The contact owns a 2006 Ford Five Hundred. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, he noticed that the gears became difficult to shift. In order to get the gears to shift, the contact had to gently release the accelerator pedal. No warning lights illuminated to indicate a failure. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer and they stated that they were unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.
