The vehicle rolled backward from an incline with the emergency parking brake engaged. The vehicle hit several trees before stopping. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who informed the consumer that the parking brake cable broke.

Retaining clip that attaches cable to parking brake pedal assembly failed, which caused cable to separate from the assembly rendering parking/emergency brake inoperable. Reported failures are common based upon internet search. Manufacturer denied problem exists with design although dealership service departments report multiple repairs of similar problem.

After parking his vehicle with the emergency brakes on, vehicle rolled down the hill, hitting other vehicle, cable on the emergency brake had broken. *akthe cable failure was the cause of the truck rolling and causing an accident, but Ford claims the truck is not involved in the recall for said failure.

While driving at 55mph and applying brakes, brakes hesitate to stop vehicle. Contacted dealer, dealer replaced parts 2 times. However, problem still occurring. Consumer states brake cables have been replaced on numerous occassions, due to dealer using the wrong cables, the cables are causing the brakes to fail.
