My engine light came on so I took it to Ford dealership and they told me it's the car computer not understanding when the engine is turned off and that it is not an urgent issue to keep driving it since they are backed up. A week later while driving the car just stopped the engine light started glitching. After 2 minutes it starts again. So I called Ford explained what happened they could check it a week later so I start calling around. Found Ford dealership that can check it immediately, then they told me that the issue is a wiring problem that Ford has sent them a bulletin about but it is not a recall. I told them that it should be a recall if Ford knew that a wiring issue can make your car just stop in the middle of traffic with no warning whatsoever. The issue on my invoice says eec test codes p2610 p2138, pin point test, need to perform TSB 13-11-15 wire repair bypass connector c210 to pcm, reprogram pcm to latest software. It is a safety issue if your car just stops working in the middle of traffic and Ford know but refuse to issue a recall for it.

While my 16 yr old twin sons were driving on freeway, a loud pop of pressure release from motor occured, and steam blew out from under hood obscurring their visibilty. They were able to pull over safely and call me. Upon arrival, after confirming they were ok, I checked under hood to see that the intake manifold had built up to much pressure for the pcv hose and the recirculating hose that connects to top of valve cover. Oil had sprayed out everywhere and car will not start. Ive lost compression in 2 cylinders now from the fast overheat. My childrens safety was severily compromised by this chain reaction of a failed pcv valve. Ive since found out of recalls. This is whats stated for my 2015 Ford focus, but happened to my 2012 Ford Fiesta oct 22,2018 manufacturer recall number18s32 NHTSA recall number18v735 recall statusrecall incomplete summary on your vehicle, the pcm software may not adequately detect a stuck-open canister purge valve (cpv) within the fuel vapor system. If the cpv malfunctions and sticks open, it can lead to excessive vacuum in the fuel vapor system, potentially deforming the plastic fuel tank. This can cause the following symptoms: illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (mil) with certain diagnostic trouble codes (dtcs) inaccurate or erratic fuel gauge indication inaccurate distance to empty (dte) engine stall and/or other drivability concerns related to stuck open cpv safety risk this may result in an engine stall while driving without warning or without the ability to restart, and can increase the risk of a crash. I now have 2 auto loans im upside down on for recalls that I cant even get my car to Ford because I cant afford the tow. I pay over $500 monthly for lemons.
When I purchased my vehicle new I had several problems with the transmission. After several trips to joe cotton Ford in carol stream, IL there was no remedy besides removing the cables from the battery to reset the vehicle's computer. On September of this year I received a letter from Ford motor CO. To advise that they need to do a software update due to a tcm circuit failure. I took my vehicle to friendly Ford 333 e irving park, roselle, IL, on Monday November 11, 2019, so they can rectify the problem. Prior to taking my vehicle to the dealership I removed the battery cables. Apparently the dealership was not able to install the new software. The service advisor advised me that the card code reader was not able to identify the error message and they had to charge me. My vehicle was at the dealership for several days and they loaned me a car while it was in service. I was charged $199. 00 for them to look at the problem and since they could not update the software I had to pay the bill. I called Ford motor CO. For assistance and the agent told me that there was little they can do since the dealership is a franchise. This is unjust that I was charged for something I was advised that would be free of charge. I hope to be reimbursed.

Lost power while driving, problem occurred 4 times in the span of driving 10 miles, struggled to get home. Occurred while on freeway, at red light, and high speed or slow speed did not matter. Car would ding the alert sound, several warning lights would flash, and I would be immediately be forced to coast to the side of road each time. Three instances posed serious risk to others as my car lost momentum before safely making it off the road, and other cars had to move around my car. Problem matches the manufacturer communication below from 2015, which means this has been a long term design flaw. This needs to be marked as a safety recall. Nhtsa id number: 10058725 manufacturer communication number: sb-15b22 summary on certain vehicles, transmission control module (tcm) had developed electrical circuit failures, resulting in an intermittent transmission engagement loss while driving or a lack of power or no start and software needs to be replaced.

I purchased a Ford Fiesta 2011 in October, 2010. Within the first year of ownership (around 8,000 miles), the car began to shutter upon initial acceleration at low speeds, especially when going up or down an incline; when moving the accelerator pedal back and forth quickly (in stop and go traffic, for example, or when accelerating to turn left from a stop) the rpms would jump and the car would not accelerate promptly, and then only after harsh jerking. Numerous trips to the dealership resulted in several explainations (and costly "repairs"), including being told I needed a complete engine flush, faulty brake calipers, recalibration of the computer software, and the classic "that is normal operation for the car. " as of February, 2015 (my car now has 50,000), the issue continues to persist and, most concerning of all, my car will now periodically stall with complete engine and electrical failure. Please note the issue described above occurs from a stop and/or at slow speeds. My car has stalled several times while I was attempting to turn left or pull into the road from a driveway. These are particularly hazardous times for the car to fail and severly compromise not only my saftety but those of other drivers on the road. Frustratingly, the dealerships consistently report "there is nothing wrong with the car" and "it functions normally. " a car like mine -- relatively new, average milage, with maintenance always completed at a Ford dealership and according to manufacturer recommendations -- should not stall. I am greatly concerned each and every time I drive the car and Ford's apprently inability to solve the issue.
