Third time having the fuel pump replaced . Pump fails every 20-30k miles. Car will stop running while driving on roadways, unable to restart vehicle. Had to pull over to side of road and wait for tow. 1st time 36,000 miles 2nd 53,000, 3rd 90,000. All repairs were performed by Ford service center.

Fuel pump failure at 90,000 miles. Exact issue was recalled on some models in the same year, just not my VIN. Pump is in high demand, prices are thus higher than usual and also unavailable thru anyone but Ford directly. My car was, thankfully, in the driveway when failure occurred and was towed to local shop.

While on the highway my car just shut down. 70 mile a hour traffic and it just dies. I get it off the road and have it towedvto a mechanic who tells me that it is the fuel relay sensor. We replace that and the car runs fine for about 4 weeks. While on the highway headed to take my kids to schoo it just dies in the middle of traffic. Once again I call for a tow truck and take it to the mechanics and once again he puts a new fuel pump relay sensor on. A gain it worked fine for about 4 weeks and quit again. Ford told me that my car had a recall on the fuel pump and that it was probaly acting up again. I asked if I could bring it in to be fixed and they quoted me some outrageous price. They said the recall had already been fixed on my car. Well if it had been fixed then I wouldnt be put in these dangerous situation s and afraid to drive my car for fear of getting rammed by a semi when my fuel pump just out of the blue decides to shut down . Please reopen the recall on these vehicles before someone gets killed.

Failure of engine to start/run due to a faulty fuel pump control module. Current Ford safety recall #16s31 (NHTSA #16v621) is limited only to Ford/Lincoln vehicles equipped with the ecoboost turbocharged engine. The faulty component on my normally aspirated engine, fuel pump control module #aa8z-9d370-b, is the same component being replaced on vehicles affected by the #16v621 NHTSA safety recall. To avoid engines shutting off at speed or not starting, it appears that the recall will need to be expanded to include normally aspirated engines as well. We were fortunate because our vehicle failed sitting in our driveway, not at 75 mph on the highway. My wife's concern is what would have happened to her and our four grandchildren if this failure had taken place on the interstate in busy traffic at 75 mph. Why is the same component that is failing on ecoboost turbocharged engines being covered by Ford safety recall #16s31 not being recalled on similar vehicles equipped normally aspirated engines using the identical component? failure of the component has the same effect of an engine that cuts off at speed or will not start. Your attention to this matter is greatly appreciated. The safety of the owners of these popular Ford/Lincoln family vehicles is at stake.

My 2013 Ford Flex was repaired at malloy Ford in charlottesville, va. The car was parked and failed to start, so I had it towed to the local Ford dealership. The repairs consisted of replacing the fuel pump drive module and the fuel pump. My Ford Flex has 69k miles and is out of warranty. I had the vehicle towed to the local Ford dealership. The dealer informed me that the repairs were not covered by any recall notices. According to the NHTSA website, these repairs should be covered by Ford motor company. Both of these items � the fuel pump module and pump � are listed 1) fuel pump malfunction, NHTSA campaign number: 16v621000 manufacturer Ford motor company components fuel system, gasoline. Ford's number for this recall is 16s31. 2) fuel delivery module may crack and leak NHTSA campaign number: 15v812000 components fuel system, gasoline Ford's number for this recall is 13s04-s1. The first part of my complaint is that Ford does not recognize either of these two recalls on its own website, or in the automated phone dial-in system that I used to reach customer service; I. E. , when I input the Ford recall numbers of 16s31 or 13s04-s1, the message I received was that no such recall existed! the second part of my complaint is that when I spoke with the supervisor the response was that my vehicle was manufactured at a site that did not have the problems covered by the recall. I pointed out that the manufacturing site had nothing to do with this; rather the parts that failed where indeed the parts in the recall messages. Supervisor recommended that I file a complaint and provided me a case number. So I am writing to make this a formal complaint. The bill was $1078.

Car would not start. Towed to garage. Fuel pump driver and fuel pump bad and melted.

Car just dies in the middle of driving and the steering systemlocks up. There has been a known recall for a fuel control module on Ford Flex, there is also known fuel pump problems with Ford makes and models. I have lost power twice. Had at the mechanic last month. Could not get it to die for an entire week in the shop. Now it is dead in a parking lot again.

Fuel control module failed leading to vehicle failing to start. Engine would crank/turn over but no fuel delivered. Dealer diagnosed after vehicle was towed for service. Fuel pump determined to be good after bypassing fuel control module. Vehicle was stationary at time of failure.

Vehicle shut off while pulling away from a stop light. Pulled to side of road and the aa8a-9d412-CA fuel pump relay was extremely hot and vehicle would crank but not start. Pulled connector and let the relay cool. Reinstalled connector and vehicle started with no issues. When I returned home I ordered a new relay and replaced the unit. Vehicle was in a dangerous situation with traffic around. This could have caused an accident.

I parked the vehicle on the mall parking lot on mid-day of July 11, 2018 in cypress, CA. As I turned on ignition to start the engine, it failed to run. Immediately I suspected that the fuel pump is not supplying enough fuel to the injectors; I called Ford roadside assistance for towing service to the nearest Ford dealership. The service advisor will not cover this broken part -fuel pump control module because the recall only applies to the eco boost engine but not on my Flex which is naturally-aspirated. I left the car for two days which they cannot duplicate the engine failure, so I drove the car home which unfortunately failed to run the next day until today. What will I do with this Ford Flex for me to use?.

2 issues 1) the front passenger door though closed is read as a warning "door ajar". The warning stays on at all times. It drains the battery and I have replaced the battery once since owning the 2013 Ford Flex when purchased in 2016 with just under 20,000 miles on it. The interior lights stay on from starting the engine until accelerated speed. The interior lights after parked stay on for a minimum of 30 minutes though it could be longer contributing to draining the vehicle battery. 2) the vehicle began to feel as if it is pulled while in commute. Not starting right away or shuts down/stalls. It has stalled and not turned over though the lights and radio work. Fortunately this has happened after being parked in my parking spot. It will not turn over, but the next morning it will start. After reading about similar issues for other Ford Flex vehicles last week with my vehicle doing the above action I replaced the fuel pump relay module. Which is located in the rear passenger area between rear passenger door and furthest rear window where the seat belt pulls from I felt I had resolved the issue. However, a week exactly later I attempted to start my vehicle when the exact scenario happened all over again. Vehicle would not start, but lights and radio worked. Left alone overnight I went to start it this morning and it starts. Through out the duration of this issue of stalling, not starting, pulling while in motion as it feels like the vehicle is being jerked there is no check engine light or when checking system the only warning is passenger seat ajar.

Without warning the vehicle would not start. It would crank, but not start. Vehicle was in an outdoor public parking lot associated with a restaurant after a very warm day of driving around town on personal errands. Situation occurred after dinner on a Friday evening. A major weekend inconvenience, but the issue is that there is a recall on this problem for same make, model and year vehicle. However, it does not apply to our vehicle even though it is in the same class? recall number: 16v621000 , Ford number: 16s31. The problem: "fuel pump driver module". Cost to repair: $380. 87. Safety issue: considerable internet documentation where exact same problem has occurred while driving the vehicle presenting a serious safety issue for all on board the vehicle. Recall should cover all class vehicles, not some unidentified privileged subset.

My 2013 Ford Flex won't start again. This happened a couple of months ago. I had it towed to the dealer and they said there was a vapor lock issue. They fixed it for $140 plus dollars and yet, here I am again with the same issue. The dealer also stated my VIN was not included in the fuel pump recall list. This time around, I had run a few errands after attending my child's school event, came home and attempted to start the car about one hour later. It was a warm day (around 88 degrees). I can't tell you how frustrating this is. With kids, I need.

My car is affected by the same recall as many other Ford Flex vehicles, however, my vehicle is not listed as part of the recall. I am having issues with the fuel pump control module of my vehicle and it will not start. It cranks and acts like it wants to start however it will not start due to the lack of fuel created by the fuel pump module.

2013 Ford Flex would turn over just fine (battery was fine) but would not start. It acted like it was not getting any fuel (which was the case). Fortunately, I was not driving at the time as that would have been a potentially serious situation. The dealership replaced the fuel pump driver module (part #aa8z 9d370 b) which is under recall for other models of my vehicle but not mine. After researching the internet, this is a prevalent issue and should be addressed for all engine models (not just one).

Vehicle failed to start when parked 3 separate times, resulting in it being towed to a dealership twice. Vehicle stalled once while stationary, and once while in motion without warning. Dealer indicated that the fuel pump control module is at fault and not under recall. Ford openly recalled the turbocharged Flex for the same part that has failed in the naturally aspirated version that I have.

Upon further investigation, the failure was discovered to be a wiring issue from the fuel pump repairs. The vehicle was rewired. The contact stated that the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. While driving various speeds, the steering seized and the power steering was lost without warning. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a steering rack failure, which needed replacement. The contact stated that the vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer's was made aware of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to NHTSA. The approximate failure mileage was 72,018.

Vehicle is not getting any gas do to faulty fuel pump, alarm keeps going off, third time replacing latch, one twice,.

Ford motor company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Ford taurus, Ford Flex, Lincoln mks and Lincoln mkt vehicles equipped with 3. 5l gtdi ecoboost engines and 2013-2015 Ford taurus police interceptor vehicles. A component within the fuel pump electric module (pem) may overheat causing a loss of electrical power to the fuel pump. Consequence a loss of power to the fuel pump will cause the engine to stall or prevent the vehicle from starting, increasing the risk of a crash. What owners should do Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the fuel pem part number and replace the fuel pem, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on December 1, 2016. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 16s31. I had this part suddenly go out on me on 6/22/2017 and had it towed to my dealership. I had received an oil change at our local walmart and when they went to pull it out of the garage the car would not start. So I had it towed. I had this part replaced 6/23/2017 and I was told that my VIN # was not issued for the recall. Even though they admitted that the vehicle was manufactured where the recalls came from and the dates of productions of the recall. This vehicle met those condition but for some reason my VIN was not on the recall list so they will not pay for my part or labor to remove and replace it.

I was driving car and it stalled out of nowhere. Had car towed home and mechanic said it is either the fuel pump or fuel module. Now car only starts sometimes and will turn off. Not safe to drive at all. I tried calling Ford service department but they say that my VIN. Is clear don't see how this is possible as my car is doing samething as many other Ford Flexs on the road how do I get them to add my VIN. On Thursday, April 6th 2017, I went out to my car (stationary) and it would not start. I had just driven it to the doctor's office approximately an hour earlier. There had been no warning lights or indications. Ford certified pre owned warranty covered the tow to the dealership. Dealership could not diagnose vehicle the same day and I had to rent a vehicle. On Friday, dealership diagnosed the problem as a faulty fuel pump module. They indicated to me that it was not covered under the certified pre owned powertrain warranty. I called my extended warranty company which covered only a portion of the repairs and they did not cover the rental car amount. The total amount for service was $856. I paid $537 of that plus and additional $40 for the rental car. On Monday, April 10th, I did some research and found that certain 2013 Ford Flexes had a recall on fuel pump modules. Your website listed, "fuel pump malfunction may cause engine stall. A loss of power to the fuel pump will cause the engine to stall or prevent the vehicle from starting, increasing the risk of a crash. Ford's number for this recall is 16s31. " I called Ford customer service and they checked my VIN number. They indicated that my vehicle was not covered under that recall. I was shocked as this is the same exact problem that other vehicles had. I believe that Ford should be responsible for the cost of repairs and should reimburse me. I was very fortunate to not have been driving or have my children with me when the module stopped working. I would appreciate NHTSA looking into this matter and following up.

Driving down county back road, doing approx 45mph, car shut off. Radio on, no warning lights, heat went out. Coasted to a stop in a church parking lot tried approx 4 times to restart the vehicle, wouldn't turn over. Waited between 5 to 10 minutes, tried again and vehicle turned over with no problems. There is currently a recall on my make model and year, but my vehicle doesn't fall into it per Ford. Ford has already recalled the fuel pump regulator module on certain vehicles and mine was not included. Fuel pump regulator module left mr and disabled chile stranded on highway. No help from Ford. Passenger door sensor out, lights won't go off inside cab until you reach 10 mph. Impossible to see to back up at night or to see out of vehicle to drive. Driver seat wont move forward or backward impossible to get it to move. 2nd row driver side seatbelt broken Ford wont repair.

While driving down the road, the car stalled out several times. Was able to restart it and get going again before it stalled one final time and I had to leave it on the side of the road. I went back an hour later. It started right up and I drove it back home. A week later I went to the grocery store and when I came out it would not start at all. I had to have the vehicle towed and the mechanic replaced the fuel pump module.

There was a recall on the fuel pump for my model year but not my VIN. I had the same stalling issue. It wad stationary when it happened, the final time, was in a parking lot and just wouldnt start.
