general problems of the 1999 Ford F-350

The contact owns a 1999 Ford F-350 equipped with hankook dynapro as tires, size: 235/85r16. While driving above 45 mph, the vehicle would swerve uncontrollably. The contact also noticed that the front tires were wearing down quickly and unevenly, but the rear tires showed no failures. The local tire store was contacted and stated that they no longer serviced or sold hankook tires. The contact called the manufacturer and left a voice message. The vehicle failure mileage was 370,000. The tire failure mileage was unknown.

I wias traveling on hwy. 27 outside of blakely GA on 09-17-15. My front drivers side tire tread belt separated. I lost control of the vehicle and narrowly avoided a severe accident. The tire was a pro-comp all terrain load range e 265/75/16.

My front tire tread separated from the tire on my truck while doing 75 mph. I also spoke with another guy that has his tires listed on craigslist that had the same problem. When my tire came off it damaged my fender, running board on the exterior have not had a chance to see what other damage was done. No one was hurt no other known damaged was caused to other vehicles.

Without any warning (I. E. , no noise, no vibration, no sound), all of sudden heard very loud slapping sound coming from front right wheel well of f350 truck. The right front tire had a 50+% tread belt separation with no loss of tire pressure. Significant damage to wheel well, twisted running board, quarter panel, and front bumper moved.

1999 Ford F-350 left rear dual tires came off. The police reported stated the dual studs were all sheared off. There was a possibility the studs were broken prior to the incident.

The front rims had cracks on them. This caused the front tires to lose air prematurely. Dealership replaced the rims/tires.

Driving north bound on I-95 at 60mph heavy vibration for 15 to 20 sec then tire exploded. Replaced with spare. Defective tire is available. This is the second tire from a set of four I have had trouble with. The other tire had the belts slip causing vibration and loud noise. Another tire from that group is chunking in the center.

While driving front drivers tire separated, causing an accident. Dot #vnw81xl, size lt26575r16. Orginial tires. During the accident consumers wife sustained minor injuries to lower legs. ( firestone steeltex lt265 75r16).

Cab of the truck vibrated very hard at any speed. Took to mechanic and they replaced torque converter, then hub, still same problem. Took to Ford, Ford replaced tires, still shaking. Then, they replaced driveshaft, still shook. Dealer did not know what the problem was. Please provide any further information.

The pickups left front 16 inch firestone steeltex tire had a malfunction of some type which in turn caused the pickup to sharply veer left going onto the median and then crossing the westbound lanes, the driver of the u-haul (deceased) was killed as a result of the pickup crossing the median and into the path of the westbound lanes (attorney for deceased). Nlm.

Tires were constantly going flat. Several times I pulled pieces of gravel/rock out to find that was the cause of the leaking. I feel these tires were unreasonably susceptible to punctures . To hear of gravel piercing through the tire, I replaced them fearing that if I hit a larger piece of debris that a severe tire failure may occur. (tiresize: 265/75/16).

Traveling on highway, suddenly tire deflated. Stopped, belt had slipped and cut through top of outside edge of tire for about 6 inches. (tiresize: 265/75 r16)( dot number: tire size: 265/75 r16 ).

While driving the vehicle had a blowout which caused the vehicle to veer off the roadway to the right, then struck several trees and rolled onto it's left and top areas, the vehicle came to rest on it's to. (texas peace officer's accident report). Nlm.

Original equipment on a 1999, f350, lt215/85r16 size. Tread on the left inside rear firestone steeltex separated and blewout . Owner has replaced all of the tires. Dot# w10p1xnz494.

When driving 69 mph passenger's side rear tire tread separated which caused driver to lose control. Tread which separated damaged the vehicle,[xxx]. Entire bottom portion was missing. There are hunks of tread coming off my tires, some the size between a quarter and a half dollar. (dot number: vnw8 1xl tiresize: lt26575r16).

Dealer inspected tires and checked balance for vibration at 30+mph speeds. Dealer said no obvious external defects visable but vibration persists that could be an internal deflect like a ply separation causing vibration. (dot number: do 8061 tiresize: 265/75r16).

We were traveling hwy 40 at about 60 mph around 2:00 p. M. When our right rear tire exploded. As the tire tread was peeling off, I tried to gain control of my truck/camper to avoid going off the shoulder or a head-on crash. The blowout caused about $2000. 00 in damages beside complete tire replacement. I made a claim through farmers insurance agency and the damage has been documented. Additionally, I still have the damaged tire and rim. Upon my return from this trip, I immediately replaced the tires because I felt I might not be so lucky if I had another blowout like this. I feel this blowout was due to a defect in the tire because of the way the tread unraveled and the steel belts blew out. I would like some information how to pursue reimbursement for these damages. A tire on 2 separate occasions, completely disentigrated. I've driven a long time, and so has my mother who was with me at the time, and neither of us have ever seen anything like this before. Luckily both incidents occured on my rear wheels, and I have a dual rear wheel truck so no accident occurred. (dot number: w10p tiresize: 215/85r16).

Consumer thought the vehicle had wheel bearing problem because of the noise it made while driving. Consumer later heisted the truck up and noticed that the two front tires looked strange. When the tires were replaced the noise stopped.

Consumer noticed two of the tires had slow leaks. Vehicle was serviced, technician saw rim with cracks.

All of the goodyear wrangler rt/s lot 235-85r16 tires on the vehicle were replaced due to dry rot and cracking.

Tires are showing signs of failure on the shoulder (firestone steeltex radial 26575r16). Nlm.

Rear tire liners are made of thin plastic, causing the tires to stick and pull the liners out.

Front left aluminum wheel cracked, causing the tire to leak air.
