Two problems related to engine turbo-charger have been reported for the 1999 Ford F-350. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While driving vehicle would stall on road, turbo-charger would not kick in. There was a loud knocking, took to mechanic, who said that there was a problem with the seventh ring.
Due to defective turbo intake which blewout vehicle stalled while driving. This might have caused a crash. Dealer fixed this part 5 times, but it is still reoccurring. Also, while downshifting from 2nd gear to 1st gear vehicle will go into reverse automatically, causing damages to the rear part of vehicle. One turbo lost its power and shutdown before being pulled over to road side. The transmission does not go into reverse gear.
