The cab roof clearance lights leak water when it rains. The water leaks into the electronics in the overhead console and down the a-pillar. Dealer advises it is a nonwarranty issue under extended warranty and a commonly known issue on these. Trucks.

4 Body problem

Failure Date: 12/29/2023

My vista sunroof on my 2017 f250 super duty platinum made a popping noise and failed to open when I attempted to open it. It became bound to the rear glass which in turn commenced to fracture across the entire piece. Fortunately no one was injured as this glass could have dropped large shards into the cab. I an concerned that this could still present a problem when driving and is an imminent safety hazard. I found out that this is a common issue that Ford is aware of on the f series trucks with the panoramic roofs and it is due to the rail/track system fracturing on the front glass (sunroof) and will not replace/repair it because it is not under warranty. This a safety hazard for passengers due to a manufacturer defect and poor design and needs to be replaced immediately to avoid any risks.

5 Body problem

Failure Date: 02/06/2023

Noticed that my floor is getting soaked for no reason. After looking online and reading about others that are experiencing the same issues I found out that is was the cabin pressure vent that was leaking. The cabin pressure vent is found between the truck bed and cab. They are plastic and since the plastic clips lose tightness over the years I did not notice a slow leak in the back. Now when pulling up all of the carpet I notice I have black mold all under the carpet where my 3 year old rides. This is a huge health concern since black mold is unhealthy and not noticeable if this is a slow leak. This seems to be an issue or many people with these trucks. This is a reoccurring issue since many people had this issue starting back in 2007. I am out of the warranty time and now I had to replace my entire carpet all while my truck has been unusable for the last few weeks.

6 Body problem

Failure Date: 05/15/2022

The tailgate opens intermittently even after the original recall was done twice and the cab button was replaced and the tailgate actuator was replaced. It happens months apart but does happen. May 15, 2022; Feb 27, 2022; repairs; Aug 21, 2021; may 22, 2021; Apr 25, 2021; recall 2nd time; recall; opened 4 other times before I started paying attention.

7 Body problem

Failure Date: 03/15/2022

I have taken my truck into the dealer to report my tailgate opening by itself but they said there is no recall. Recently it opened while pulling a trailer and it has caused damage. The dealer is still telling me that they do not have any options to fix it and are not willing to pay for the fix, even though they did one fix once before. This is a well documented issue reported by many people on the internet. I believe there was a recall for this on this model truck but my VIN was excluded for some reason and it should not have been. This occurs typically when you come to a stop. In my case we were pulling out of a driveway, turning right and because the tailgate dropped without our knowledge then it crushed the tailgate into the trailer. I reported this to the dealer on 6/19/2020 where they did no repairs. I reported it again on Jan 6th 2021 where they did modify the wiring harness and added jumper pi, per 19s48b. However this repair did not work and the tailgate continues to randomly open.

8 Body problem

Failure Date: 02/05/2022

The tailgate continues to open/fall down at random times. The original recall was done 2/11/2020, invoice # 727930, gosch auto group, escondido, CA. A second repair was performed 4/22/2021, invoice # 748913, gosch auto group, escondido, CA. Since then the tailgate randomly opens. It will open as I pull out of my driveway. On 2/5/2022 the tailgate opened and a container of liquid fertilizer fell out. A gentleman was following behind the vehicle and saw it happen.

9 Body problem

The door locks froze and the doors would not open. This left me locked out of the vehicle. Going down the road, the doors flew open. The door locks had frozen open and not closed.

Trucks automatic tailgate opens by itself. I had the recall repair performed, however, the issue continues. The tailgate opens by itself even after the recall repair. Issue #2- passenger seat headrest bracket is broken and rattling loudly. Numerous complaints on the internet.

12 Body problem

Failure Date: 01/03/2021

We were driving down the highway going 60mph. All of a sudden there was a loud bang and the rear sliding window exploded inside of the cab. We had our dogs with us lying in the back the glass flew into the back and even down our clothes. Nothing hit the truck. We immediately pulled over and got as much glass out of the car. It landed everywhere. It was very scary. The photo below is of the passenger side front seat. The glass blew down my shirt.

13 Body problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2020

Body cab seam seal leak. New vehicles - the seals are cracking and allowing water to seep into the vehicles causing water and mold damage inside. Water enters cab into doors and underneath floor covering causing damage and potential health problems. This was found on my vehicle while performing recalls and a windshield replacement at the dealer. Dealer and Ford trying to make me pay for mfg defect.

14 Body problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2020

The contact owns a 2017 Ford f250. The contact stated that while driving in rainy conditions, water entered the vehicle. The contact believed that the water entered the windshield area and caused the electrical wires and cables located under the dashboard and the instrument panel to become wet. The water also drained onto the brake pedal, the accelerator pedal, and the carpet. The windshield became foggy due to the failure and the defogger was activated to clear the windshield. The vehicle was taken to midway Ford (8155 w flagler street, miami, FL 33144, (786) 801-2969) several times for the failure. The dealer placed a protective seal inside and outside the vehicle windshield area and the dashboard area several times however, the repair failed to correct the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 41,000.

15 Body problem

Failure Date: 01/21/2020

On 1/21/2020 I was driving highway speeds on sh225, went under bw8, and the truck began shaking uncontrollably. It felt as if the entire truck was going to shake apart. I was almost in a wreck because the truck would not stop shaking and the steering was impacted. The dash, mirrors, seats, and literally everything on and in the truck was violently vibrating and shaking. Had to reduce speed to about 30mph and the shake finally subsided, after multiple cars could tell something was wrong as well - and they were seeing this happen from outside the truck! this has happened previously, to a lesser extent in December which caught me off guard and the issue subsided quicker than this time. Not sure what the issue is but it is extremely dangerous and could have seriously injured me or other drivers due to a loss of control of the vehicle. I have dropped my truck off at mac haik Ford in pasadena, TX. It is still under warranty - about 25k miles on the truck.

16 Body problem

Failure Date: 12/16/2019

Door lactches freeze shut. Door hard to open, and once open will not latch shut.

17 Body problem

Failure Date: 12/15/2019

On two occasions this winter I have had door latches on this 2017 Ford F-250 crew cab super duty freeze preventing the door from latching closed after it was opened. The mileage on the vehicle was approximately 19,700 miles. The first occurrence happened in December 2019. The morning temperature was in the mid 20's (degree fahrenheit) and the truck was parked outside overnight. After opening both front doors of the truck to load personal items and myself, I was unable to secure either front door due to the frozen latches. I tried several times to shut and slam the doors and conducted a cursory visual inspection of both latches. The defect was clearly internal and there was nothing I would be able to do at that time. After several minutes of manipulating both doors, eventually, one door latched closed. Repeated attempts with the other door were unsuccessful. I then drove approximately 2 miles to my destination, on public roads, holding the unlatched door closed with my hand. I fully accept the danger I placed myself in that day and believe many others will make the same choice when faced with a similar situation. Moreover, I believe others will travel much longer distances with frozen, unlatched doors. This frozen latch problem will only befall more similar vehicles as they age. I was aware of the potential of this problem from online forums. I received Ford's letter alerting owners of a potential fix for only vehicles which have experienced the problem. I have also seen numerous online postings that Ford's fix for the latches is sometimes unsuccessful. I have not had this procedure performed as I do not believe it fixes the issue of frozen latches and a full redesign of the latch is required. People driving these vehicles with unlatched doors is clearly unsafe. The danger is even greater if people do not realize the door is unlatched.

18 Body problem

Failure Date: 12/11/2019

Have an on going problem, right rear door when below freezing will not latch. Has been to the dealership 3 times in the last 3 weeks for updates, repairs, etc. This is a safety issue as I have two young ins that ride back there. Ford need to come up with actual solution and not just pour ethonal/windsheild washer on components for a bandaid fix. I do have documentation for the visits to dealer.

19 Body problem

Failure Date: 12/04/2019

The rear doors open on there own and will then not close. "fixed" once under warranty. Now a year later they again openning on there own and then are un able to be re-secured. This has happened on the road, highway, and in the driveway. Very concerned for my children who ride back there.

20 Body problem

Failure Date: 11/29/2019

Doors do no stay closed. Had updates done on 11/25/19 second time on 11/27/19 door on right rear would not remain closed also drivers door did the same but was able to close after it warmed up . My 12 year old son and 15 year old daughter in the back. Is Ford going to be held accountable for a permanent repair that works. In their customer satisfaction letter says it's a one time fix. First off it needs to be a fix.

21 Body problem

Failure Date: 10/12/2019

Was traveling down the interstate and the truck started to shake violently and it took the steering wheel right out of my hands and I grabbed the wheel and slowed the vehicle down and tried to get to the right emergency lane, the shaking continued till I slowed to about 20mph and it stopped shaking, exiting of the road and checked my tires they had no issues, have had this truck 8 months and this has happened 6 times to me and my wife ,my kids cannot drive this death trap please help before people get killed or kill someone.

22 Body problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2019

Three cracks developed in the aluminum cab around three different doors all in similar areas (sharp 90 degree bends). Truck has 13. 5k miles on it and is only two years old. All cracks appeared after it experienced death wobble. Guessing the violent shaking it experienced is the root cause for these cracks. Of course Ford doesn't want to buy it back and will repair these cracks. No way to tell what other damage occurred behind any panels or welds. Death wobble in these trucks needs to be engineered out. Not only did it almost push us into a wall on the highway when it occurred but it induced cracks into the cab. Now I'm stuck with a $63k truck that my family is scared to ride in and I'm concerned structurally was compromised.

23 Body problem

Failure Date: 09/19/2019

While traveling in the #3 lane at 57 mph at 6:10 p. M. On interstate 80 in northern California; as I drove over a rough patch of roadway, the steering wheel began to shake/oscillate violently as was the entire truck, which had very little control of the steering at that point. I decelerated the truck without applying the brakes as I thought that would send me into an uncontrollable spin, possibly causing a crash or worse. Luckily, drivers around me realized something was wrong and gave me as much space as they could so that I could regain control of the truck. Once I slowed to approximately 40 mph the shaking was not as intense and I began to carefully brake all the while attempting to get over to the right hand side of the roadway. I stopped the truck on the shoulder of the roadway. Since my Ford dealer was closed at that time; I drove the truck on surface streets back home and contacted my dealer the next morning. The dealer examined the truck over a two day period and said they could not duplicate or find anything amiss with the truck. A day prior, the service advisor asked me if the "death wobble" started before or after I had the truck serviced. I told him I had the truck serviced on Saturday and the "death wobble" started on Thursday, so it was after. The next day on his return call to me he indicated they couldn't find anything amiss with the truck other than the tire pressure was not correct, for which they adjusted to "proper" inflation. Below is the synopsis of the repair as it is written on my invoice: 24748 perform test drove steering wobble do not duplicated at this time perform put vehicle on rack and inspecton front end check alignment ok pass check air tires pressure found front tires at 70 psi rear 60 psi perform adjustment to specs front 60 psi rear 65 psi recommend return vehicle to customer at this time check on future concerns.

25 Body problem

Failure Date: 02/25/2019

Went to leave work when I got in my truck and started backing up my driver door came open. I stopped and try to shut it and it would not latch. Tried for several minutes to get it to latch. Finally got it to latch, or so I thought, started driving down the busy town road and when I hit a pot hole the door came open again. Leaving me to hold the door shut when I drive untill I could pull over and get it to latch again. The truck has already had the recall fix and continues to happen when it's cold out.

27 Body problem

Failure Date: 01/24/2019

When the temperature is below freezing my doors will not unlock or open. After several attempts they do finally unlock and I am able to open them. After they are open I am unable to close them because the latch is half locked. I have to use a screwdriver to complete the latch locking cycle then I have to manually lock and unlock it several times until the door works properly.

28 Body problem

Failure Date: 01/21/2019

When cold, the doors do not latch and will swing open when driving. It can be pretty alarming when kids are riding in the back. There was a recall, but Ford's fix does not work. I have been trying to resolve the issue for over 2 years now. Safety should be a priority for any organization as large as Ford.

29 Body problem

Failure Date: 01/20/2019

This morning, I had the 2 doors on my driver's side of the truck not open even after the doors being unlocked. Below freezing weather and some rain overnight may have been the cause? vehicle was parked overnight and sitting outside.

30 Body problem

Failure Date: 01/10/2019

I am having the issue with frozen doors latches. The fsa 18n03 has been completed and I continue to have an issue with my doors not opening when it is below freezing. If I am able to get them to open, I am unable to get them to latch afterwards, the door just bounces back and will not latch.

31 Body problem

Failure Date: 01/02/2019

Both front doors froze open and would not latch closed. The dealer said Ford won't pay for the repair since they didn't think the doors froze where I live. Instead the Ford dealer said I would have to drive to the dealer when the problem happened again with the doors open! that's right I'm supposed to drive with the doors open and unlatched! how does this make sense?.

32 Body problem

Failure Date: 12/29/2018

While driving at highway speeds (55+) the hood begins to shudder and shake to the point where the alarm will come on saying hood is not closed completely. Problem has consistently grown over time. While going into a head wind via mother nature or a semi, hood appears to begin to open all the way up.

33 Body problem

Failure Date: 12/28/2018

Door latches freeze below 25 degrees f causing the doors to not stay closed, interior lights may or may not go out as if doors are actually shut, door locks stop working when this occurs, both manually or electronically. Major safety concern. Ford has issued field service action number: 18n03 to address this, but many have reported still having the issue after having the fsa completed, through 2019 model year vehicles as well. Supposedly they have redesigned the latch/actuator assembly. I am scheduled to have the fsa and hopefully the new latches done on 1/14/2019.

34 Body problem

Failure Date: 12/10/2018

Doors do not securely close when exposed to freezing temperatures, particularly after exposure to sleet, snow or wind. This is a four door vehicle and most times all doors are affected. When this occurs doors do not secure and latching does not occur. Of course, door ajar audible and visual alerts occur. Basically you must drive holding the door. As you can imagine a safety issue exists.

35 Body problem

Failure Date: 12/05/2018

Door latchs froze wont open or close open while driving. Dealer did recall new parts still have problem now no solution cant fix I was told will call me if they find a fix mean time keep driving the truck hold doors close while driving help.
