I was told way back when that door latches had a defect. That there was a recall. Colonial Ford of danbury CT avoided doing the complete recalls. Such is so that I paid out of pocket a transmission rebuild and took Ford 2 years to reemburse me the cost. But the door latch recall was still in effect. It turns out that im getting a door open warning on dash while doors are closed. This was a defect recall going back 5-6 years but was never replaced. Now dealer tells me my car was'nt part of the recall.

I was driving to work this morning; the car made a horrible "clunk" when I accelerated to around 20 then lost power and nearly crashed. The car then displayed error lights (yellow cel, yellow wrench icon, head unit showed "transmission issue service immediately" this is a direct result of the dps6 transmission put into all 7th gen Ford focus/fiesta models. This dct transmission has been replaced 3 times for this particular car and failed the same manner each time - meaning 3 near accidents have occured because this transmission fails. Across the USA; more than 50 people have been injured as a result of this transmission failing.

The door latch on one of the doors has a broken piece inside of it that won't allow the door to close, no dealer has checked it out yet, my safety is a concern because any of the doors could break as well and open while I'm driving.
Top of the driver side door handle broke free from the door. The car has previously been cleared of any recall defects - but a loose door handle may absolutely have something to do with the inner workings of the door/latch and may be a safety issue.

2014 Ford Fiesta manual sedan exhibiting recurring, dangerous hood latch malfunction (recently noticed) where hood unlatches while driving/parked & experiencing sudden power loss when ac is used (fuse removed to prevent this dangerous condition). Potential safety hazards: obstructed vision, hood detachment, engine tampering, sudden loss of control. Ford service advisor admitted hood latch "should" be a recall, yet dealership attempts to charge $350-$500 ($250 diagnostic) for repair instead of initiating recall. This raises concerns Ford prioritizes profit over safety, esp. Since Fiesta is discontinued. Other issues include previous brake pad lock-up requiring costly abs hydraulic control unit repair & door latch recall 20s15 ("door may unlatch while driving"). Multiple recurring issues suggest vehicle may be a lemon overall. Request immediate NHTSA investigation into hood latch defect & electrical/ac power loss issue. Urge recall consideration. I will gladly allow my vehicle to be studied in a NHTSA lab to aid investigation. Concern heightened by Ford's discontinuation of model.
My car worked perfectly fine, I was out using it and coming back from the place I was at. My door just stopped closing out of nowhere. Realizing my door latch is not working at all anymore. It does not move.
Trunk latch releases randomly. Like so many other people with this generation of Ford Fiesta. They have taken them in for the same issue and told they don't by the shop that they don't know what the problem is. The problem is random so getting to to happen while at the shop is next to impossible. If the problem can't be reproduced by a garage mechanic, how would insurance, or police have any luck? there needs to be a recall, because some people are having them pop open while driving at night, and all of a sudden the interior lights come on, safety hazard!!! some will pop open and kill the battery because the dome light comes on when the trunk opens. Then you're standing in subzero temperatures trying to jump start the car. That in and of itself is a safety issue. No warning lights are associated with this.

Every once in a while I go around a left handed curve, the right side passenger door it comes out, it will unlatch and then latch back.
When a rear seat passenger exits the vehicle and closes the door, the rear door does not latch properly. This causes the door to swing open while the car is moving. The vehicle is available for inspection. The problem has manifested itself on several occasions, especially when I am dropping off school children at their stop. The crossing guard has been kind enough to close the door for me. That is, he closes the door after it swings open. The vehicle has not been inspected by a dealer or repair shop (yet). The problem first appeared last week, after the thanksgiving holiday break. There were no symptoms to warn of the problem. It just appeared out of the blue, so to speak. To describe the problem further: the door is closed by the passenger who has just exited the car. There is no "door open" light to indicate a problem. Then, after a few seconds, the door springs open and the "door open" light appears. It is annoying when it happens. It is also a safety issue.
Drivers door since purchasing the car in 2017 when it's cold out "winter time" by drivers door once open, will not latch back and close- takes it warming up before my drivers door will latch and shut . Temps 30 or under , the mechanism freezes and will not allow the door to latch shut.

I have a 2011 Ford Fiesta. The vehicle has a really serious issue relating to the fuse box that is mounted under the hood. This issue has a recall and I scheduled it for service at the Ford dealer in bryan, ohio. (bryan Ford) I have issues with this vehicle that make it extremely unsafe for me and my family to drive. The headlights randomly go out while driving, both passenger and drivers side are affected by this. The doors will not lock and I have no horn now either, making us a target for car jacking. About a month before I found out there was a recall for this I hit a racoon and it knocked off the plastic wheel cover. After I took it in to have the recall fixed bryan Ford refused to repair this recall due to the missing plastic. I believe my family and I are going to be seriously injured in this vehicle because of the electrical problems related to the recalled fusebox. I blow a headlight approximately once a week and the fuses blow constantly. I believe they do not want to fix this because it is a very time consuming repair that they feel isn't worth thier time. The anxiety I have while driving this car after dark is excruciating and I feel that my families lives are worth the time for this repair. Is this legal for them to decline a known and well documented safety issue related to the fuse box in this vehicle? perhaps a buy back should be recalled since this does make the vehicle a serious hazzard to anyone on the road including my family.

Back ride side door will not latch and stay closed,if aperson was in back seat with door that won't latch that person is in a dangerious position. Backing out of drive way door opened and wouldnot latch shut.
Rear passenger door latch failed. We were forced to use a ratchet strap to return home safely due to door swinging open on turns. The safety recall for this was created in 2015 but as of June 2023 there is still not a solution from Ford. They also will not reimburse any repair done after 2017. This is unacceptable.
Its the third time I find the hud of my car open! I was driving in the city and the speed was under 25 mph when I found out , im just concerned if im driving in a highway and that happens!.
I opened the back passenger door and now it wont shut.
Door latching.

The contact owns a 2013ford Fiesta. The contact stated that his vehicle was under recall NHTSA 15v246. The contact stated that he went to get his vehicle repaired he was advised that there were no programs in place for the recall, and that they will not repair his vehicle until it is known for a fact that Ford will reimburse the dealer. The contact stated it has been a long period of time that he has been waiting to get his vehicle repaired due to recall. The failure mileage was unknown.
Alarm is constantly going off which means I don't know if it's a real intruder or just the door ajar switch, recall affected up until 2015 but the issue keeps going into 2016 Ford Fiestas, this is a safety issue as we cannot tell if someone is breaking into the car.
1)14mo2 - the transmission control module (tcm) failed. Yes it is available for inspection upon request, however the issue has been repaired since the malfunction. The vehicle could no longer be controlled. It could not shift gear. The check engine light came on, but the vehicle was not operational. A 65 year old disabled operator was transporting her 6 year old granddaughter home from school when the malfunction took place. Two lives inside the vehicle were placed at risk as well as the lives of other drivers and passengers in the vicinity. The problem has been confirmed by the dealer. Ford issued a 14mo2 warranty extension on this part. We brought the vehicle to covert Ford of hutto, TX who confirmed the warranty extension. However, they would not cover the repair, because the extension expired 3 months prior. Due to the covid pandemic, the high risk elderly category of the driver, she did not seek repair earlier. Also, she is not the first owner of the pre-owned vehicle and did not receive any information regarding this warranty extension to seek repair. The vehicle and component has been inspected by covert Ford of hutto. The check engine light came on at the time of failure. At that point a tow truck was called (the vehicle was not operational) and it was towed to the dealer, covert Ford of hutto. 2)2os30 - door latch recall. This has been repaired. Yes, vehicle is avail. For inspect. On req. 65 year old disabled driver and passengers put at risk for door opening while in motion. Other drivers in vicinity put at risk. Problem confirmed by dealer with recall issued. Component inspected and replaced by dealership covert Ford of hutto. The door did not shut properly. No warning lamps/lights to indicate an issue.
Car shutoff while driving on the highway.
Front passenger door latch don't stay shut and not able to latch shut, moving turning left the door swung open. In city street. . Notice it was on a recall. . . Turned it in on April 6,2021.
Vehicle's front driver side window spontaneously fell off track and into the door while in a car wash at dealership. Operator was overcome with water, entire interior was soaking wet.
When opening passenger door to deposit bags into passenger seat door latch malfunctioned and would no longer allow door to fully latch and remain closed. The latch mechanism moved freely when manipulated and was not stuck in the closed position. Vehicle was not in motion and parked, but had to be driven after the latch failure resulting in the passenger door wanting to swing open when driving if not held. There was an active recall shown for 2014-2015 Ford Fiesta's door latch, but I was told my VIN did not qualify for the recall and was charged $325. 17 for the repair/replacement at the local dealership.
My recall states that Ford has not issued instructions to stop driving your vehicle under this safety. My back door latch opened while driving which makes the car undrivable and needing a tow, possibly causing an accident. I had a ptsd response to the incident and had to go to the doctor because of the stress induced on my body. I also required medical massages. My front door hinge also was about to break the service dept informed me as well which is not on this recall. Other owners may not be so lucky.
~tl the contact owns a 2015 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated that as he was making a left turn and he was rear ended. The left rear quarter panel was hit and the vehicle turned sideways. As a result, the rear axel was bent and the left rear wheel was angled inward. The vehicle had to be towed to a dealer body shop for green Chevrolet, inc. 8017 knoxville Ave, peoria, IL 61615 (888) 701-3462. There were no injuries and a police report was filed. The dealer diagnosed issue as a damaged and bent axel and wanted to replace it with a used axel. The vehicle was still being repaired with another used axel at this time. The manufacturer had not been called yet. The failure mileage was 69,800.
Nothing.
On August 5 I fell asleep and ran into the back of a truck stopped at a light. My knee air bag deployed but the steering wheel bag did not and the shoulder belt did not deploy causing me to hit the steering wheel very hard bruising my sternum and causing surrounding muscle inflammation that is still sore today.
Passenger door will not latch. It will just swing back open once closed.
Coming back from grocery shopping, I entered a parked car, pulled out and the back passenger side door swung open. I pulled back in, and was unable to latch close the door. Not blocked in the locked position, but unable to fasten when the door is completely closed. I had to buy duct tape to keep it closed. I later learned that Ford has several complaints and a pre-recall number that reflects my issue. 20s15. I am reporting this as it is a highly dangerous situation and I can not cope long with the back door seat belted by the arm. Please bring enforcement pressure to the Ford company. Thanks.
The door on my 2013 Ford Fiesta open!! my daughter was making a left turn to merge on to the interstate when the rear passenger door flew open and all the things she had fell out! suppose my little nieces were in there or the door flies open and a car hits it! I looked up how to fix when I came across a recall stating the doors unlatch!! recall: 20s30 is the recall; I went to the dealership. The service advisor stated they they don't have the kits to fix all 4 doors right now and they won't have them until September !! in the meantime I could have one door fixed for about $500! I could save my invoice and ask for reimbursement after all doors have been fixed; after recall is performed. This is a huge safety issue because if I fix one door what's to see another door just open and something tragic occurs! I need to drive the vehicle; we don't have any other means of transportation. I have doctor appointments 4-5 times a week; not to mention work as well! we need some assistance , someone that is willing to address and rectify this issue immediately.
My trunk pops open on its own. At least 3 times a day at random. Giving access into the vehicle. This happens while I'm driving and while the car is stationary. I have woken up at 4 am and my trunk be open. I've been driving at 60mph and the trunk open. Been in a drive through and the trunk open. This has been going on for months. My son seen the trunk was open and shut it repeatedly just for it to open every few minutes. This is a common issue with these and similar Ford vehicles.
I discovered after accessing my left rear passenger door the other day and attempting to shut it, that the left rear passenger door latch appears to have failed, preventing my vehicle's door from latching shut. I currently have to keep it closed by using the left rear passenger seatbelt through the handle of the door, otherwise the door would swing freely while driving. The vehicle does not lock now, and the open door indicator light remains open due to the failed latch.
My vehicle is a 2016 Ford Fiesta st with a sunroof. I live in an area where there is not much flat land to park vehicles. My driveway is greater than a 20% grade. This complaint is related to sunroof seal leaks in any mode of operation. The sunroof seal is a single strip of rubber with a disconnected seam that is oriented at the top of the sunroof. As the rubber ages, the rubber shrinks and the seam can develop into a gap that lets water inside the sunroof drainage tray. If the sunroof seal leaks or fails, the car is designed to collect the water and drain it to a location near the front wheel wells. This works perfectly as long as the car is level. If the car is parked at a 15% grade or steeper with the front of the vehicle pointing upwards, the sunroof seal will leak, but the water collected will not drain toward the intended drains. The water will instead flow down the sides of the roofline inside plastic troughs. These troughs are not well drained to the exterior. The water will flow through the troughs and exit into the interior of the vehicle near the head liner and the rear plastic trim of the interior next to the rear window. This will eventually fill up the sealed spare tire well, and will cause corrosion over time. This corrosion may affect the car's structural integrity and may affect the car's crash worthiness if allowed to continue. The water is only noticeable if the trunk shelf is removed, which in many vehicles will never happen. The water also has a tendency to collect on the rear seatbelt spool and the spool support fasteners. If the water is left on the seatbelt spools for long enough time, the seatbelts for the rear seats can be weakened over time by corrosion. The seatbelt issue may not become a safety concern until sometime in the car's future in the secondhand market. Black mold growth may become an issue as well.
Tl- the contact owns a 2014 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated that the vehicle's rear passenger side door failed to lock. The contact stated that a rope has to be tied across the vehicle in order for the door to remain closed. The contact contacted the dealership (quick lane at village Ford of belleview address: 11660 us-441, belleview, FL 34420 phone: (352) 233-2950) who informed the contact that the locks had to be replaced and that their vehicle was not included in a recall. The NHTSA campaign numbers that the failure relates to are: 20v177000 (latches/locks/linkages), 17v210000 (latches/locks/linkages), 15v246000 (latches/locks/linkages). The vehicle had not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that the vehicle was not included in any of the recalls. The approximate failure mileage was 58,000. Gl.
Rear passenger door will not stay closed. This is the same issue noted in NHTSA campaign number: 15v246000. Vehicle was repaired in 2015 and as noted, door is again broken - will not stay closed.
