Automatic Transmission Torque Converter problems of the 2005 Ford F-350

Two problems related to automatic transmission torque converter have been reported for the 2005 Ford F-350. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Automatic Transmission Torque Converter problem

Failure Date: 04/02/2012

The contact owns a 2005 Ford F-350. The contact stated that the vehicle was leaking transmission fluid from a seal in the torque converter. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The technician advised the contact that the transmission needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but did not offer any assistance since the vehicle was not included in any recalls. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 150,000 and the current mileage was 168,000.

2 Automatic Transmission Torque Converter problem

Failure Date: 01/05/2005

2005, f350 torque converter/shift transmission snap ring failed. Truck has been at dealer for seven days, and Ford zone representative says there is no silutionfor the defective snap ring. Will not give any repair date.
