The driver airbag light keeps going off and on. I went to Ford dealer shop to fix it. Only shortly after it came back on. I tried different tricks online and they dont last long. This is a common issue among Ford Focus owners. The connection plug from airbag to the steering wheel is bad and it just loses connection from time to time. Focus owners cant just diy sensitive parts like airbag to temporarly fix it nor can we spend big bucks to visit dealersshop everytime. They charged me $140 just look at my car. And told me $700 for airbag replacement, when all that needs replacing is the faulty connecting plug. Ford knows this but is getting away with jeopordizing with customers lives for money. Please make this recall issue so Ford will fix for all Focus owners before people dies from this well known Focus issue because the driverside airbag failes to deploy. Please.

In Dec. 12-23 a deer landed in front of us as we were driving on a on highway and going about 50 mph. Deer damaged hood radiator etc. Biggest concern . Both airbags deployed. The powder. Right after the initial impact I said open the door open the window cuz the dust was flying around the car and I believe I inhaled some in my throat up my nose that was really bad . The dust smells bad irritating eyes throat. As a couple days went by. Throat very sore coughing off and on. ? the chemicals ? toxin,, can they cause problems later. Inside both nazal passages very crusty and dried blood. Small skin burn on mid nose. Also headaches , feel dazed, hair and face had a weird smell , also severe ringing in ears. I am extremely concerned if this vehicle has had issues with toxic chemicals and what help can I get to resolve this and I am concerned. The police came rescue came we a grateful we were able to walk away but sometimes problems occur a few days later. I am extremely concerned about the respiratory impact and irritation if the chemicals can cause problems later. On 12-25-19. I just dont feel right. Headaches also respiratory and throat concerns.
I was turning left on a yellow light in a busy intersection during rush hour. The car opposite of mine was not paying attention and hit the bumper of my car. My air bag did not go off and my seat belt doesn't pull out the way it should now.
We were driving north at 50 mph, man going east rolled through stop sign. He t-boned us square in both driver side doors, rolling us over twice, landing back on the driver side of the car. Out of 7 airbags only one deployed. The air bag that deployed was on the passenger seat on the opposite side of where the impact occurred. I have the car, it has been untouched other than tow truck company and is locked in my parents garage, as we don't know what to do with it or next. We have tons of pictures. Pictures of the car, the scene, we have it all. Thank you rw.
Tl-the contact owns a 2007 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 60 mph, the air bags inadvertently deployed without warning. The contact stated that there was black smoke and fuel fumes emitting into the vehicle. As a result, the contact was unable to breath properly and his ears were ringing. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000. Djr.
I was driving south in the lane 2. The other driver was driving north in the first lane. The other driver was attempting a left turn she could not see past traffic in the south first lane so she continued to turn. I then t-boned the other drive. She was cited at fault for failing to yield the right of way. My air bags attempted to deploy but they did not.
Spring broke on air bag for no reason. Light did come on and off in the dash board. I' m writing this to inform the board that this seems to be an additional problem with these airbags. Furthermore I feel it should not be the responsibility of the consumer to pay for the repair for the amount of four hundred a d fifty dollars. .
I was going about 10 mph through a city street intersection when I ran over an uncovered water valve pipe in a depression similar to, but smaller than, a standard manhole well. Each left tire ran over the uncovered water valve. There was a loud pop, and I blacked out. The left rear tire had blown out after the left front tire sustained damage that resulted in a flat tire shortly thereafter. Also, the air bag in the left side of the back of the driver's seat deployed and hit me in the head, causing me to black out, and producing amnesia and other mental symptoms that lingered for several years. In addition, I suffered neck and back injuries from whiplash. The air bag should not have been triggered by an under-wheel impact at such a low speed.
Is my air bag for my car on the recall list?.
My car was hit head on, the passenger side seat felled to hold and all the slack came loose causing the the passenger to hit the dash. The air bags felled to deploy. The passenger could have been really hurt or worse, could have went through the wind shield. Contacted Ford motor and would get a written response in six weeks. Received a phone call a few days later telling me to work with my insurance company to get it repaired. I asked to be compensated for driving this car for seven years with an defected seat belt with I purchased new. Ford showed no enterest in this issue.
My airbag on the driver side went out the light is on and won't go out, also the power steering is going out the vehicle have under 90 thousand miles on it I have afraid to drive for those reasons it was purchased in 2006 new with 2 tens of a mile on it. I sent an email a year or so ago and never heard from you all. Can't afford to have it repaired airbag over $400 dollars and so is the power steering. Thanks in advance.
My car was in a single vehicle accident as we hit a power pole head on going at least 50 mph. I wasn't the driver. At impact both the driver and myself had our heads crash into the dashboard. The driver smashed his head into the steering wheel and I hit the area above the glove box. My head also hit the passenger door. The car caught on fire and burned completely to the ground. My concerns are that with an accident of that magnitude, not a single airbag deployed in the car. All 4 passengers received multiple severe injuries. I'm aware that in some situations air bags can make things worse, but in this case I'm sure that the airbags should have deployed and would have been better than us violently slamming our heads and faces onto the dashboard and steering wheel. I'm also interested in seeing why the seat belts didn't constrict us from moving that far forward.
The contact owns a 2007 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while traveling approximately 45 mph, the driver's seat air bag erroneously deployed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted about the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000. Updated 02/27/lj.
Monitor failed and clock spring in steering column lost connectivity causing air bag system to no longer operate. Repairs to make system operable again resulted in charges of over $900. No accident was involved to cause the failure. Parts related to safety that should have lasted as long as the car was operable failed resulting in expensive repair costs.
Ran into a guard rail front on. Air bags never went off.
12-26-2012 I was on route 77 in akron, ohio when I slid on ice and snow, my car started spinning and an SUV going north and my car crashed. I spun into the left lane where a Cadillac SUV was driving north and he hit the driverside front side of my vehicle. My car may be totaled. Front driverside headlight is gone, transmission was pushed back and hood of car is bent. My airbag did not go off. I was taken to the hospital after hitting my head on the driver side window, and I strained my neck. My question is why did my airbags not go off??.
Tl- the contact owns a 2007 Ford Focus. While driving approximately 75 mph, the contact drove over a tire in the middle of the road. The front driver's side curtain airbag then deployed erroneously. The contact sustained bruises to the arms as a result of the airbag deployment. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 87,800. Kmj.
I was in a auto accident on 05/18/2012, I was driving 10 miles under posted speed limit, I had a green light and a young girl age 17 ran red light I had no time to step on brakes or anything, I was knocked out when I came too, the air bag had deployed and it burned my face, nose, I inhaled whatever chemicals are in the airbag,it burned my throat all the way down, and to this day, my nose has a bruise looking splotches and my nose bleeds constantly, also, I have sores in my mouth constantly and a blue blood blister on my lip. . I am horse, I was coughing up blood. . . My voice has not been the same since the accident, the young girl was sited with a ticket and I was not, I was rushed to the hospital, the airbag broke my sternum but I am concerned about my lungs hurt constantly and with all the other things that are still bothering me, I have pictures of my face and chest, plus the police report. . .
At 7:30 this morning, I was driving to work on the palisades parkway, my speed was about 70 mph, when suddenly there was a loud bang, followed by smoke in the interior of my car. I immediately slowed down and realized that the car was still operating fine, but that the driver's side impact air bag deployed for no reason. I did not hit a pot hole, nor was I hit or hit any one or any thing. It just deployed on it's own. The seat bag was located in the driver's seat. There is now foam rubber in the interior of my car from the seat. The seam on the seat is open. I called the local Ford dealer and was told it would not be covered. I also called the Ford motor company customer care service, which assigned a case number and I should hear back in about 24-48 hours. Upon looking on the web, I have found about 25 additional instances of the same air bag deploying for no reason. My left arm, my neck are bruised from the impact of the airbag. I also am having ringing in my left ear from the bang. Is there enough evidence for a recall based on many deployments of this airbag?.
On June 13, 2009, my husband, my 16 month old son and I were driving on i95 s from north carolina to south carolina when my rear left tire blew out. This sent us fish tailing across all lanes and finally when the back of my car spun around into the shoulder, the car flipped onto the driver side, then onto the top of the car, then finally landing back upright. Not during any time did the airbags deploy on any side of my car.
My daughter was recently in a horrific car crash in her brand new 2007 Ford Focus. The car flipped, hit a telephone pole (rear end) landed on the top and rolled. The airbags (front and side) never deployed. My daughter sustained head injuries and cuts, scrapes & bruises - but thank god survived. Are there issues with the air bags on the 2007 Focus?.
