over. I have had everything repaired on this truck I replaced all the heavy duty shocks the tie rods the steering damper the alignment the pressure in my tires and even the brakes, at first I thought the garage just wanted my money but once searching on the internet I found many others with the exact same problems no one has found a solution to the problems and my own mechanic says he has exhausted all avenues with this truck. My biggest fear is someone will have to die to make Ford understand there is a defect with this truck and I don't want it to be me. I have not driven this truck in the winter as of yet and can tell you with experience if the truck shakes violently and I have a had a tough time controlling it in the summer imagine the winter. Someone needs to take this serious. Just tell me how to fix it at least I can make it safe.

While driving down the highway, if you hit a pot hole or rough area on the pavement the 2006 f250 will shake very bad and you must slam on the brakes and come to a full stop to get control of the truck. It is even worse when towing a trailer in corner.

9 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 02/15/2007

The right rear brake drags occasionally. . . . And many other Ford truck owners are having the same problem. . . .

10 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 10/13/2005

Shimmy- the shimmy problem that occurs in the 4x4 f250 should still be a significant issue for those of us that still own these trucks. The dealer tried the tire inflation story with me, but that did not correct the problem. Road racing sport cars for many years I know that one pound can make a difference in handling and I made sure that the tires were inflated correctly. Then they told me that Ford sent them a new set of alingnment specs. Well as we all know now that did not fix it either. Then they told me that the tires being cupped was causing the shimmy, my response to that was that it was the shimmy causing the tires to cup not the tires being cupped causing the shimmy, although the worse the the cupping, the worse the shimmy . After insisting on new tires and then the new line up specs, we tried it again. Then 960 miles later and only road driving the same cupping was happening again. Then it was the dampener and attach point that was the problem. Then 2 years later came the letter about decelerating and applying the brakes and then about 45 mph it should fix it. I guess that would be ok until your going down the interstate at 70 mph with an 18 wheeler behind you going 70 mph. Would it be ok after what could be a serious and possibly fatal accident that I could pull out my letter that I got from Ford and tell everyone ---sorry but I drive a Ford.
