1 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2015 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 07/10/2021

Car displayed low coolant on display. Added coolant and coolant light went away. A few days later, the check engine light came on and the car could not drive faster than 20 mph. Took to the Ford dealership and was informed that the cooling system had overheated and caused the oil to end up in the cylinder. The cooling system overheated 1. 5 years ago and had the thermostat replaced under warranty. Now vehicle has 71,000 miles and out of warranty. Ford dealer says that the whole engine needs to be replaced. It has 1. 0l ecoboost engine which apparently has many issues.

2 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2015 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 11/29/2019

My car likes to decelerate when my foot is on the gas. Sometimes it will stop while I am driving it on the road I have repeatedly taken it in to the dealership where I purchased my vehicle. They keep saying nothing is wrong. I know for a fact that a car should never stop unless your foot is on the brake. Also my check engine light is always on and the dealership where I purchased my car has turned it off for me and it will just turn back on.

9 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2014 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 05/05/2016

I leased the car through my bank on may 5th 2016 with just over 35,000 miles. Two months into that the car didn't start and all electronic lights were flickering. It displayed transmission malfunction. I towed the car to a big Ford repair shop. They said it needed a new transmission update and a new clutch. They took care of it. This has happened seven (7) times since I got the car may 2016. Pretty much every four months. It is completely inconvenient and costly. I have also been having problems with the evap fuel components. I have a check engine light on now and it needs to be serviced. The last time I got a transmission update from Ford was in March 2019. My car now barely has 66,200 miles so it's very disappointing the amount of work and transmission issues I've had to deal with. I still owe $4,800 on the car. I leased it for $12,000. I am hoping I am able to get some help or some kind of compensation for dealing with the issues for years. I traded in a good working Jeep to get this car because I thought it would be good on gas and economical. This is my first Ford car. I will probably never buy another Ford car. I wouldn't want to get burned again. Thank you for your time.

10 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2013 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 04/11/2016

While driving on the highway the power train/engine malfunction warning light (wrench shaped) warning light came on and remained on until I parked and turned off the car. At the end of the work day I started the car and the warning light was not on. I took the car to a Ford service center and was told wires had melted together and needed to be replaced. The reason I was given by the service center is:" test drive - check engine light on, no symptoms detected. Ids test pcm koeo-pass. Cont - p2138 (app sensor correlation error), koer-pass, per TSB 13-11-15, bypass circuits le136, le137, and re137 at connector c210, pins 1, 8, and 9 respectively, switch app sensor connector pins 1 and 2. ".

13 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2011 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 08/21/2014

I was driving home from work in the early afternoon on August 21, 2014 when my car seemed to lose throttle. I had noticed it was sluggish to pick up speed around 5 miles before. Immediately before the car lost throttle, as if it were in neutral, the check engine light came on, an audible alert was made, and then most of the service lights came on. I managed to pull the car over in about 30 seconds, and once I was parked I could see flames coming out of the left side of the hood. I turned the car off at that point, got out, and called 911. Unfortunately the front of the vehicle was completely engaged by the time the fire crew arrived. The vehicle was a total loss.

14 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2012 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 07/21/2014

The vehicle had an abnormal idle while at a stop, and would sometimes stall. Upon acceleration the vehicle would hesitate and jerk forward. I took the vehicle to the dealership to rectify the issue. I was told that the mechanic cleared the code for the check engine light, but the internal wiring harness needed to be replaced, on a car that was a little over 2 years old. The internal wiring harness was not covered under any type of warranty. The repair was completed at a cost to me of $245. 99. Less than 2 months later, the vehicle was having the same issues, abnormal idle, stalling, and hesitant and jerky accelerating. Again, I took the car back to the dealership for repair. This time the dealership replaced the transmission and clutch front seals, input seals, and axles seals, changed transmission fluid, added 2 quarts of transmission dual clutch transmission fluid. This repair was covered under the Ford 5 year, 60,000 mile power train warranty. About 5 weeks later I was still having the same issues, abnormal idle, hesitant and jerky acceleration. Again, I took my car to the dealership. This time I was told that the throttle body was bad and needed to be replaced. With no choice, I need to get to work, I told them to go ahead with the repair which once again was not covered under any type of warranty. The total for this repair cost me $720. 26. In less than 3 years I have had to go to the dealership for major repairs 3 times and spent just under $1,000, plus the inconvenience of rental cars, days off of work, and the general annoyance of knowing my new vehicle has major mechanical issues.

15 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2011 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 03/06/2014

While coming to a stop light check engine light started flashing. Had no response from accelerator peddle. Would not go. Was able to roll into a parking lot. After shutting off vehicle and restarting it ran fine. Continued 1-2 miles and condition occurred again. Had to restart in the road to continue home. Ran fine to work and back the next day. Then, on highway while going 65-70 started to lose speed and had no response from accelerator peddle. Came to a rolling stop unable to go. Luckily was able to coast to shoulder without getting hit . Took it to a dealership to learn that a throttle body is needed at a cost of $1000. 00. This is now sitting in the drive as we cant afford the $1000. 00. Big safety issue as unable to accelerate and get off of road at unexpected times.

16 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2013 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 11/27/2013

Transmission hesitates and crackles when accelerating from stops. Check engine light constantly on.

17 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2013 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 08/05/2013

I picked up this vehicle brand- new from the dealership on 8/2/13. By 8/5, three days after I got the car, the entire front end had started to shudder and chug, and the "check engine" light came on. It felt like a deep-seated timing issue (the engine rpms had been a bit off since I picked up the car on 8/2, and it appeared to be shifting oddly, even before the check engine light came on). The clutch also engaged at odd times (I bought an automatic), and it didn't appear that the engine rpms and transmission shifting were synching up correctly at all. My diagnosis was confirmed when I took the vehicle to romano Ford in syracuse, NY, where I purchased the vehicle. The next day (8/6), I was told that a "cam phaser" had failed on the engine due to a manufacturing defect, and that the engine oil would need to be completely flushed and changed. After a bit of research, I found out that the phaser is a small gear that regulates engine timing. . . . By being cut incorrectly, metal shavings from the gear had contaminated my engine oil. This, obviously, is not an easy fix. By screwing up my engine timing, the regulation of my entire vehicle is screwed up. The car has been sitting in the shop since 8/6 (it is now 8/22), with no resolution in sight. They brought in a Ford technician from god-knows-where that is supposed to fix it; it was supposed to be fixed 2 days ago to no avail. I am now closing in on the time period for invoking the NY state lemon law; I hope I can get my $ back and send this thing to the dump! Ford needs to recall these crappy things ASAP!.
