The air bag light is on and come and goes this car has never wrecked or in any damage to it. Nothing was evectivted to make the light come on and stay on. I have been informed to get it relpaced ASAP due to the fact if can go out any sec. I am a single parent and can not go and replaced a part that should have no result from myself.
While having tires mounted and checking the reason for illumination of the instrument panel airbag light the dealership discovered that my front passenger air bag was defective. I called Ford and was advised that my VIN number was not part of the recall and that they would contact me in 30 days.
Air bag light stay on, check engine light on, said secondary emission but you check everything no problem, reset code and all back on in 3 days.
I have just acquired this vehicle in oct or Sep of 2018. It has been a pretty good car up until now. The airbag light comes on and off intermittently and now the engine light is on. My mechanic checked why the engine light was on with his computer and has said it's a fuel issue. I take it back to him on Thursday to go over the fuel system and engine to better diagnose the issue. In the meantime, I've been looking up various complaints and issues with my 2007 Ford Focus and not stating the specific issues and the two main complaints and recalls that keep coming upstate that there have been numerous airbags and fuel system issues. These are both the issues I'm having. The airbags light keeps coming on and off without the system being reset. The engine light is on and hasn't gone off. It came on when my husband filled the tank up about 3-4 weeks ago. The only reason we've not had my mechanic look at is due to income. I'm disabled, my husband is in the process of retiring in September and he was injured on the job and has been out for about 5 months. I wouldn't have even looked on the internet to see if there were recalls but we're making a trip to durham in July and need a reliable vehicle and are concerned about the engine catching fire or not getting the fuel needed. Please let me know if this has been any safety issues with this make and model of car. Thank you.
The airbag light in the dashboard stays on all of the time. The driver and passenger seat belt comes unbuckled sometimes for no apparent reason, and has been doing this since I acquired the car in 2012.
The air bag light stays on almost all the time and the passager seat belt will come unlashed at times, this has happened more then once with in this last year 2016.
The contact owns a 2007 Ford Focus. When the vehicle was started, the air bag warning indicator remained illuminated. The failure was intermittent. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The mechanic was able to retrieve an error code for the front driver side air bag module. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 125,000.
The airbag light on the driver side came on and won't go out. Ford Focus 2007 power steering motor is going out. I had my car serviced in 2016 and found out about the power steering was going out . Thanks.
I took an exit off the highway and came to a stop sign. When I turned left at about 15 to 20 mph, I straightened out my vehicle, and at between 25-30 mph, my driver's side airbag deployed out of my driver's seat without any reason. I did not crash into anything nor did anything crash into me. The weather was sunny, with no precipitation, and the roads were clear with no ice or snow. After the airbag deployed, the airbag light came on. The mileage was 109,812. When I took my vehicle to the dealership, they could find no reason why the airbag deployed. They wanted me to replace modules and sensors, totaling $2,800. Because there was no collision, my insurance refused to help. Ford customer service told me that they will not do anything because it is past the date of warranty. This is a serious safety issue that needs to be investigated.
My air bag lights comes on and off. Car hasnt been wrecked but when light comes on it will stay on for half and day. These two lights passenger and driver will come on while car is in motion going down highway.
For some reason, my airbag light continues to stay on for a few days and then may go off for a day before coming back on. No one has been able to figure out whey this is happening. I want to make sure this is not an airbag sensor issue or something related to the recall issues with takata. Thanks you and please get back to me as soon as you can.
Air bag indicator light on dashboard was intermittent at first depending on temperature and humidity, but for past two years it has been on constantly. Have checked wiring harness underneath front passenger seat since I was told it was a loose connection causing the light to come on. This seemed to fix the issue at times, but no longer does.
The air bag light indicating that the passenger air bag even when there's a passenger on board will indicate the airbag is off. It has been doing this everysince I got the car 4 years ago. Now I have a child and people who ride in the passenger seat and safety has become a huge concern there are many reports online of this issue including on here. My family and I cannot afford to replace this or fix this our selves to my knowledge the only aftermarket parts on my car our the tires and all of the mounts. For the original manufactured mounts failed and broke.
The air bag light stays on all the time. Moving the steering wheel in and out makes it turn off, so I suspect the steering wheel airbag has a bad connection. Searching online, it sounds like the clock spring goes bad.
I wrecked my car and in the accident no airbags were deployed. Later after the local mechanic fixed the damage he returned the car to me and within 24 hours the computer reset itself and the airbag light came on indicating a problem. The light has never turned off except when the car is shut off and the airbags never have come out.
The contact owns a 2007 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 mph, the air bag warning indicator remained illuminated until the engine was turned off. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 32,200.
I am very worried about airbag light on the dash which is presently lit up since 2012. I took it to several mechanics and they won't do anything about since it is not on the list. Can someone please check and make sure takata has not extended to Ford Focus 2007 for me? thank you, sincerely, barbara perry.
The contact owns a 2007 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50 mph over a pothole, the air bag warning indicator began to illuminate continuously. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and independent mechanic, who both stated that the entire air bag system would need to be replaced. The technicians also stated that when the malfunction occurred, the air bag system responded as though a massive impact was involved with the vehicle. There was no impact nor did the air bags deploy. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 61,000. The VIN was unavailable.
Air bag light is illuminated or on. However, my car has never been in an accident or collision. Power steering on the car went bad. I had to get it replaced. Wanted to know if there are any recalls for both of these issues. I bought this car new. Should I be experiencing problems this soon?.
The contact owns a 2007 Ford Focus. The contact was driving at various speeds when the front passenger side air bag warning indicator illuminated until the engine was turned off. The failure recurred whenever the engine was in operation. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnosis where they informed the contact that the instrument cluster and passenger side impact sensor would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and informed the service warranty expired. The approximate failure mileage was 8,000.
The airbag light on the instrument cluster of my 2007 Ford Focus came on for the first time August 31, 2011. The car has 37,023 miles and has had all the dealer maintenance performed since the car was purchased. I was told by the longmont Ford dealer that the on board diagnostic computer indicated a loss of communication and that the airbag safety system was not engaged when the light was on. I returned to the dealer the next day to have a complete diagnostic to determine what had caused the light to activate. I was told that the instrument cluster had failed and that the entire cluster must be replaced. This electronic failure represents a serious safety issue if not replaced at a cost of ~$800. 00. I am deeply concerned that other drivers of this car may not understand that the safety system is completely inactive when the instrument cluster fails in this way. Ford does not offer to replace this as part of the safety warranty program. I think this is wrong and represents a safety hazard for drivers who may not understand the failure or who cannot afford to make such a repair and choose to drive the care without the safety feature operable.
Air bag light lights up indicating some type of failure if used.
Just as a preface, I sent this same description of my airbag problem to Ford and they were unwilling to help in any way. I purchased my used 2007 Ford Focus from a beasley Ford dealership in June 2010. Not even one year after I purchased the vehicle in April 2011, I was driving down the road and the airbag light started to flicker. Shortly after, it just stayed on. I noticed that the center dash passenger airbag light, the one that senses a sitting passenger, was also flickering from time to time and would sporadically come on or off. In may 2010, I called beasley Ford and the woman said that it would be $88. 00 to diagnose the airbag light and that my vehicle was not covered under any warranty for this matter. I took my car in for an oil change and decided to spend the $88 dollars to have the airbag light diagnosed. I waited for an hour and forty-five minutes. I was called to the service center. The technician told me that he needed another two hours with my car to diagnose the problem. He had already spent one hour trying to diagnose the problem and he was able to narrow it down to 3-4 possible causes. I was told that it would be another $88. 00 per hour, totaling $167. 00, just to figure out what is wrong with the airbag. I told the service representative that I called and the woman said it was $88 dollars and never told me it was $88 dollars per hour. I was then told that after the diagnosis, I will have to pay for parts, which could be upwards of $617. 00 if the airbag needs to be replaced, plus labor. Frustrated and completely shocked, I came home and checked to see if the airbag was an ongoing problem for other Ford Focus owners. I read about hundreds of other individuals who have had the same issue within the years 2005-2007. One of the main reasons why I am writing is because if this issue hasn’t been looked into, I think it should be.
The contact owns a 2007 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle the air bag light illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was found that the air bag system failed. The vehicle was repaired but the failure reccurred several times. In addition, the contact stated that while entering the vehicle it was found that the driver front seat was the problem. The vehicle was driven to the dealer where it was confirmed that the cushion of the seat became disconnected from the body. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 200 and the current mileage was 61,000.
Driving on the interstate with a friend the air bag deployed while driving 65 mph we hit nothing thank god it was not the drivers air bag the car is only 8 months old we have a bumper to bumper warranty with Ford motor company. They would not look at it and told us to go to our insurance company. We had to pay a 500. 00 they found that the computer recorded a head on accident which will not be erased so the car value is now lost they took pictures of everything showing no accident at all the insurance company changed all the sensors and then the air bag light would not go off it indicated a passenger in the seat so the sent it to thoroughbred Ford and said they did not care what they had to do but fix the car so the did. It cost me 500. 00 deductible and the insurance CO 1,800. 00 so now the are waiting for Ford to except liability. We no not feel our son is safe driving this car I feel most accidents should be looked at as which happened first an accident or the air bag. We could have lost four young men because of this I am very angry with this total process it took 3 weeks to get the car back this also involved missing work classes and alot of trouble with transportation I wish they would take this car off the road so if and when it is sold I do not have that burden of someone else's life on my head and heart.
The contact owns a 2007 Ford Focus. The air bag light flashes on and off when an occupant is seated in the front passenger seat. The dealer stated that the OCS sensor was malfunctioning and they made the replacement. However, the failure was not corrected. The dealer stated that the passenger's weight caused the light to flash, but they did not know how to correct the failure. The current mileage was 32,544 and failure mileage was 91.
Year of vehicle: 2007 make: Ford model: Focus se date of purchase: July 2007 selling/: spreen Honda odometer @ purchasing: 24,900 current mileage: 49,000 problem(s) with the following: transmission - repair attempts: srs/airbag lamp - repair attempts: steering shake/vibration - repair attempts: seat belt repair/replacement - repair attempts: air bag light is back on again in the 'on' position - multiple repair attempts: complaint to dealer: yes. Cld spreen Honda spoke to owner who sent me to a salesman. The next time I returned it to fritz dealership (since they did orig work), for same probs & I was told I wouldn't get a courtesy car and they had no idea how long it would take for repairs. The interior airbag light was in the 'on' position, the transmission began slipping, the front end was shaking like before. Car was returned the 2nd time for the same problems. I was told it was defective parts & had to be ordered. No courtesy car this time like the first time so I was stranded (I'm disabled and nd trans). The car is falling apart little by little with the back door handle broken completely. The seller (spreen Honda) said I would hv to get a new loan on a new vehicle instead of 'exchanging vehicles' as promised in my conversations with the owner, at spreen Honda, place of purchase. I refused this 'hustle' because this was not what I was told over the phone, but after 2nd set of repairs, the car would be replaced. . . Not me purchase another car and give up another down payment! I didn't agree to this and walked out. This car has been under repair for weeks off/on for the same or similar problem I. E. , the transmission first repair was only a few months after purchase, along with front end shaking. I was given a courtesy car while repairs we done w/out the 1st time, but not the 2nd. I was told my car had a 'defective part' & had ordered it. The car has been returned again for same probs mentioned above. Airbag light is bk on again and transmission slip.
2007 Ford Focus with defective front passenger seat airbag. Consumer states that the airbag does not sense when his girlfriend is in the passenger seat. He also says that cold weather enhances this problem. The passenger air bag light would illuminated intermittently.
