The contact owns a 2002 Ford f350 sd. The contact stated while driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle began to lose power. The contact shut off the vehicle and restarted. After driving a very short distance, the vehicle would not accelerate past 5 mph. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was informed that the fuel pump, filters, fuel tank and eight fuel injectors would need to be replaced because the fuel tank was rusted. The contact repaired the vehicle himself. The manufacturer advised the failure occurred because the contact failed to keep the fuel tank full. The failure mileage was 39,246 and the current mileage was approximately 50,102.

The contact has a 2005 Ford F-350 that has a 40 gallon tank. The contact stated that the plactic liner placed in the tank has been eatin through by the deisel fuel placed in the tank. This is the second time the contact has had to replace the feul tank and the contact was told this is a chronic problem. The leiner is clogging the the fuel intake valve and causing the vehicle to stall. 226000at time of incident 226500.

The contact owns a 2004 Ford f350. In January of 2008, while driving 40 mph, the vehicle stalled. The contact parked the vehicle and attempted to restart it, but was unsuccessful. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and they stated that the liner in the fuel tank delaminated, causing plastic pieces to flow through the fuel line, pump, and injector. The vehicle was repaired. The contact owns a 2006 Ford F-350 super duty. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled while driving at various speeds on five separate occasions. The contact also stated that the failure was due to the delamination of the fuel tank, which created a flaky substance within the fuel tank. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and the contact was informed that the fuel tank was delaminating. The contact replaced the fuel filter himself after the five separate failures.
