Have owned this truck for a couple of years and have been enduring the "death wobble" over the local train tracks, but I am always able to control my speed. But the other day while traveling down the interstate, I hit a pothole and truck was shaking until brought the truck to a stop. Luckily I was able to get off the road, but this event could have been much worse. Apparently this is a known problem, and it is a shame that the manufacturer has not fixed this obvious safety issue.
Truck randomly has the notorious death wobble when going over bumps. It shakes violently and I have to slow down or stop. Tried to have it diagnosed by mechanic several times with no outcome, this is when I researched and found out a lot of Ford trucks have this issue. Is it a severe safety issue and with the outrageous price of trucks, I can not buy a new one. Ford should have recalled this a long time ago.
The vehicle shakes violently on the road when I go over a bump when traveling at 65mph or higher. I have to slow down to 50mph or below to get it to subside.
Bouces all over road shocks also leaking fluid.
Recently, while driving my Ford f250 truck, I have experienced the Ford's death wobble on three separate occasions. After driving over a bump in the roadway, the front end starts wobbling to the point that I have to brake and pull over just to stay in control of my vehicle. When this death wobble occurs, it causes the driver has to fight the steering wheel and apply braking just to stay in control of the vehicle. It is a real safety concern!!!! recently, I have read several articles identify the problems with Ford¿s front end and their solutions to fix the fronts ends. As usual, Ford comes up with excuses and not a solution to repair their products. There is plenty of documentation (u-tube video) on-line documenting the serious of this complaint. It is time that your agency takes a closer look at this problem and see that Ford accept responsibility to repair their vehicle.
Hit a bump on the road and my front end started shaking violently. Had difficulty controlling the vehicle until reducing speed to approximately 35 to 40 mph at which point the shaking stopped. Notice a slight shimmy whenever making a right hand turn (negotiating right curves on the highways). Tire inflation has been checked and not the issue. This vehicle has not been used off-road or abused. It has a crew cab and was purchased to transport personnel and supplies.
I would like to officially submit a complaint about our Ford f250 super duty truck. There is something seriously wrong with it and the Ford dealership has been unable to fix it. We have had the same issue with it for the last few years and the issue has not been resolved! we are experiencing turbulent wobbling with this truck and I can assure you this is not normal! the last incident occurred 2 days ago on may 26, 2013! I have children and feel that our lives were especially in danger when we rode in this truck as we thought this issue was resolved and no longer existed. As we were driving on the interstate highway we drove over an uneven section of the highway and our truck suddenly started shaking dangerously out of control! thankfully my husband was able to control the steering wheel and stepped on the brake to slow it down, otherwise who knows what would have happened! there was traffic everywhere and we were lucky enough not to have an accident! then it happened again a few hours later when we again drove over an uneven section of the interstate. I have experienced enough of these threatening episodes and I am very concerned as this is absolutely not normal and I can honestly say there is something very wrong with this vehicle. This is a safety issue and people can and will lose their lives over this if this is not resolved immediately! I have contacted Ford headquarters to submit a formal complaint and they merely told me to continue working with the dealership that has unresolved my issue. I trust that you will take this complaint seriously as lives are at stake because of this issue.
1) faulty head bolts repair was over $6000 involved gaskets, cracked heads, bolts, updates and upgrades. 2) death wobble front end issues (mine are fortunately occurring at at low speeds) however the wobble has caused many front end and steering components to wear out prematurely. Wobble kicks in after sharp turns and wheel will not return to center and when forced back to center it will wander and hunt for center. Usually up till 20-25mph then self corrects.
High speed wheel oscillation occurred while driving the speed limit of interstate 275 around cincinnati, ohio. I hit a bump on the exit of the interstates bridge and the steering wheel shook really bad left and right. I had received a letter last year warning me about this condition. I did not think I had a problem with this truck until this happened. I was lucky that I did not crash this vehicle when the oscillation occurred. I researched this on the internet and several other owners for the f250 have had the same problem. Ford needs to fix this problem before someone gets killed!! ## VIN failed ## Ford f250 2007 ##.
Driving my 2007 f250 sd and hit a bump, front end started to shimmy. Slowed down and the shimmy stopped. Had received a letter from Ford motor company giving information about the front end shimmy. Since the first incident, it has occured numerous times. My truck is currently at 87000 miles and the shimmy happens numerous times a day when I hit bumps/dips in the road. Diesel shop tells me to keep tires inflated properly, rotate and balance tires as well as proper alignment and have the steering dampner replaced. Steering dampner is brand new (3 months old), tires are at proper inflation and balanced as well as alignment done and the front end still vibrates, sometimes violently to where it is tough to control until speed drops under 40 mph. Still waiting on a fix for this issue as the shimmy is daily and is getting worse and I get the same textbook answer from Ford everytime I call (tires, inflation, alignment, steering dampner). I'm afraid that the vibration will get to the point that parts will start becoming loose/break and cause an accident.
Picked up my f250 super duty from the service at the Ford dealer, driving it on the freeway overpass, hit a bump on the over pass and my front end started shaking violently. I had no conrol, I had to stop on the freeway to make it stop shaking, almost caused a pile up. Called the dealer and they said they've heard of the problem but nothing they can do.
2007 f250 crew cab 4x4. While traveling on the freeway at about 65mph I hit an unevenly paved road and my truck went into a violent shake for at least a mile until I slowed down to a stop. Cars started to yield and slow down because the shake was so violent and the vehicle started to merge into other lanes.
Running interstate going on bridge in curve an little crack in road made truck start shaking violently. Making me have to come to complete stop before it would quit shaking throwing stuff all around inside truck.
2007 F-250. Consumer states defective design related to a violent shaking in vehicle the consumer stated the violent shaking caused the vehicle to drift into the next lane.
2007 Ford F-250 (42k miles) - whole truck shakes violently when I hit an imperfection on the highway going over 55 mph. I have to pull the truck over to get it to stop and then can continue driving. It's been doing it the last 3 months, but today I finally took the Ford tech for a ride and it did it twice for him. So far they're saying I have the wrong size tires, but they're the same size the truck came with and goodyear installed them, I'm with a state agency and do not have many options as far as trading the vehicle. I do think Ford should be fixing the problem. I've seen the same complaint all over the country on forum discussions.
On certain highways my Ford f250 super duty bounces terribly. I must slow down to avoid losing control. It bounces so violently that I have been bounced out of my seat. Ford stated that their trucks have a "dampening" system to fix this. They stated to check the tire pressure. My tire pressure is fine and has been fine. I have ridden in chevy 2500's and Dodge 2500's on the same highways without this occurring. Something is wrong with these trucks but I can not seem to get Ford to agree. This is dangerous condition since you never know when the bouncing will start. Any other reports on this occurrence?.
2007 Ford f250 sd, at 45 mph violent shaking of steering wheel. Bought new tires no change, alignment is good, tire pressure at 65 psi. All road surfaces produce shaking.
Front end shimmies really bad when braking above 50 mph.
While driving over a set of railroad tracks, almost lost control of vehicle. Took it to Ford garage, they test drove it. Replace steering box. Two years later. Steering pump broke, and the new steering box broke, while driving. Vehicle is parked, and will remain parked. Drove the vehicle last week and experienced the same incident. Could not turn the steering wheel. Turned to the left, when I tried to turn to the right, it would not turn. Was driving at about 40mph. Went off the road. It continues to act the same. This would be a great vehicle to test.
2006 Ford f250 super duty 4wd pickup shakes violently when going over slightly bumpy road at highway speed and continues to shake violently until slowing down to 35 mph which stops the shaking.
