2 Front Suspension problem of the 2019 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 10/13/2021

Our truck begins shaking violently while driving down the highway. This has happened 3 times on the last 5 weeks. It appears to be brought on randomly by normal road “bumps” the violent shaking begins and we cannot regain control until we come to a stop. This las time, we’re on the highway surrounded by passenger vehicles and professional trucks when it began and we needed to stop to make the shaking stop and could not get over. This is going to cause major accidents for anyone around us. This is a 2019 vehicle and we service it regularly, last time being 8/26/21. These three incidences occurred on 9/8/21, 10/7/21 & 10/13/21 this needs to be recalled! it’s very dangerous, we lose control and feels like the truck is going to split in two and drop.

6 Front Suspension problem of the 2019 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 09/27/2021

Traveling down interstate and crossed a bridge that was bumpy and my front end was like my tires were bouncing like a basketball. I thought the front end was coming out from under it and slammed on brakes and started pulling to side of road. After inspecting tires and lugs, I saw nothing wrong and decided to try driving again. As speed increased, there was no problem and eventually got back to speed with no bouncing. Happened again later and I carried truck to Ford dealership. They replaced the steering wheel linkage damper at no charge. The problem was better but not fixed. I carried truck back and they replaced the front suspension tie and charged me $534. 37 saying it was not their problem. I disagree.

9 Front Suspension problem of the 2011 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 09/14/2021

First issues is the high pressure fuel pump the cp4. They tend to fall apart sending metal through your injectors all the way back to the fuel tank. It is a well known issue and Dodge has made the recall on the same pump. Second is the shaking of the steering wheel after hitting a bump in the road you have to slow down below 25 mph to get it to stop it’s know as “ death wobble”. The other issue is the upper oil pan leaks had it repaired under warranty and less than 2 years later it is leaking again. It is also a well known issue with the 6. 7 power stroke diesel motor.

10 Front Suspension problem of the 2019 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 09/07/2021

While driving on the interstate at approximately 60 mph, I hit a bump on a curved portion of the roadway, which resulted in severe wobbling of the steering wheel and leaving me unable to control the vehicle until I came almost to a stop. This occurred twice at the same location over the period of a week and once more and a different location after that.

11 Front Suspension problem of the 2017 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 08/18/2021

When you hit a bump it shakes uncontrollable. You cannot steer after it starts shaking and it goes into other lanes and almost hit other vehicles on number of occasions. Yes has been brought to the dealership twice. Have changed number of different parts. No warning came up on system.

12 Front Suspension problem of the 2014 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 07/29/2021

3 times, while driving at highway speeds (55 -70 mph) the truck front end has entered into a violent oscillation, with steering wheel juddering. Rapidly slowing to a stop or <25 mph has allowed control of vehicle to be regained. Fortunately this has only happened in light traffic and while following a straight road allowing vehicle to be pulled to shoulder. I am not sure what would happen if vehicle was in a turn or in heavy traffic unable to reach the emergency lane. First time this happened I assumed front shocks were bad and had them replace. However this has not fixed the problem as it has happened twice since, after running over expansion joints on a bridge/interstate interface and expansion joint on the road. Have since learned this is not an isolated issue unique to my vehicle.

At speeds over 50 miles per hour going over bumps the steering wheel shakes violently. Also occurs during hard breaking.

14 Front Suspension problem of the 2017 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 01/12/2021

Hitting the smallest bump in the road at highway seed causes the steering wheel to shake violently. The vehicle is uncontrollable at this point. One has to slow down considerably to regain control. This situation is very dangerous. From what I understand this is a very common problem with this model. Milage does not seem to be a factor.

15 Front Suspension problem of the 2015 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 12/09/2020

Vehicle wobbles violently above approximately 50mph and when go over slight bump or uneven road surface. Have to slow down rapidly almost to a stop for the violent wobbling to stop. Also wobbles slightly at low speed. This has happened multiple times now. Took it in to the dealer the first time it happened, while it was still under warranty, but the dealer said it was not a big deal and they did not have time to fix it.

16 Front Suspension problem of the 2019 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 10/12/2020

Front end suspension and steering wheel shake violently when hitting a bump in the road at around 65 mph. Lost complete control of truck until I hit brakes hard to slow down and shimmying stopped. Very serious and dangerous situation. This has happened two times, once at about 30,000 miles and again at 45000 miles.

19 Front Suspension problem of the 2006 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 07/17/2011

This has happened several times when the truck is traveling along a road or highway. Your drive turns into a death wobble. The truck is uncontrollable and jumps lanes and is all over the road. This is a danger that has been presented to Ford by many and it is just being ignored. This is a true danger and may not only kill the driver and passengers but anyone driving down the road. It's all over the internet and happening all over the country. This is being swept under the carpet, just as the pinto was, with many deaths. You as the safety board need to step up and do something so consumers can drive the vehicles that they have purchased, for many over $55,000.

21 Front Suspension problem of the 2003 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 04/17/2011

My 2003 f350 has all of the death wobble issues, driving at 55 or 70 on the highway the front end will just go into a crazy wobble in which I have to slow down to try and fix. Sometimes when I use the brake pedal it will also go into the same event. Ive read all these issues on the net and cannot understand that if its such a huge problem why is it not being addresed. Will it take one of these vehicles killing a family member of the people at Ford to get this under control or maybe they just dont care as long as they are making money. To the family members of the Ford people and everyone else I pray for you. I do not know what to do for my truck to fix it.

23 Front Suspension problem of the 2007 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 11/12/2010

I have a 2007 F-350 harley davidson cc at highway speeds mostly in corners but also on straightaway, the truck starts shake violently, almost uncontrollable. To get this to stop, I have to slow way down and almost stop. This problem has been reported to the dealer, where they replaced some of the front steering components. I was told that the problem was fixed, but about 100 miles down the road, the shaking started again. I subsequently called the dealer, who informed me that there was nothing else that they could do, as the truck is now out of warranty. This problem was reported, and supposedly fixed prior to the warranty running out. I have spoken to other people with similar issues with their trucks. The severity of the shaking in the steering wheel makes it almost impossible to control safely. I feel very unsafe driving this vehicle, and would like for someone at Ford to let me know what I can do to fix this problem. I don't agree that Ford will do nothing about this problem, even though there have been many complaints of the same nature, however I just want my truck fixed. Whether or not I have to pay for it, I just want someone to tell me how to fix this problem. There have been no modifications, and the tires on my truck have been supplied by the dealer.

24 Front Suspension problem of the 2006 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 08/15/2010

The contact owns a 2006 Ford F-350 super duty. The contact was driving approximately 60 mph over a road bump when the contact lost all steering control. He had to decrease the vehicles' speed to 30 mph to regain steering control. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic where the steering bushing, shocks, lower control, and idler arms were replaced. The failure recurred within three weeks of the repairs. The contact located an investigation (NHTSA item number: pe07057- suspension:front) which described failure and inquired with the dealer. The dealer set the tire pressure to the correct manufacturer's specifications to correct the failure. The failure mileage was 86,800 and the current mileage was 86,444.

25 Front Suspension problem of the 2008 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 03/23/2010

Experienced violent shudder / wobble after hitting bump at 65 mph while towing 7,000 lbs. Camper. Experienced same wobble at 40 mph after hitting pot hole 7 days later. After reviewing online footage, I appear to have experienced the event commonly referred to as “death wobble. Problem goes away after coming to a complete stop.

26 Front Suspension problem of the 2005 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 10/22/2009

My 2005 sd F-350 crew cab Ford truck shimmies violently when traveling on the interstate and I hit some uneven roadway. It doesn't stop until I almost come to a stop or slow down to below 45mph. The shimmy is very uncontrollable and dangerous and sometime the truck changes lines do to the violent shaking.

27 Front Suspension problem of the 2006 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 08/25/2009

I own a 2006 Ford F-350 4x4 short bed crew cab pickup truck. I am the original owner and no modifications have ever been made. I have kept the vehicle in good mechanical shape, kept the tires inflated to recommended levels, and kept the tires balanced and rotated. The vehicle has always experienced a severe steering oscillation whenever the vehicle is traveling over 50 mph and hits a small bump on the highway. The oscillation is most severe if the bump is hit while in a left turn. When this occurs, I break until speed is reduced to about 30 mph to 40 mph and the oscillation stops. When this oscillation occurs, the vehicle has limited steering control. It generally travels in a straight direction but does not respond well to steering wheel input until the oscillation is dampened. The vehicle is difficult and in some cases impossible to control. This oscillation has occurred numerous times. In the case today, this oscillation was so severe that it has caused the vehicle to swerve into the opposing traffic lane. I nearly had a head on collision, the opposing vehicle moved over to the shoulder to allow me to pass. These oscillations have occurred with both the original continental lt275/70r18 tires and also the replacement michelin lt275/70r18 tires. Tires pressures have been maintained at 65 psi front and 75 psi rear as recommended by the owner's manual.

28 Front Suspension problem of the 2005 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 08/20/2009

I own a 2005 Ford f 350 that sometimes has a violent steeringwheel shake at highway speeds after hitting small bumps in roadway. Has happened maybe 5 times in 4years where so severe that could not turn steering wheel until speed was reduced by braking quickly.

29 Front Suspension problem of the 2006 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 08/17/2009

I purchased new a 2006 f350 4x4 3 years ago. I have had numerous (so there are many dates this has occurred) left front end death wobbles when taking a sweeping turn to the left at about 70 mph on a freeway with some bumps under the left front tire. This wobble is so bad that I have to immediately slow the vehicle to almost 30 mph on the freeway for it to go away. I have taken this truck in to the dealer several times for this wobble to no avail. I have rotated tires and made sure the tires are inflated properly by the dealer. Tire inflation does not resolve this issue. After proper inflation by the dealer and checked by me, I still get the "death wobble". Recently, I received a generic letter from Ford acknowledging the fact that this issue is not uncommon and that I should make sure my tires are inflated properly. I have done this several times. I have now searched the internet and find that this problem is not uncommon. I need to know how to get this problem fixed. It is dangerous to me and my family.

30 Front Suspension problem of the 2006 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 08/10/2009

I own a 2006 f350 4x4 XLT and when I hit a bump at over 55mph the front shakes and feels like it is coming off. I know this is a problem that numerous super duty owners have. I have done extensive research and know that this has caused serious injury and I am sure death.

31 Front Suspension problem of the 2005 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 06/20/2009

I own a 2005 Ford F-350 4x4 6. 0 diesel. It has 63,000 miles on it. On many occasions the steering wheel has shimmied or oscillated violently to the point I almost lost control of the truck. This is very dangerous. When the front wheels hit a bump or pothole, with a very small amount of turning the vehicle to the left or right such as going around a curve, the front wheels have started to violently shimmy or oscillate causing the steering wheel to violently shimmy back and forth. This usually occurs at speeds above 40 mph. Four times I have almost lost control of the truck. Once the truck turned left into an oncoming lane but fortunately there where no oncoming vehicles at that moment. I had to slow down to about 25-30 mph and move to the shoulder of the road to gain control of the vehicle. This is a serious problem with this vehicle especially in heavy traffic or on two lane mountain roads. I originally complained about this after I purchased the vehicle in February 2005, and was told the truck was within specs and there was nothing to be done. I request the NHTSA look into this. I have discussed this with other owners and they too have had similar loss of control problems from steering wheel shimmy or oscillation. I believe there are other trucks that have the same problem.

32 Front Suspension problem of the 2002 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 06/15/2009

My truck wobbles between 40mph-45mph. Replaced tires, replaced shocks. Had truck checked out and pep boys said everything is fine. The said I could replace approximately 1300. 00 in parts and labors but no guarantee it will stop shaking.

33 Front Suspension problem of the 2006 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 06/11/2009

I own an 06' Ford f350 sd. I first noticed an extreme tire shimmy/bounce at around 15,000 mi, when a pot hole, bridge expansion or rough road is encountered. The truck now has 105,000 mi. And the problem has become some extreme that I believe it is too dangerous to drive until the problem is remedied. The bouncing is so extreme that control of the truck is nearly lost. Ford has sent me a letter claiming improper tire pressure is the problem, I have adjusted but to no help. The truck shimmys/ shakes uncontrollably, at every bump encountered. This is an extremely dangerous situation which is wide spread among sd owners according to postings on the web. Please help!.

34 Front Suspension problem of the 2006 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 04/24/2009

The contact owns a 2006 Ford F-350. While driving 55 mph, the front end of the vehicle struck a bump and drifted from side to side. The contact received a TSB regarding the "shimmy" of the vehicle. The vehicle is currently at a Ford dealer for suspension repair. Ford does not recognize the failure as a safety issue; therefore, no recall has been issued. The current and failure mileages were 11,000.
