One problem related to gas recirculation valve (egr valve) has been reported for the 2005 Ford F-450. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Tl * the contact owns a 2005 Ford F-450. While driving approximately 65-70 mph on normal road conditions, the vehicle expelled excessive white smoke from the tail pipe. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer on four separate occasions for the identical failures. The failure was contributed to the engine in which there were four replacements of the exhaust gas recirculation cooler and the turbo drain tube. In addition, the intake gaskets, high pressure oil pump, and fuel injector control module were replaced. The contact stated that there were other engine related components replaced on several occasions. The failures would occur at an estimation between every 7,500 -12,000 miles. The failure mileage was 86,845 and the current mileage was unknown.
