1 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/24/2025

The touch screen interface is misaligned and occasionally not working at all. The misalignment means that to activate a button the driver must click somewhere else in the screen than the location where the button is displayed. This offset appears to change infrequently. This cause the driver to have to hunt for the location where the button responds and not pay attention to the road. If the wrong location is touched it may open random menus or start unintended functions, causing additional distractions and requiring multiple screen interactions. The car does not have physical buttons for most functions. On several occasions I found myself drifting out of lane due to this problem.

I have experienced what is called the Ford death wobble on multiple occasions however yesterday it happened 3 different times while traveling with my 2 year old nephew and elderly mother. It terrified both as it almost caused an accident yesterday. This is not acceptable to pay $53 thousand for a vehicle that you feel unsafe to drive!.

3 Equipment problem

While driving on interstate 10 from tucson arizona to silver city new mexico the passenger front side window exploded out into millions of pieces. Weather was not hot or cold, driving conditions were good, traveling about 80 miles per hour.

Death wobble after going over bridge at 70mph, had to stop on the highway.

5 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/10/2022

Was driving on highway on December 10, 2020 and when entered bridge doing approximately 70 mph experienced extremely violent frontend shaking (death wobble). Had to pull to shoulder of highway and stop to reduce it. This occurred again during same trip under similar conditions. Thought something on frontend had broken, but all seemed to be alright upon visual inspection. Plan to take into Ford dealership on December 12 to have it inspected. Truck has 118,000 miles on it. This is a very dangerous situation as it occurs at higher speeds and could result in accident.

6 Equipment problem

The backup camera fails to function when truck is in reverse causing a back over danger to children it was specifically supposed to address.

7 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/03/2022

Driving on interstate transition from east bound on I-10 to az 101 north turning left the truck starting shaking and I had no control slowed to around 25 mph before I had control.

8 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2021

Check engine light came on in my 2015 f 3 50 super duty crew cab truck. Upon inspection at the Ford dealership I was told the reductant heater and sender assembly need to be replaced at a cost of $1100. This is happening within 60 days of heat sensor recall being done. When I look into this topic this repair has a recall on it for f2 50s through f5 50’s including various years up to 2015, but the f3 50 is only up to 2012.

Over the years I have owned this truck (purchased new) I have had several incidents where I have hit a bump on the road and the truck starts the infamous "death wobble". I have been lucky to date not to have caused an accident but since all these incidents happened at high speeds. When it occurs I have to brake or slow down, which could easily cause a major accident at speed. I am always on high alert if I am on a rough road or come to a bump in the freeway (overpasses). I have complained many times to my dealer, which they acknowledge happens on some Ford trucks then they proceed to tell me it can't be fixed and basically deal with it. They say they really do not have a fix for it. However, I believe Ford is being negligent in their responsibility to come up with a fix then issue a recall. These trucks are unsafe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! understand my last event is dated below but it has happened to me at least once a year and sometimes two or three times since 2016.

This vehicle was parked outside a hanger at mcdill afb, FL and caught fire. 1) was the vehicle running at the time of the incident? the vehicle went to “start” when the incident started. He stated he heard two loud pops when he attempted to start the vehicle. He saw smoke and went inside for help. 2) if the vehicle was not running, were the keys in the ignition? if so, what state (aux, etc. )? he removed the keys after he saw the smoke and went to get help. 3) what was the recent usage of the vehicle before the incident? was it used that day? how long was the vehicle "parked" before the incident (whether used that day or nit was a Monday morning. The vehicle had been sitting since Thursday. 4) did any vehicle operator notice anything wrong or unusual about the vehicle prior to the incident? nothing unusual was noted. 5) any after-market equipment installed? there was an aftermarket uhf/vhf radio installed for aircraft communication. It had been installed since 2015.

11 Equipment problem

The truck has the death wooble. I thought we were going to wreck every time it happens. Going 30+ mph hour and hit a bump the front wheels and sterring wheel wooble, vibrate uncontrollably.

12 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/14/2020

Supposed death wobble experience. Truck started to violently shake while on the interstate and caused a loss of control almost causing a major accident. Thankfully the semi driver next to me saw the front wheel start shaking violently and started to brake. Semi had to lock up his brakes due to the fact I was violently shaking and could not keep the truck in my lane and came across lanes of traffic uncontrollably. Avoiding an accident by inches, brought the truck to a stop on the side of the road and then looked it over. Everything appears to be fine, but now very cautious to drive at highway speeds. When this occurred I had no control of the truck but to try and not get it to go sideways. I have been driving vehicles for years including emergency and semi trucks and have never experienced anything like this. Now it is scary to even drive the truck and my wife won't get behind the wheel now. Hit a slight bump on the highway and the truck would not recover until stopped. We are thankful not to be sitting in a hospital or even worse!!.

Owing a diesel pick-up we have to add cetane booster to every tank of fuel to boost the cetane percentage to keep the engine operating at peak performance. I use only "motorcraft cetane booster & performance improver', it comes in a 20 oz bottle. The issue is there's a round cardboard under the cap that's supposed to stay there to prevent it from leaking, it doesn't. It sticks to the bottle and if you aren't paying attention it will go into your fuel tank and get stuck in the fuel pump and shut down the truck. It happen to me while driving. I was stranded 3 times till I found a Ford dealership who could figure it out. I look online and it's happened many times to other owners and Ford won't do anything about it. I had to pay for a tow and the labor to get it repaired. It's thousands of dollars and dangerous. The truck will go into limp mode then shut off. Thank god I was on a 35 mph road. If I was on the freeway driving at 70 the power steering and the power breaking will shut off, super hard to control, very dangerous. The truck weighs about 6,500 lbs. . I've read online it has happened a lot. Ford needs to stand behind their product and create a bottle that doesn't fall apart. If my wife was driving the truck in traffic somebody could have been hurt or killed. Thank you, mike.

The most common term for my problem is called a death wobble. I am spent a lot of money replacing parts to fix the truck only to learn that thousands of other people have the same problem. To date Ford has refused to acknowledge or accept any responsibility for this problem. The problem occurs mostly when the truck is between 50 and 70 miles an hour and hits a bump in the road. My truck currently has a hundred and forty-eight thousand miles on it, the problem started approximately at 120000 about 8 months ago.

15 Equipment problem

When driving this truck on highway at 70-75mph, the truck hits a small bump and goes into an extreme death wobble. It is almost impossible to get it back under control. It happened twice in one night of driving. Upon research, it is a common issue among Ford super duties and needs to be addressed. It is not safe whatsoever. The truck is completely stock with 47,000 miles. . Read more...

16 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/15/2019

Vehicle had been sitting for a few days and the driver was starting the vehicle. Upon starting, the driver noticed flames and smoke coming out from under the hood immediately. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary before the flames and smoke were noticed. Flames were coming from under the hood next to the windshield. Driver then shut the vehicle off, popped the hood release, and sprayed 2 fire extinguishers under the hood and on the motor extinguishing the flames. Then 911 was called.

A little over 2 years ago my truck started the death wobble. I didn't know at first what it was but after internet searches I quickly came across the so called "death wobble". I have taken it in to the dealer multiple times they have changed a few parts when taking it in, at my own expense, but never have fixed the problem. It is progressively getting worse and is very dangerous to drive. Not just for me but for the public as well. When the truck starts to do the death wobble there is not much you can do but hold on. Ford should be responsible for fixing the problem with there own.

18 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/30/2019

Death wobble going at high rate of speed on interstate and truck began to wobble violently after hitting bump on road, only fixed by extreme slowing down. This is an unacceptable issue that Ford needs to fix, I had my family in truck at time.

I am not sure what the issue is with the truck; however, the vehicle begins to shake out of control while you are driving it down the road. You almost have to come to a stop to make the violent shaking end. The truck has been to chenoweth Ford in clarksburg, wv for repairs, but the issue still remains. I have been a passenger in the truck when the shaking has occurred, and if I had been the driver, I do not know if I would have been able to have commanded control of the vehicle. I have read that on the internet that this is called the "death shake" and is common in Ford pickups. Something needs to be done to remedy this issue before lives are taken.

An oahu, hawaii us government worker got in his F-350 super duty xl driver seat at 1000 hrs, 14 oct 2017, shut the door normally and the back window shattered. There was a witness watching the incident who backs-up the claim that the back window shattered as stated above/the back window broke with no apparent cause.

I have a 2015 6. 7 diesel. It goes through the exhaust filter cleaning about every 200 miles while the vehicle is moving. After this process starts the engine runs extremely rough, like it's ready to drop out, losses power & the entire vehicle shakes. There is also a very loud clatter if I step on the gas. There are no engine warning lights while this is happening.

24 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/18/2015

Runs rough, shakes, vibration, the exhaust cleaning system will not finish, and the truck has had multiple occurences but it was worse today, when pushing on the gas pedal it would just keep declining in speed and it was like it could not get any power so I parked the truck called Ford had it towed, and while waiting I thought I would start it and back up and take to see if it was still bad and it would not even go in reverse so I put truck back in park and shut it off, Ford says there is an issue with the system but they have not figured it out yet nor do they no how to even fix it at this point and they sent me home in the truck.

25 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/15/2015

Bought truck brand new in December 2014. At approx. 5,000 (still during the diesel engine break in period) while driving thru an intersection in traffic the truck and motor started violently shaking/bucking with the motor making a loud knocking noise- the truck then had a total loss of power in which I was unable to safely accelerate. The truck then went to the dealer in which I was told they could find nothing wrong. The truck now been in an out of the shop numerous times because the problem keeps occurring. Ford released a TSB stating that its normal for their trucks to experience "rough running" during the exhaust regen cycle. The experiences that have occurred with my truck have no correlation to the regen cycle and seem to happen at random times. The truck has become dangerous to drive and pull my horses with as the shaking/bucking is so violent and with a loss of power and unable to accelerate its scary to even attempt to drive in traffic.

26 Equipment problem

Traveling on a paved road. Speed limit 45 mph. It was raining. No puddling was encountered. I entered a slight left turn and encountered a washboard type bump. Immediately, the front of the vehicle vibrated excessively. I released the gas pedal and pushed slightly on the brakes. The rear of the vehicle started to vibrate and the rear axle lost traction allowing the rear of the vehicle to swing violently to the right. I immediately went to the Ford dealership where I purchased the vehicle less than 10 days ago. Service brought it in and I explained the issue of loss of control and an unsafe condition. The service advisor immediately told me to "put weight in the back of the truck. That's normal. " I involved the service manager who went with me over the same route that caused the safety issue. He said, "I see what you were talking about. " the dealership took the truck in for inspection. Nothing was found mechanically. During the inspection, the rear tire pressure was lowered to 65 psi instead of the recomended 80 psi that was set prior from the manufacturer. The tire pressure monitor system was re-calibrated to show the lowered tire pressure. Front pressures were left at the recommended 65 psi. I am now concerned with excessive tire wear running the tires under-inflated. The dealership called Ford and was advised it is a "normal condition" to almost roll over a pickup with such a stiff suspension without a load in the back constantly. Ford is unaware of issue. Lowered tire pressures slightly improved the safety issue on pavement, however: yesterday I was traveling on a road that had the pavement removed down to dirt for repaving. I again hit a washboard, this time going straight and 25 miles per hour. The same vibrate/shaking occurred and the back end again swung to the right without any braking whatsoever. I was close to losing control.
