1 Front Seat Head Restraint problem of the 2012 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 10/23/2011

The headrest is causing me to have headaches due to the forward leaning position of the headrest. I have tried all the situations of the seat and it is the same for all of them. I am 5'2 and in my research have found most other short people have the same issue.

2 Front Seat Head Restraint problem of the 2011 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 05/27/2011

The head restrain on the Ford Fiesta 2011 that I have is very inconvenient in order for me to drive the car I have to remove the head restrain so my head can be in a upright position. When I keep the head retrain in place I have to lean my head forward when on the driving seat. This is not a convenient way for me the driver. There has not been any accident related to the head restrain from me besides neck ace.

3 Front Seat Head Restraint problem of the 2011 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 04/13/2011

The rear head restraints in the 2011 Ford Fiesta create severe blind spots out from the rear of the car. These blind spots can only be managed by removing of both the left and right head restraints. This creates a safety hazard for passengers who do not know, or replace the head restraints in a rear collision. Ford has addressed this issue in their 2012 models, by using a head restraint that folds down when not in use by a passenger. Ford has failed to include this update to the 2011 year lineup. I live in a major urban area and have seen many of these cars driving around with either no head restraints present, or installed incorrectly. Ford is charging $300+ per headrest mechanism. The part number is <611a08 I humbly request that the NHTSA please look into this matter. I was unfortunately in a hard rear end collision last winter and will attest to how well the head restraints work in crash conditions. Thank you very much for your time.

4 Front Seat Head Restraint problem of the 2011 Ford Fiesta

Failure Date: 09/24/2009

The new head restraint position on the cars make it impossible for my wife to drive the car comfortably. She has short arms and legs, which require the seat to be forward and upright. The headrest in this position is places her head tipped down toward her chest. Again, uncomfortable to drive. To get the seat where it needs to be to drive, and her looking straight out the windshield, the headrest needed to be removed and/or installed backwards. The backwards position is a safer option. A headrest without as much of a pitch forward is needed. Her 2002 focus was no problem, but regretfully the headrests are not interchangeable.
