1 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/06/2025

The upper fuel filter plastic housing cracks and leaks fuel on hot parts and has produced fires on other vehicles, not this one. I have had this replaced twice in the past, this will be the third time. There are no warning lamps or other warnings. Only the smell of fuel.

2 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/03/2024

My f250 super duty just completely stopped running while driving down the interstate, I then had the vehicle towed to the Ford dealer where I purchased it in 2015. After the shop examination they found that the high pressure cp4 fuel pump had came apart and contaminated the fuel system entirely. The shop forman called and advised me of the problem and that it would cost 16,000. 00 to have it fixed. He also advised me the this was a ongoing problem that they have had with this particular fuel pump, and that they had recall on the trucks from 2011 to 2018 for this. But he told me that my VIN number was not on the recall list. He said that I would have to pay out of pocket to have the repairs done. I then contacted Ford manufactoring about this, the service lady that I spoke to said that there was nothing they could do because my truck was not on the recall list. To me this is a big safety measure, because when it quit, if I haven't been in an area where I was able to get out off the road there could have been a very serious accident. I feel that an issue like this that Ford knows they have and continue using the same pumps should be there responsibility. I had know visible or any warnings sign of this was going to happen. This truck I purchased new and have put every mile on it and had this truck service very regularly. I have all the service records, just had the fuel filters and oil changed about 2 weeks before this happened. Thank you for your time. Please advise.

3 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/02/2024

Consistent oil leaks. The cars are manufactured poorly and this is a horrible but common issue that Ford has yet to come up with a fix.

4 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/28/2022

Known faulty bosch cp4 fuel pump placed on vehicles with Fords knowledge of the issue. This fuel pump is known to fail and cause thousands of dollars in damage and repair cost. As a good business practice Ford should issue a recall on all vehicles that this faulty fuel pump was installed on.

5 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 07/19/2021

There is a severe fuel leak when the fuel pump is powered on from a fitting on the top of the fuel tank. This is the second time it has happened to me. First instance was supposedly repaired at the dealership who suggested it was a freak occurrence possibly caused by some road trash kicked up but there was no hard evidence either offered or given even though I asked. When the tow truck came to pick up my truck the driver mentioned that this is not an isolated incident that is becoming more common. The potential for a fire and/or explosion is very great in my opinion.

6 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/03/2019

Catastrophic engine failure caused by broken glow plugs.

7 Other Fuel System problem

9 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 04/05/2019

I purchased my 2015 Ford f 250 super duty in October of 2015 and have been experiencing issues from the start. Every time I had an issue and to have it serviced, I was sure to bring it to the dealership so that the experts hired by Ford could correct my issue or service it regularly as I should. If the experts are servicing my vehicle, I expect them to first identity if there is an issue, second notify me or someone at the dealership of the issue and then correct the issue considering my vehicle is still under warranty. Now, a few months after purchasing this "brand new vehicle" it randomly killed on my wife while she's simply travelling the city streets of our small home town. After getting the truck started and getting my wife home safely, I drove it to the dealership where it was purchased. They assessed the vehicle and said, the fuel line was rusted. Rusted after having it for less than a year?? they also told me that it's not under warranty and wanted me to pay out of pocket! less than a year off the lot! it wasn't until I got the owner of the dealership involved that I was able to get my vehicle repaired after them holding it untouch for 2 weeks! now, as I was traveling one the interstate, over 500 miles away from home, im left stranded yet again! I had to have my vehicle towed to the nearest Ford dealership! again, still under warranty so, not too worried about it; only to learn that there is another issue with the fuel line and Ford is denying to cover it. The service guy at this dealership said the say as the one 500 miles away, "this is a recurring problem we see all the time. " I want answers! I had to rent a car to get back home and now my vehicle is at a dealership 500 miles away and will not be repaired because Ford has yet again, denied my warranty! I have every receipt from every service done only at the Ford dealership and again, I want answers!.

10 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/24/2018

The reductant heater and sensor assembly failed causing the check engine light to illuminate and the remote start to become disabled. The vehicle was stationary. The check engine light illuminated upon attempting to start the vehicle. The vehicle is generally driven in high-traffic situations and the danger was the potential for the vehicle to enter limp mode thereby causing a potentially dangerous traffic hazard. Based on a Ford motor company customer satisfaction bulletin (uploaded), we contacted the Ford dealership in thomasville, georgia to schedule a repair. The repair invoice has been uploaded with personally identifying data redacted. The original is available upon request.

11 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/21/2018

Upon starting the truck and entering the road, there seemed to be an odor of gasoline. As I proceeded down the road it seemed as though the miles to empty computer number was falling faster than the distance traveled. At approx. A mile and a quarter to half I stopped at a stop sign to check on the odor. Putting the truck in park, I started to open the door. As I started to open the door, fire erupted from both sides of the hood, in a single large ignition. As soon as the fire started the truck died instantly. As I exited the truck I could see fire behind the wheel well and black smoke began to come into the truck cab. I grabbed my lunch pail and cell phone from the dash and opened the back door to grab toddler two car seats I had in my back seat. I called 911 and requested assistance, then called my wife. Within a few minutes the front and cab were fully involved with fire. There were several very white explosions while the truck was burning from both the engine area as well as the cab.

12 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 07/21/2017

July 21 2017 8:00 pm near chama new mexico pulling a 10,000 pound fith wheel trailer climbing a mountain pass the truck chimes flashes a warning and goes into reduced power mode with no previous warning ( very unsafe condition with location and warning) this diesel truck was designed to pull a trailer ??? after research we limped off of the mountain pass warnings were the flashed on the dash that to clean the exhaust filter we needed to drive as we did to no avail, stopped for the night unhooked the trailer land we were able to partially clean the exhaust filter with no load on the vehicle. After the trip we had the truck checked at the purchasing dealer the did a manual regeneration of the exhaust filter this is a safety concern not being able to maintain the emissions system within normal maintenance.

13 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/15/2017

My complaint is Ford has no warning system before it does $7800. 00 damage. I reported this problem to Ford motor corp. And its not covered under the factory warranty my case number is cas11721824. The Ford dealership I took it to said Ford used to have a design feature to shut down motor before it did damage to fuel system but the epa had them remove it and Ford never put anything in to replace the warning feature. According to the Ford dealership I had contaminated fuel that by passed the filters that I had changed according to Fords recommendations. I have a report from the state of arkansas bureau of standards petroleum division and the fuel analysis shows that the diesel was not contaminated from the last place I fueled up. I regularly use the same auto lube to service my truck and was never told I had excessively dirty fuel filters and only had 7000 miles on the last fuel filter change before my engine light came on. I have investigated this problem and Ford has had numerous complaints on this same problem. If Ford has had this problem why haven't they implemented a safety feature to protect the fuel system before it does extensive damage costing the consumer this much to repair?.

14 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/25/2016

Exhaust cleaning cycle causes extremely rough running conditions. Severe engine knocking seems as though a piston will fly through the hood soon. Significant loss of power at any speed during this time. Brand new truck purchased from dealership and this has happened from purchase point all the way through 27500 miles so far. In reading I have found thousands of others that experienced the exact same issue.

15 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/16/2015

During the epa mandated exhaust regeneration cycle the vehicle begins to shudder uncontrollably along with power loss. This behavior began at around 5,500 miles and now does it at least every other exhaust regeneration. It happens on multiple lane country roads and city roads at around 50 to 60 miles per hour. It seems more specific to the regeneration cycle than any other driving condition or input. Temperature is between 40 and 70 degrees outside so far. Each time it happens is worse than the last. The experience is scary and could be very dangerous. I no longer let my wife drive this vehicle for fear that it may shudder her off the highway.
