The tailgate at times comes unlatched. I do have a canopy which keeps the tailgate from dropping down all the way. Truck only has 10700 miles on it and is still on warranty. I have taken it to the dealer twice, they cannot duplicate the problem, nor find anything wrong. I have called Ford customer service 3 times, and have done what they told me to do, but they do not follow through with what they tell me they are going to do. Vechicle is in motion, and has happened when pulling my cargo trailer. Date below was the last time this happened. I do not drive this vechicle much.
Tailgate opens on its own unexpectedly. It seems like it happens when putting it in gear. Never had it happen at much speed. It happens at least once every week or two. Seems to happen a lot while backing up. It also happens just sitting there. Have it happen with key fob just sitting in the console and nobody touching it.
First happened at 7,000 miles had it worked on now happened at 13,000. Front shakes violently after hitting even a small bump, must slow down or would loose control. Accures anytime at highway speeds.
My 2017 Ford f 350 XLT 4x4 sb has 30,000 miles. On tues. Morning my wife and I were driving back to mesa,az. From panguitch, utah. A couple miles into our trip , while driving 55 mph we hit a bumpy area of the road and the truck starting shaking violently, like having a blowout. I had to pull over to see what what was happening. I could see no damage to any tires , so we kept driving and it happened again less than 10 minutes into the drive. . This time I slowed down until I regained control. We did not have any more issues the rest of our trip to mesa. We were pulling a 40 ft. Fifth wheel #13,500. At the time. We were just finishing up our summer trip when this happened. This happened about 45 days earlier just outside cheyenne, wy. , after reading a lot of similar incidents from other Ford owners. I felt that I needed to report this issue.
Refr: rear back-up camera. The back-up camera view has a cloudy/foggy appearance. It is severe enough that it is useless. Online research has shown this to be a wide-spread problem. The various fixes attempted have had spotty success in correcting the problem. The dealer informed me that Ford is aware of the problem. The dealer recommended replacing the control module for the camera system at a very high cost to me (I have not done the repair). The increased safety benefit to having a back-up camera has been completely compromised. (as a side note, there are several cameras on this vehicle. All but one have a cloudy/foggy appearance, but it is the back-up camera that is of most concern because of the blind areas that cannot be seen without it when backing up. ).
The door ajar light, dome light, and truck bed light stays on when the doors are closed and while driving on city roads. Once on the highway the senor will finally go off. We have told the dealership about the problem a few times but they refuse to do anything if they cannot see it happening. After driving to the dealership, the problem is not visible because we have to take the highway. They finally scheduled an appt. But waiting until the warranty expired to tell us they had time for us to bring it. It has literally been 3 years this month!.
My 2017 panoramic sunroof pops open when it wants and it leaks very bad on all the electronic in the vehicle and I have a pacemaker, I can't be shocked by anything or it kills the pacemaker, so the leaking issue Ford will not help me on which Ford has never wanted to help ever since I owned the truck, this is a issue if someone has a implant like a pacemaker people can't be shocked if having one, your help is much appreciated thanks.
I've experienced a problem twice with my 2017 f350 super duty truck called the "death wobble. " at highway speeds hitting an uneven road surface, my truck front wheels begin to shake uncontrollably. I must immediately slow to a stop to end the wobble. My truck has less than 6k miles, so it isn't because of any worn parts. I found out via the internet it is a common problem with Ford super duty trucks.
My tailgate opened up while pulling a camper while in a right turn and caused damage to the tailgate and 5th wheel camper which I was towing.
On may 24th, 2018 while driving my tailgate automatically came down. I was towing a 5th wheel RV trailer at the time and damage occurred to the tailgate top trim and the RV front garage door. Both the trim and the front garage door had to be replaced, plus touchup paint for the tailgate edges.
The door ajar light will come on and remain on after starting the engine and while driving. This happens while in park and while driving. Even after opening and reclosing the doors before moving the door adjar warning light will not go away. If I get up to 55 mph it'll finally go off. The cabin lights remain on while the display light is on distracting at night and beeps while driving. The doors will not automatically lock, whe I try to lock them, the unlock even at speeds of 45mph. This has been an on going issue since we bought the truck. How am I supposed to know if the door is secure if I've checked them all before driving but the light will not go away. Everything I get to the dealership the lights are gone and they say they are unable to troubleshoot without the issue happening in the moment. Videos do not help they say. How am I going g to know the door will not fly open on the road?.
Experienced death wobble at approximately 58 mph on highway.
2017 f350 back window exploded. The vehicle was stationary, parked in a driveway in a subdivision. I remote started my truck within 5 minutes before I opened the back drivers crew cab door to put a bag on the floor. When I shut the door, the back window exploded as the door closed. The outside temperature was around 23 degrees f. I believe the sudden cab pressure of shutting the door, combined with colder temperatures and a defect in the glass or glass installation is the root cause of the issue.
I went to pick up my trailer in my brand new (1000 miles) 2017 Ford 350 super duty truck. I was unable to attach my existing standard travel trailer safety chains to the truck properly. The 2017 Ford super duty 2 1/2" 15k hitch simply does not allow the proper connection of any standard travel trailer safety chain. The industry standard size of clevis hook on travel trailers is 5/16". None will safely connect and close around this particular factory hitch. The next size up of these hooks is 3/8", and it is too large to fit through the opening freely. The hitch is rated at 15000 pounds. There is no way safety hooks rated to that weight will attach in these small oddly shaped holes. I have now tried 4 different (properly rated) hooks. None will attach properly to this factory hitch. I returned to the dealership. They no recommendations to safely attach the chains. I even tried searching for what others have done to solve this on the internet. People are randomly selecting items, properly rated or not, to attach their safety chains, becasue there does not appear to be a solution. Failure to properly connect trailer safety chains is a serious safety issue. This could lead to trailers breaking free of the tow vehicle. I apologize, but I don't have a picture with the 5/16" hooks. Suffice to say they will go through the holes, but are further from being able to clip safely than the larger 3/8" hooks. Note: the optional/larger Ford 3" 22k hitch has larger holes and allows proper connection of industry standard travel trailer safety chains.
