Sunroof exploded at 0530 in the morning the truck is only 9 months old and the sunroof has never been opened dealer saying Ford does not cover under bumper to bumper nor under the extensive extended warranty we purchased.
We were driving down interstate 70 near glenwood springs, colorado on December 23, 2016. Driving 75 mph (the speed limit) with no cars nearby. It was a straight stretch of interstate. Driving conditions were clear, no snow or ice on the road. Outside temperature was 40 degrees f and sunny. Interior temperature was set on 69 degrees f. Out of nowhere, the sunroof spontaneously shattered, blowing a huge hole through it. It sounded like a bullet had gone off. There were no rocks nor shell casings found in the vehicle. Fortunately, we had the sunroof visor closed and did not get injured by glass. There was broken glass all over the interior of the headliner. We were very startled and the damage was approx $2217 to fix. Ford denied the warranty claim (vehicle only had 22k miles and was still under factory and extended warranties that we had purchased). Thankfully my husband was driving because I was panicked and probably would have had an accident.
