I was having problems with the truck spitting and sputtering and blowing black/blue smoke when under load. Took to dealer, replaced inj. Fuel pump and line, stopped for a few months at the cost of $3200 then two months later coming up rt 81. Kept running very rough, shaking stalling, pulled over and had aaa take it to dealer, they sent it out and was called being told cylinder is bad due to bad inj. They started the truck to move it out of garage and a loud bang was heard then the engine died. . I still owe $15,000 on this truck and cant afford $8,000 for a new engine. I have had Fords in the past and had only rust problems with them but I will don't buy another one after this . . .

2006 f250 superduty 6. 0: this vehicle stalls while driving down the road just about every day. I noticed that there was a recall for the same engine on the 2004 f250 for the same thing. It stalled last week going into a hard turn and I ran off the road because I was unable to control the vehicle after it stalled. It could have been lethal if there were more traffic. . . . I had it towed ($250) it has been in the shop for a week. . . . Looking for answers. . This vehicle is a death trap. . . .

2009 Ford super duty: this vehicle completely shut down engine on (3) different occasions while I was driving it. No steering, brakes or control of vehicle was completely lost. I have taken it to Ford dealer on every occasion and they said they cannot duplicate the problem. Dangerous. We installed a flight data recorder on the vehicle today to monitor and record this so when it happens again Ford cannot deny the facts nd evade the responsibility.

Ford motor CO. Refuses to do safety recall 07s57 on my 97 F-250 the recall is for the cam shaft position sensor. It must be replaced because the vehicle stalls while driving which can lead to an accident. They are refusing to do the recall due to a seized bolt. If this bolt breaks they want me to pay $2500 to get the safety recall completed.
My 1999 Ford F-250 v-10 super duty with 42, 960 miles blew the spark plug out of number 8 cylinder. I was driving down the highway, approximately 15 miles from a major city, when it shot out the plug. I was able to limp into town and find a mechanic that would work on a Sunday night. He had to drill out the plug hole, tap and install a steel insert, then replace the plug and coil pack. It was a $500. 00 repair. This is a well known issue with 1999 through 2002 Ford triton v-8 and v-10 engines. A simple web search reveals how prevalent it is, and the amount of complaints documented on the NHTSA web site confirms that fact. Nhtsa needs to force Ford to recall their defective cylinder heads before someone is seriously injured by this design flaw.

2002 f250 super duty lariat with 80,350 miles and original factory installed plugs lost a sparkplug on passenger side of motor on 8/22/2010, 183 miles from dealer(who sold me an after market "extended" warranty. I paid $300. 00 plus to have truck trailered back to the dealer and have incurred other expenses now that we are going on over a week since the problem! I don't have any faith in the vehicle now and am not going to be overly surprised at what this situation has done to the trade-in value of, what was, a beautiful truck. Ford says "won't help" and warranty people say "won't help; not a lubricated part". Asking for letters to that effect from both company's for my "personal use"!!!.

The contact owns a 2005 Ford f250. The contact stated while driving at speeds of 20 to 65mph the motor would stall causing him to lose all power to the brake and steering. He would coast the vehicle to the side of the road and wait about half hour before it would restart, although there were times that the vehicle would restart immediately. When the failure occurred there were no warning lights illuminating on the dashboard . The dealer was called who stated that the contact purchased the vehicle as is and they would not repair it. The manufacturer was called and they advised him to contact NHTSA to file a complaint. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 40,000.
Spark plug blowout while driving on 5. 4 liter triton motor with 48,000 miles factory installed spark plugs. Ford motor dealer contacted. Refused to accept responsibility. Mechanic made shop repair by pulling intake and installing insert to number 3 cylinder. $1000. 00 dollar repair, potential fuel ignition from motor, escaping fuel mix combined with coil spark present during failure.
Spark plug blew out after stopping for red light. Shut off engine, popped the hood and there was a small fire under the hood. I was able to put the fire out quickly with my shirt. Cop was damaged, tried to re-install plug, but the threads in the head were stripped. I was able to just snug the plug down enough to get me home. About . 5 mi. I was stopped in the middle of the road with traffic going around me both directions.
2002 Ford f250 with a triton v8 5. 4l engine had the spark plug blown out of the cylinder head and destroyed the ignition coil. Apparently this is an extremely common problem and Ford is unwilling to do anything. Cost of repair is $1100. 00. Could potentially start a fire as fuel air mixture escape the cylinder the coil was sparking against the engine and this could have started a fire. The original factory plugs were installed in the engine, and the engine has never been serviced by anyone except the Ford dealership.
The contact owns a 2004 Ford F-250. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 mph approaching an intersection the vehicle suddenly stalled. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer who informed the contact that he needed to replace the turbo in the g-valve inside of the engine. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 104,000.

When I started my vehicle the #1 plug ejected from my Ford 5. 4 engine. The plug broke the coil and struck the fuel rail putting a dent in it and partially dislodge it. This is my first ejection. My shop replaced the threads in the head, installed a new spark plug and coil, then they straighten up everything. I am now scared to drive it as I am 70 years old and had planned to travel.

Vehicle stalls intermittently. Occurs often in intersections when taking off. Creates a very dangerous situation. The same year, make, model number and engine type have been recalled, however, our VIN was not included so Ford will not honor.
Ford F-250 5. 4 l while driving low speed, heard loud pop in engine compartment, spark plug ejected from head. Discovered that this is a common occurrence with aluminum head engines, esp Ford 1989 through 2005 4. 6 and 5. 4 liter engines. Problem is the result of 5 thread depth in head instead on new spec of 7. Preventive measures, remove plugs, clean carbon from threads, reinstall plug, torque to required foot pounds. Why Ford or dealer doesn't tell you this is criminal. That's why I now drive a Toyota.
Spark plug shooting out of engine this includes factory and new plugs. . We were going to georgia and spark plug blew out and broke the coil and cab filled with gas fumes and we lost 1/8 tank gas in probably 5 miles had to buy new parts we chased new treads and intstalled new plug and coil all parts is still available.
My 2000 Ford F-250 with a triton v-10 motor is blowing spark plugs. It has blown 5 spark plugs now over the last 6 months or so, and this is on a motor installed by Ford. So if there claim of improper torque is true then it was them who is to blame. I also read many consumer reports saying many Ford model engines do this from 2000 to 2004. It is very unsafe, fuel still keeps pumping even when the spark plug is gone. You can smell the fule coming out very strongly and fires have occured under the hood due to this dangerous situation.

I have been having a stalling issue with my 2000 Ford sd 7. 3 since I bought the truck this summer. I have brought the truck into the dealer for this problem 2 times. The recall was done on the cps on Dec 18th 2007, and it is still stalling. As far as I can tell, Ford has no idea why this is happening. The truck seems to run perfectly normal and it just stalls like you shut the key off. And sometimes it stalls and will come back quick enough to stay running. When this happens the ses light and the wait light come on and then go out like nothing happened.
The contact owns a 1999 Ford f250 super duty. While traveling at 55 mph the vehicle stalled and shut off. The failure has occurred for three years; however, the most recent failure was four months ago. When the vehicle was restarted, the vehicle operated normally. The dealer stated that no failures could be identified. The failure mileage was 90,000 and the current mileage was 95,000. Updated 4/7/08 updated 04/07/08.
Driving at 50 mph truck stalled got off road restarted was ok for 3 weeks, did same thing ,was ok for 1 week, did same thing. Took truck to Ford they replaced camshaft position sensor.
The contact owns a 2008 Ford F-250 sd. While driving 55 mph, the vehicle stalled and restarted on its own. The failure occurred during acceleration. When the failure occurred, the speed did not decrease. There were no warning indicator lights present. The dealer could not determine the cause of the failure; however, they changed the fuel injectors. The failure mileage was 200 and current mileage was 5,000.

Vehicle looses power, stalls sparkplug failure/breakage sparkplugs replaced at customer expence. Have old parts.
: the contact stated at various speeds, without warning, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle restarted occasionally. When the vehicle would not restart, a new camshaft position sensor was installed. The vehicle has not been inspected by a mechanic and the problem persists.
I own a 2004 F-250 power stroke diesel my truck has stalled numerous times that have left me in very dangerous situations such as on freeways, where highway patrol officers had escort me to the shoulder of the freeway. The dealer has replaced numerous parts on my vehicle even before I had the problem of my truck stalling. They had replaced all the recall parts which was said to have caused the stalling of the power stroke models. Around 20,00 miles after I had bought my truck it would stall without warning. Up to this day it has stalled a total of about 12 times. Some times it would start and stall again and at times it would not start at all and had to be towed to the dealer. It has been to the dealer 5 times for them to fix it and every time they said that they had corrected the problem. They have given me flight data recorders to record the problems as it stalls. The problem was recorded and they still couldn't figure out the problem. The last time my vehicle stalled was on the 6th of July me and my family were on a vacation to yosemite towing a travel trailer when my truck stalled on a two lane highway with no shoulder so I was stalled dangerously close to opposing traffic when an on coming vehicle slammed into my mirror and broke it. It could have been alot worse in sense that my family's lives could have been in danger. I don't know what to do. All the shop foreman which I deal with at the dealer tells me to just bring my vehicle back to the dealer and they will fix the problem. But they have yet to fix this problem. I am fed up with this problem.
: the contact stated while driving at various speeds on several occasions the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was maneuvered off the road without incident and restarted after a few minutes. The vehicle was driven to the dealer where the cam position sensor was replaced. The problem has not reoccurred.
Ford f250 super duty, with 83,000 miles on the engine. Two spark plugs blew out. The first occurred on 12/7/05 and the second occurred on 1/9/05. The repairs entailed installing steel sleeve inserts into the spark plug holes in the engine block.
2002 Ford F-250 ,5. 4 litre triton motor. Original dealer installed spark plug blown out of aluminum head becuase of a lack of thread engagment. Cost of repair $3,200.

The vehicle was not repaired and was unsafe to be driven. The vehicle was excluded from NHTSA campaign number: 05v270000 (electrical system). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 11,686.
#2 spark plug blown out of head while driving. Spark plug threads in head stripped out causing plug to blow out and damage coil. Truck was taken to dealer for diagnosis, dealer had to install a helicoil in head at location #2.
While turning right, the vehicle stalled without warning. The driver tried to restart the vehicle and was able to do so. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection. The mechanic informed the driver that the camshaft position sensor needed to be replaced. Please provide further details. While making a right turn the vehicle died without warning. The vehicle started after several attempts.
Consumer purchased the vehicle, and was driving home after picking it up from the dealership. Consumer experienced a headache from a unfamiliar smell. Then, vehicle stalled in traffic, and had to be taken back to the dealer for the stalling and the smell. . . . . . . Replaced failed injectors.
